Following the abduction of over 300 schoolgirls in neighboring Zamfara State, the Kano state government has ordered the immediate closure of 10 boarding schools located at the outskirt of the state.
A statement released by the state Commissioner of Education Muhammad Sunusi Kiru, listed the affected schools as Girls Secondary School at Sumaila, Girls Secondary School Jogana, Girls Secondary School Gezawa, and Government Secondary School, Kafin Maiyaki (Male),
Others are Maitama Sule Secondary School, Gaya; Girls Secondary School Kachako; Girls Secondary School, Kunchi; Unity College Karaye; Girls Arabic College Albasu; Girls Secondary School Tudun Wada and Danzabuwa.

“This decision is part of our resolve to protect our children from any unforeseen circumstances.”the statement read

The Commissioner urged parents to bear with the state government over the painful decision, saying it is for the good of the children.

He said schools will resume once the security situation is brought under control.

The office of the national security adviser (NSA) has expressed its fear with the deployment of 5th Generation (5G) technology in the country.

Bala Fakandu, director of communications in NSA who appeared before the senate committee on communications on Thursday February 25, said they are concerned about the deliberate vulnerabilities and backdoors within the 5G network equipment, which according to him might expose Nigeria to “eavesdropping, tracking, cyber-attacks, military and industrial espionage and other malicious activities by foreign actors.”

Fakandu also asked the ministry of communications and digital economy to carry them along in the formulation of the policy that would guide the use of 5G in the country.

He said;


“We are concerned about the deliberate vulnerabilities and backdoors within the 5G network equipment.

“That is one of the key concerns we have and this will make the infrastructure highly susceptible to eavesdropping, tracking, cyber-attacks, military and industrial espionage and other malicious activities by foreign actors.

“We understand these are things that will be put in place particularly in the policy the minister has talked about.

“I need to emphasise it so that the stakeholders in the telecommunications industry will understand where we are coming from because the national security concerns is the concern of the office of the national security adviser and of the president as well.”

Thierry Henry has quit his job as manager of Montreal Impact in Canada, stating that the role was having too much impact on his family.

‘The last year has been an extremely difficult one for me personally. Due to the worldwide pandemic, I was unable to see my children. Unfortunately due to the ongoing restrictions and the fact that we will have to relocate to the US again for several months will be no different.
‘The separation is too much of a strain for me and my kids. Therefore, it is with much sadness that I must take the decision to return to London and leave CF Montreal.

‘I would like to thank the fans, players and all the staff of this Club that have made me feel so welcome.

The club’s sporting director admitted his regret at seeing the exit of the 43-year-old.

‘Thierry’s departure is unfortunate and premature because this was very promising, but he informed me of his desire to be back with his family because the situation was and remains very difficult for both him and his family,’ Olivier Renard said.

‘I want to thank him, first on a human level because he led the players by example last year by being away from his family, but also from a sporting level and for what we have built together since his arrival.’

Henry was recently linked with taking over at Championship side Bournemouth following the sacking of Jason Tindall. But missed out to caretaker manager Jonathan Woodgate, who was named as interim boss until the end of the season after guiding the club to three wins in their first five games.

The Management of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology LAUTECH, have reacted to the viral video of a man said to be a lecturer of the institution having sex with a lady alleged to be a student of the institution.

LAUTECH became the number one trending topic on Twitter on Thursday February 25 after the sex tape was released. In the 44-second video, the middle-aged man was seen having his way with the young lady in a room. The lecturer was left in shock after he turned during the act to see a third party filming him. The video was later released online.
Reacting to the development, the school authorities in a statement released, denied claims that the female is one of its students.

”We don’t have anything to do with the lady you mentioned. There are many of them who did not even complete secondary school education but would go on social media to claim they are LAUTECH students.


We don’t know her. LAUTECH is a school for serious-minded students and staff and not her type.”
