Nigerian comedian and musician, Samuel Perry aka Broda Shaggi has revealed that he was pushed to make it in the entertainment industry because of poverty. According to him, poverty made him consider a career in entertainment. The comedian brought the revelation to light during the private screening of ‘Ponzi’, an upcoming movie, in Lagos. Shaggi, who featured in the film, said he left his hometown in Ikenne, Ogun state for Lagos after the demise of his father to stay with his aunt in the Makoko area where he continued his education. He added that he later gained admission into the University of Lagos (UNILAG) where he studied creative arts. The comedian, however, said that things did not go as planned which made him resort to exploring his innate potentials to entertain people. “I came from Ikenne in Ogun state. I left Ikene when my father died for Lagos where I lived with my aunt in Makoko area. She was the one who took care of me till l left the university. So, I was neither born with a silver spoon nor grew up in Lekki. Everything started in Makoko,” he said. “I started entertainment out of hunger. Most people out there started also started out of hunger because poverty is not a good thing. When poverty hits you, you’ll be one to figure out your talent.” The comedian also reflected on his initial excitement when he came into the limelight, explaining the switch from relative obscurity to prominence. “It was fun. For me, it was like leaving one world for another. There’s this joy when people see you and want to have pictures with you,” he added. https://web.muguvideos.com/2021/03/10/broda-shaggi-opens-up-on-how-he-made-it-in-the-entertainment-industry/

The Christian Association of Nigeria has reacted to an order by the Kwara state governemnt for students to wear hijab in public and mission schools. CAN, on Tuesday, asked the Governor of Kwara, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to immediately withdraw his approval of hijab wearing by students in the State, especially those in Christian mission schools. The apex Christian body described the governor’s action as premature and prejudicial, claiming Governor AbdulRazaq was aware of a case pending in court over the matter wherein the judge had ruled that the status quo should be maintained. Recall that Kwara government shut ten Christian mission schools last month for allegedly refusing to allow female students wearing Hijab enter their premises. But CAN in a statement by its General Secretary, Joseph Daramola, titled, ‘Caution on Kwara State Governor’s Approval of Wearing of Hijab in Christian School‘, wondered what would happen, if the State authorities waited for the court to pronounce its final judgement on the matter. He said, “We ask the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to immediately withdraw his government’s approval of wearing of hijab in schools within the state, including Christian Mission schools. “This advice is necessary because we see the action of the Governor of the state as premature and equally prejudicial. It appears to be a contempt of the court because the governor is aware that there is a pending court case on this matter over which the court had earlier ruled that the status quo should be maintained. “We note how some people took the laws into their hands in the state by going from school to school to enforce the wearing of hijab in secondary schools, including the schools owned by mission agents but are only granted aid by the government. “Instead of the government to caution such trouble makers and admonish them to wait for the court process to be concluded and judgement delivered, the government of Kwara State has shown its religious bias by the blanket approval of the wearing of the hijab, even in Christian Mission Schools. “This action of the government of Kwara State is not only discriminatory and divisive, but it equally suggests that the government was the one behind the earlier illegal enforcement of the wearing of hijab in Christian schools. “While the government may give directive on its own schools, it ought to respect the schools it does not directly own, nor started and respect the religious cultures of such schools as well. “We urge the political elites to stop using their religious overzealousness in causing division in the society, but rather treat all equally irrespective of religious and ethnic affiliation. If we would all do pilgrimage together, there must be fairness to all, mutual respect and justice.” CAN warned political leaders against using their positions to further the cause of any particular religion or ethnic group in the interest of peace. “The Governor of Kwara State has shown open bias for one religion with his inability to wait for the court processes to be concluded over this matter. “CAN has resolved to use all lawful means to reverse the order if the government refused to withdraw the directive,” the statement added. Lady who slept with 13-year-old boy wins bail application, Judge rules that the minor was a 'willing participant' 26-year-old Precious Teya who was arrested for sleeping with a 13-year-old boy has been freed on $10,000 bail, following a successful bail appeal at the High Court on Friday March 5. Teya who was initially denied bail when she appeared before Harare provincial magistrate Vongai Guwuriro on charges of indecent assault, won her bail application after High Court Judge Tawanda Chitapi ruled that based on the evidence presented, the juvenile was a willing and consenting participant. This came after her lawyer, Moses Nyatsoma argued that she was not guilty of the charges because she had no way of knowing that her alleged victim was only 13-years-old due to his stature and his conduct. After the prosecution stated that Teya forced her way into the house and forced the minor into fulfilling the sexual rendezvous, Justice Chitapi said; “The State said the appellant forced herself into the house but it is clear that this is not accurate because if it is correct, there was no reason for the victim to feed his siblings with sleeping pills.” The High Court judge granted Teya $10,000 bail. She will be back at the Magistrates’ Court on 21 April for trial. https://web.muguvideos.com/2021/03/08/lady-who-slept-with-13-year-old-boy-wins-bail-application-judge-rules-that-the-minor-was-a-willing-participant/

Traders in Kano lament as onion bag sold in the South for N35k crashes to N7k in the North Farmers and traders in Kano are lamenting as farm produce, which can't be sent to the South due to the ongoing strike by sellers of cows and food stuff, are now being sold in the North at ridiculously low prices. In video shared online , the farmers and marketers at the Gun-Dutse onion market, Dawakin Kudu Local government Area of Kano State, are seen lamenting the effect of the ongoing strike by the sellers of cows and foodstuff. Recall that trucks bringing food stuff to the Southern part of Nigeria were turned back at Kara Jebba, the last village between Niger state and Kwara state, to prevent them from bringing food to the South. This strike is connected to an ultimatum given by the national leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) to the Federal Government which demanded compensation for the losses suffered by Northern traders in the recent mayhem at Shasha market in Ibadan, Oyo State. The strike led to an increase in price of food commodities in the south but in the north, the prices are plummeting. Farmers said before the protest, they usually transport a minimum of 20 trucks to the southern part of the country on a daily basis but the strike has affected them badly. The largest bag of onion, which sold at N35,000 few weeks ago and as high as N70,000 during the onion scarcity last year, is now being sold for N7,000. https://web.muguvideos.com/2021/03/03/traders-in-kano-lament-as-onion-bag-sold-in-the-south-for-n35k-crashes-to-n7k-in-the-north-video/
