European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)BREAKING: PSG Retain Champions League After Shootout Victory Over Arsenal by muhmeen(op): 9:03pm On May 30
French champions edge Gunners 4-3 on penalties in Budapest to secure back-to-back European crowns.

Paris Saint-Germain successfully defended their UEFA Champions League title after defeating Arsenal 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in the final at Budapest's Puskás Aréna. PSG became only the second club in the modern Champions League era to retain the trophy in successive seasons.

Arsenal made the perfect start to the final when Kai Havertz fired the Premier League champions into an early lead in the sixth minute, giving Mikel Arteta's side hope of winning the club's first-ever Champions League title.

The holders responded in the second half, with Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembélé converting a penalty in the 65th minute after a foul on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, bringing PSG level and setting up a tense finish.

Neither side could find a winner during the remainder of normal time or extra time, forcing the final into a dramatic penalty shootout. PSG held their nerve from the spot, while Arsenal defender Gabriel missed the decisive penalty, blasting his effort over the crossbar.

The victory caps another remarkable European campaign for Luis Enrique's side, who reached the final after eliminating FC Bayern Munich in the semi-finals and entered the showpiece as defending champions.

For Arsenal, the defeat is a heartbreaking end to an otherwise historic season. Arteta's men arrived in Budapest having won their first Premier League title in 22 years and reached their first Champions League final since 2006, but they fell just short of completing a memorable double.

PSG's triumph further cements their place among Europe's elite, while Arsenal will be left to reflect on a campaign that brought domestic glory but ended in European heartbreak.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)BREAKING: Arsenal Clinch First Premier League Title After 22 Years by muhmeen(op): 9:55pm On May 19
Arsenal have officially been crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years after Manchester City were held by AFC Bournemouth in a dramatic title-race twist.

Manchester City entered the match knowing only a victory would keep their title hopes alive, but Bournemouth frustrated Pep Guardiola’s side with a resilient display that ultimately handed Arsenal the crown.

The result confirmed Mikel Arteta’s side as champions with one game remaining, ending a painful wait since Arsenal’s famous “Invincibles” triumph in 2004 under Arsène Wenger.

According to Reuters, Bournemouth teenager Eli Junior Kroupi gave the hosts the lead before Erling Haaland rescued a late equaliser for City, though it was not enough to stop Arsenal from clinching the title.

Arsenal’s triumph comes after years of near misses, with Arteta finally guiding the North London club back to the summit of English football following consecutive second-place finishes in recent seasons.

Celebrations erupted across North London moments after the final whistle, with supporters flooding social media to celebrate the club’s first league title in more than two decades.

The Gunners could yet complete a historic campaign, with Arsenal also preparing for the UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain later this month.

CelebritiesOdumodublvck Mocks Blaqbonez Over Suggested Boxing Match by muhmeen(op): 12:56pm On May 03
Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has mocked fellow artist Blaqbonez after content creator Nasboi suggested a potential boxing match between the two.

The idea emerged shortly after the recent celebrity bout involving Portable (Habeeb Olalomi), who suffered defeat in a widely discussed clash that has since sparked fresh interest in entertainment boxing matchups.

Riding on the momentum, Nasboi floated the idea of another high-profile bout—this time between Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez—prompting reactions across social media.

Odumodublvck, however, appeared to brush off the suggestion, responding with mocking and sarcastic remarks aimed at Blaqbonez. His comments, delivered in his usual bold style, quickly gained traction online and added a humorous edge to the conversation.

While Blaqbonez is known for his witty online persona and may yet respond, the exchange so far has been largely playful, with fans treating the idea more as entertainment than a serious sporting contest.

The situation highlights the growing trend of celebrity boxing in Nigeria’s entertainment space, where viral moments and online banter can quickly evolve into headline-grabbing narratives.

For now, the proposed fight remains speculative—but if recent trends are anything to go by, fans won’t rule anything out just yet.

PhonesAirtel Ng, Globacom, 9mobile, Mtn Ng Suspend Loan Services Over Fccpc New Rules by muhmeen(op): 1:49am On Apr 18
Major telecom operators in Nigeria — MTN Nigeria, Airtel Nigeria, Globacom (Glo), and T2 Mobile — have suspended their airtime and data advance services following new regulatory requirements introduced by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).

The decision comes as part of efforts to comply with the FCCPC’s Digital, Electronic, Online or Non-Traditional Consumer Lending Regulations, 2025, which impose stricter licensing and compliance conditions on providers of digital credit services.

These services, including MTN’s Xtratime and similar offerings from other networks, allow prepaid subscribers to borrow airtime or data and repay on their next recharge.

In separate disclosures, the telecom operators noted that such services now fall under the scope of the new regulations, requiring them to undergo additional approval processes before resuming operations.

The companies stated that the suspension is temporary and aimed at aligning with the updated regulatory framework governing digital lending in Nigeria.

Despite the development, subscribers can still purchase airtime and data through regular channels, while operators assured that the move is not expected to significantly impact their overall earnings.

The FCCPC’s new rules are part of broader efforts to strengthen consumer protection and ensure transparency in Nigeria’s rapidly expanding digital credit ecosystem.

SportsCAF Overturns AFCON 2025 Final, Crowns Morocco Champions Ahead Of Senegal by muhmeen(op): 9:50am On Mar 23
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially revised the outcome of the TotalEnergies AFCON 2025, declaring Morocco champions, Senegal runners-up, and Nigeria third following a controversial post-tournament ruling.

The decision, confirmed on Monday, March 23, 2026, came after CAF’s Appeal Board upheld a protest filed by the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF) against the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football (FSF).

Initially, Senegal had appeared destined for glory after a composed and dominant run to the final, while Morocco impressed with consistency throughout the tournament, which was hosted on home soil.

However, CAF ruled that Senegal breached Articles 82 and 84 of AFCON regulations through the conduct of its team. As a result, the final was forfeited, with a 3–0 scoreline awarded to Morocco—effectively handing the North African side the title.

Nigeria, who enjoyed a strong campaign marked by attacking flair and statistical dominance, secured third place in the revised standings.

Tournament Overview

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations delivered a thrilling showcase of African football, featuring tactical discipline, fierce competition, and standout individual performances.

Nigeria emerged as one of the most dominant sides statistically, winning five consecutive matches, scoring a tournament-high 14 goals, and averaging 66% possession.

Senegal led in passing accuracy with 3,562 completed passes, while both Senegal and Morocco recorded the highest number of shots attempted, with 108 each.

Defensively, Morocco, Comoros, and DR Congo impressed, conceding just two goals apiece, while Mozambique recorded the highest goals conceded with nine.

In total, the tournament produced 123 goals, along with 210 yellow cards and nine red cards—highlighting its intensity and physical edge.

The final between Senegal and Morocco drew 66,526 fans at Stade Moulay Abdellah in Rabat, making it the most attended match of the competition.

Individual Awards

Senegal’s Sadio Mané was named Player of the Tournament, while Morocco’s Brahim Díaz finished as top scorer with five goals.

Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou claimed the Best Goalkeeper award with five clean sheets, and Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman was recognised as Best Playmaker with four assists.

Morocco also received the Fair Play Award.

Disciplinary Rulings

CAF’s Appeal Board also addressed several disciplinary issues from the final. Morocco’s Ismaël Saibari had his suspension reduced to two matches, with one suspended, while a previously issued $100,000 fine was overturned.

The Moroccan federation was fined $50,000 for incidents involving ball boys, while a separate $100,000 sanction related to interference around the VAR review area was upheld. A laser-related fine was also reduced to $10,000.

A Tournament to Remember

Despite the controversy surrounding the final decision, AFCON 2025 will be remembered for its high-quality football and dramatic conclusion.

With Morocco officially crowned champions, Senegal runners-up, and Nigeria finishing third, the tournament stands as one of the most contentious—and statistically compelling—editions in recent African football history.

The 21-year-old academy graduate emerged as the unlikely hero, surging forward from left-back to score twice in the space of five minutes and cap a memorable day under the Wembley arch.

In a historic final between the Premier League’s top two sides, City matched Arsenal stride for stride, dominating key spells both in and out of possession. The triumph also marked another milestone for Pep Guardiola, who claimed his 19th major trophy with the club and became the first manager to win the League Cup five times.

City’s latest success moves them to nine League Cup titles—second only to Liverpool’s tally of 10—and keeps alive hopes of further silverware this season with the Premier League and FA Cup still within reach.

Arsenal started brightly, with James Trafford producing a sensational triple save early on to deny Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka in quick succession.

City gradually took control, with Jeremy Doku and Antoine Semenyo posing constant threats out wide, while Erling Haaland came close before the break.

The breakthrough arrived just after the hour mark when Rayan Cherki’s delivery slipped through Kepa Arrizabalaga’s grasp, allowing O’Reilly to head home from close range.

Moments later, he struck again—meeting a floated cross from Matheus Nunes with another clinical header to double City’s advantage.

Arsenal pushed for a response, with Riccardo Calafiori hitting the post and Gabriel Magalhães striking the crossbar late on, but City’s resolute defence held firm.

At the final whistle, jubilant scenes erupted among the City faithful, as Guardiola’s side celebrated yet another major honour in a season that could still deliver even more silverware.
