I am finding it difficult to understand how a guy who just moved into a neighbour hood, the next day a lady in the neighbourhood already trying to get his attention and as he ignores her, she is at his door that she wants to borrow 2k to pay back next week . And she stays with her parents. |
© Getty Images FIFA has today, 18 July 2014, lifted the suspension that was imposed on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on 9 July 2014 on account of interference. FIFA has noted that the court proceedings and order preventing the president of the NFF, the NFF Executive Committee members and the NFF Congress from running the affairs of Nigerian football that prompted the suspension have been withdrawn. As statutory order has been reinstated at the NFF and the legitimate bodies reinstalled, FIFA has decided to lift the suspension as of today, Friday 18 July 2014. The lifting of the suspension means that all rights of the NFF as a FIFA member as defined in article 12 of the FIFA Statutes are reinstated. http://www.fifa.com/aboutfifa/organisation/news/newsid=2406572/index.html

The Consumer Protection Council (CPC) yesterday flagged off the nationwide “check the Best Before (BB)date” campaign to curtail the grave risks and economic losses suffered by Nigerian consumers who purchase expired products. Speaking at the launch of the campaign, the Director General of the CPC Mrs. Dupe Atoki said: “there are many instances where expired products have failed and caused fatal accidents and we hope to stem this tide of avoidable death and loss of hard earned money.” In the exercise of its function, the CPC is empowered to demand product label showing date and place of manufacture of a commodity as well as certification of compliance. It is therefore empowered to ban the sale, distribution and advertisement of products which do not comply with the requirements. Atoki said: “Apart from not taking seriously the need to constantly check the BB date of products that we purchase, many Nigerians are still unaware of the fact that some non-edible products like paints, cosmetics, batteries and tyres also expire.” She also lamented the poor storage of products which further compromise their quality, stressing that the practice of storing products like bottled water and beverages under direct sunlight for weeks on-end negates the storage conditions stipulated by the manufacturers. The Director General gave a 6-month moratorium to manufacturers to train all those on their distribution chain on how best to store their products and to stock only products that they can store properly or risk having them withdrawn from the market. http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/business/28039-cpc-launches-check-the-bb-date-campaign http://nationalmirroronline.net/new/expired-products-cpc-to-prosecute-offenders/ http://nigerianpilot.com/cpc-gives-beverages-bottled-water-dealers-6-month-ultimatum/ |
