hi sory abt dat, wen & wer dd dat happen? i cn b of help 2 u if u wnt. cn u post more detailed pics 2 alphagroup2012@yahoo.co.uk. i ll like to come & inspect d car, so i cn assess the degree of damage done. i am nt a mechanic bt i am quite experienced at fixing & rehabilitating accidented vehicles. i av successfully fixed 2 for pple. i av credible contacts for panel works, auto electrician, painter & mechanic. i also av contacts for genuine part supply.

from what i see so far my candid advice is to:
- completely replace engine & transmission for best results. REASON: the car is a front wheel drive. (***though i might review this upon actual inspection of the car from beneath)
- front chassis plus engine seats
- radiator & condenser plus fans
- front outer body on both sides hood, head lamps & bumper
- if there's any other thing i ll see it during inspection (like shock-absorbers, steering compartment & wheel stability linkages, shaft system)

process:
- panel worker will disassemble the whole front chassis (approx. 2days)
- mechanics will remove completely engine & transmission (approx.3days)
- shop for parts (a whole day)
- recess (a whole day)
- panel will assemble front chassis plus frame (a day)
- mechanics will install new engine & transmission and other accessories like radiator plus plastic container, condenser, electric motor (alternator) etc. (4days)
- electrician will conduct full wiring of full engine & transmission (2days)
- pre-test, checks & running of engine & transmission (a day)
- panel worker will replace outer body frame on both sides (approx. a day)
- also replace bumper, hood & headlamps; some more wiring to be done by electrician (approx. 2days)
- other finishing touches for panel work getting ready for painting (approx. a day)
- pre-paint works (1day)
- painting (approx. a day)

summary:
- in 3wks approx. (minus sundays) by GOD's grace & others factors in place, particularly cash, u ll drive this car agn.
- man-power requirements:
~ 1 panel worker
~ 2 mechanics
~ 1 auto electrician
~ 1 painter
- i am going to supervise the entire operation.
- costing is going to be done after visual & thorough inspection of the car. i ll advise as best as possible in ur best interest. the rest is up to u. but getting ur car back to normal functionality is possible. u just nid to believe & b ready to pay d price. all transactions shall be duly documented with receipts issued.

do you mean that, while driving the car suddenly decelerates, stops & the engine is still running?? or it jst revves in motion while on D - drive & you stop. turn off ignition & on, then it starts to move. if that is it, then i think you have a transmission problem. go & check the gear oil transmission level ASAP!!! you dont want to go through the stress of fixing a murano gearbox. call me 08032615423 Myke.

its just a minor wiring fault which can be fixed. why don't you book an appointment for inspection. there is no amount of pictures that can compare to actual sight & testing a car before you buy. there are too many sweet lips in this business. so its best to see for yourself. pictures wont show you how good the shock-absorbers of the car are or how smoothly the gear transmits or if the engine over-heats. so my sincere advise, come & see for yourself.

i had an isuzu rodeo in 2010. the gear oil was leaking & i dint kno, until 1 day it just dint accelerate any longer on motion. i stopped & switched off, d ignition. put it on agn, select D - drive, it dint move but R - reverse worked perfectly. i waited till 11pm & did a reverse from there back 2 my house over 20km.

i called some guys from Ladipo who came & brought down d gear in 45mins, opened it up & changed what they called 'fibres' & converter, & did some wiring bypass. in another 50mins d gear was put back in place. & test driven on the spot. i dint have any issues thereafter. i sold it afterwards though. yours could be a brainbox malfunction or a sensor beneath d gearbox itself. bt i m very certain dat d 'fibre' in ur newly bought gearbox might need replacement.

my brother, sorry about your experience. its rather unfortunate! but then you need to understand that the FRSC is a domestic and internal road and traffic law enforcement agency. the entry or embargo of your RHD car is not their jurisdiction. it is when you drive such car on the road that you are liable to being apprehended and charged to court. that is not to say that i have not seen people driving RHD cars in Lagos but it is actually illegal to do so. that is why i started by saying that your experience is rather unfortunate. perhaps you should find a way of explaining to them that your actual plan was to convert the car to LHD immediately upon delivery. but the TRUTH is that in Nigeria, RHDs are not allowed and FRSC does not have the jurisdiction to stop their entry.

u guys should pay attention to what @kaystar just mentioned, d top cylinder gasket might need replacement. hard as it is to face, but truth be told. wen u run engine wtout AC, temperature normal, then u put it on & it shoots high is 1 of d symptoms of top cylinder gasket wearing out. after sometime, u ll experience water constantly bubbling out @ high temperature from d radiator bottle. all d oda issues, water pump exhaustion, radiator cap weakness are results of high temperature from worn-out gasket not d cause.
