InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by MyMail2D:
Hi,

I also just debited.
Pls assist to confirm if this is correct.
I requested that my Bank invest Bleep for 364days and they said they will go with their bank bid rate.
They debited me xx,000 this evening, then credited me xx,506, then debitted me some Bank changes of xx.

What rate did they bid for me?
I thought they will debit me only the discounted value of xx,494, and pay me the interest upfront of xx,506 and I will collect 1,000,000 in 364 days.

Pls assist to analysis what happend?

Hi feelamong,

That thread is quite "dead" , 1 page alone and the last real post was Aug 2013.
Many of the questions asked on that forum have still not been answered, thus I am also still searching..

inze:
. . . 400k will be credited to you at Maturity. Your interest has already been paid upfront. It is more likely you went with "bank rate" which is why you got 16.7% which to me is not a bad deal but you should note that the percentage is at per/annum basis and the only way you'll arrive at that 66.616 profit is if you had put in your bid for 365days.
Hello Inze,

Thanks for the info.
I bidded for 182 days .

Hello Gurus, wink

Pls I need your comments/advice on my TB transaction with a Bank.

I was able to invest in the last TB of 19 Oct as I gave my Bank the instruction to invest 400k for 182 days.
On Thur-20 Oct, I got debited N400k and Custodian fee of 199.45 and commission fee of ₦ 41.64. I was credited with upfront interest of 33,308.49.

I calculated that they bidded at 16.7%, but I saw that the official rate for 182 Days on 19 Oct was 17.09%.

I thought I will be debited the sum of the discounted value of 366,691.51 with the other fees/charges, have 33,308.49 left in my account and also credited with upfront interest= 33,308.49 to spend.
So that I will get the sum of N400k returned in 6 months’ time.
This will make a total return of my investment to be N466,616.

Pls assist to confirm if they are right and what amount will I collect in 6 months’ time.
They have not given me any advice/investment letter also.

cool
PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Inec's Official Website Hacked by MyMail2D: 11:39am On Mar 28, 2015
This is correct as at 11.44 am.
INEC website is hacked and the pages taken over by Nigerian Cyber Army.

This is rather unfortunate....

Hi,

Pls when is the next TB date?

Why do some pple say we should invest after the election? The fear of the foreign bidders is now, before the election, thus it is best time for us local players to invest.
After the election, they will come back with their money and crash the market.

Pls advice that my reasoning above makes sense as I want to invest big time in Jan 2015.

I want to commend us for the good info on this site, it is a great wealth of info for novice investors like me.
Thx.

Hi,

Thanks for the long post...I read it very well and it opened my eye oooo..

We need to think well ..well in this country...
The effect of this mis-managment of the economy can affect us well long after the election.

It may take the next 4-8 years to rebuild the value of the Naira [4 - 8 yrs is what is the minimum to grow an industry and begin to export products enough to make an impact outside the country] .

Thanks for sharing.

Hi,

What other good investment company can help me to bid for TB.
I need one that can provide an online services as I am not always in the country. I want to invest about 1m. I heard Kakawa only does 10m now..
The wahala with Banks are getting too much...COT, delaying my bids, not roll over easily, etc.

When is the next bid.
Thx.

InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by MyMail2D: 11:11pm On Jan 11, 2013
Hi Guys,
For Kakawa, it is 5M minimum for TB in 2013 ooo..... shocked
You can invest 50k minimum in their KGIF which is like a mutual fund, but pegged at MPR rates which is about 12% (they may give you 11/11.5%). The MPR rate will change this month-Jan so it may go lower or higher !

Hi,
When is the next auction? Any indication of the direction it might go?
I expect the 2013 budget will make it go up a bit as FGN has to borrow to handle the deficit. smiley
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by MyMail2D: 5:55pm On Sep 20, 2012
Whoa.... grin
I was able to get in at 12.50%. I am now looking for another safe investment option as I am not sure of doing TBills at a lower rate.
Any update on the 14% from Access bank??
Thx.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by MyMail2D: 10:51pm On Sep 18, 2012
My investor is advising me to go for 12.5% for 182 days. Are the rates going this low? sad
Inflation is about 12%, these is making T-Bills not interesting oo...
