It is profoundly disheartening that in a nation crippled by monumental corruption, institutional decay, and pervasive economic hardship, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has elected to expend its dwindling relevance on the arrest of Business Mogul, E-Money, for the ostensible offence of spraying dollars at a public event. One is compelled to ask: is this the apex of financial crime in Nigeria? The EFCC, once envisioned as a formidable guardian of our fiscal integrity, has tragically metamorphosed into a performative agency — a toothless bulldog barking in the marketplace, seeking to impress rather than impact. Rather than channel its efforts into dismantling the entrenched networks of elite corruption, embezzlement, and fraudulent public procurement, it has chosen the path of sensationalism, pursuing high-profile figures for infractions that are, at best, symbolic. This latest arrest reeks of clout-chasing — a hollow display of authority designed to massage public sentiment while the real architects of Nigeria's economic tragedy dine unperturbed in their ivory towers. It is almost certain that E-Money, like many before him, will regain his freedom in no time, and this episode will dissolve into yet another spectacle with no meaningful consequence. Until the EFCC redirects its energies toward substantive economic crimes and the prosecution of powerful kleptocrats, it will remain a caricature of its intended purpose — loud, visible, but ultimately ineffectual. |
"In utmost sincerity, if I were fortuitously enumerated among the distinguished health personnel of Akwa Ibom State, I would, without hesitation, append my illustrious signature to the aforementioned oath with all the solemnity of a man pledging allegiance to the flag. However, let it be inscribed upon the tablets of posterity that should the celestial portals of opportunity swing open — be it in Canada, the United Kingdom, or the distant shores of New Zealand — I shall, with neither guilt nor apology, activate my diplomatic legs and migrate with the velocity of divine mandate. Loyalty is noble, but destiny, my brothers and sisters, is irresistible." |

This is a welcome development. The indigenous Ijaws and the Urhobos have been tremendously marginalized in the 3 Warri local government area. The recent delineation of wards is quite a reassurance of hope for democracy in Nigeria. Kudus to the Supreme court for the ruling. |
