PoliticsIPOB/DSS: Army Places Troops On High Alert- Punch News by myright(op): 7:00pm On Aug 27, 2020
THE military authorities have placed troops of 82 Division, Enugu , on high alert following the clash between the operatives of the Department of State Services and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra in Emene , Enugu.
It also asked troops to avoid individual movement in uniforms outside the barracks in order to prevent reprisals by IPOB members.
This is as the pro- Biafra group stated that though it had no plan for reprisal over the killing of its members in Enugu on Sunday, it had put measures in place for self- defence.
The incident, IPOB claimed , led to the death of 21 of its members, while about two DSS operatives were said to have lost their lives , even as the police in Enugu maintained that only four IPOB members were killed .
The Army, in a signal dispatched to different formations and unit commanders , also warned troops to avoid losing their weapons to criminal elements, adding that commanders must sensitise their men to maintain high alert.
The signal read, “ Following the killing of two DSS personnel at Emene and subsequent attack on Keystone station at Awgu LGA by suspected IPOB members in Enugu State, I am directed to place troops on a high state of alert .
“This is necessary to avert any attack by IPOB members on troops’ location in the AOR ( area of responsibility) . Furthermore , on no account must troops allow their weapons to be taken away by criminal elements.
“Commanders at all levels must make deliberate efforts to sensitise troops under command to maintain alertness and avoid individual movement in uniforms outside the barracks for now . Please, treat ( as) very important and act. ”
But speaking with The PUNCH on the telephone , on Wednesday , the IPOB ’ s Director of Media and Publicity , Emma Powerful, said the group had stepped -up itself for self - defence.
He said , “We are not aware of any plan for reprisal by IPOB or any group over the incident in Enugu . But I can tell you that we have upgraded and stepped -up ourselves for self - defence now. So , currently it is a case of an eye for an eye.

The Enugu Massacre of 23rd August, 2020: An Open Letter to IPOB Worldwide
By: Mazi Nnamdi Kanu
As the formidable family of IPOB Worldwide continues to mourn our braves - the # Enugu21 who fell in Defense of Freedom, I bring you the sincerest words of comfort and fortitude from the very depths of my heart.
I recognize the enormous burden this struggle has brought on our members and those that are not members but support what we do. Our various nuclear families have also suffered untold. I comfort and condole you all.
The burden of restoring Biafra is herculean and it crystallizes in the constant danger of being killed by wanton acts of Nigerian State terror unleashed by a terrorist Federal government that has successfully cowed our elected and non-elected leaders.
Since it’s now clear that those that call themselves your leaders are imprisoned by fear, I say to you - fear not; for victory and succor shall be ours in no distant future and any Biafran blood lost in this epic struggle will be requited manifold.
In my most private moments - when I reflect on this struggle and it’s fallouts- I have often been tempted, like Christ, to ask that this cup be passed from me. I’m sure you all feel the same in many fleeting moments of despair that is common with the fragile human spirit.
Yet, even as a mere mortal, I dare not relent because I know for sure that mine is a divine and generational call. I know that I must make this personal sacrifice for the collective and eternal good of our people. I ask you all to do the same, even as it is a great burden. A burden borne in blood, honor and self-denial.
Thus, I shall persevere until Biafra is restored. I ask that you do likewise. For, it is only when we demonstrate to our enemies and friends alike - the sheer will of the human mind and the indomitable spirit to free ourselves that they can take us seriously.
Yes, it’s true that we have no guns and no army but in the minds of our members lies the greatest weapon of all - the will to be free from domination and terror, the will to succeed, the will to survive, and the will to build one of the greatest nations that the world is yet to see. And soon to see.
The Biafra that lies in your spirit, the Biafra that propels you to agitate - is the greatest weapon, far greater than any guns, bullets and battle tanks. Be strengthened in the assurance that you are not alone. You are a legion.
Let this be clear: All that participate or assist in the unlawful taking of the lives of any Biafran will - thenceforth - be adequately requited through every lawful means available to us. Such lawful means include the right to self-defense, the right to repel every unlawful act of State and non-State terror.
And to those of you - Biafran or not - who have chosen the path of indifference to the human carnage and fratricide that has become Nigeria of this era, I leave you with the poignant words of Elie Wiesel, who said:
“Indifference is not a response. indifference is always the friend of the enemy, for it benefits the aggressor - never his victim - whose pain is magnified when he or she feels forgotten. And in denying their humanity, we betray our own”.
Mr Wiesel captures the true essence of true Biafrans. We are not indifferent. We are not indifferent to our own cause to be free, and the supreme sacrifices some of us have made, and still counting. It’s now up to compatriot humanity to enable us or deny their humanity by betraying us.
So, as we mourn this latest mass murder of our people, let us all take some comfort that they didn’t die in vain, they died in honor, they fell in defense of freedom and their precious blood will be best requited by our collective and abiding resolve to never back down until Biafra is restored.
We Must Continue!
Signed:
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu
Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Rossikk:
I HAVE TOLD YOU TO GO AND LEARN SIMPLE MATHEMATICS AND LOGIC, YOU SELF-HATING DUNCE, BUT YOU WILL NEVER.

Look at the two nations you are comparing with your dumb head.

UAE population - 9.6 milion

UAE Oil reserves - 97,800 million barrels

UAE oil production per year - 1133 million barrels

UAE annual budget - 50 billion dollars

Nigeria population - 200 million

Nigeria Oil reserves - 36.972 million barrels

Nigeria oil production per year - 730 million barrels

Nigeria annual budget 35 billion dollars.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_proven_oil_reserves

So, here we have a country of under 10 million people, with TWICE Nigeria's oil reserves and DOUBLE Nigeria's yearly output, making roughly DOUBLE what Nigeria makes from oil and gas per year, and yet you are posting a thread comparing the two and asking why Nigeria does not produce as much of whatever as UAE.

I mean, is your IQ really this low?

UAE can invest UNTOLD AMOUNTS into any project they wish, in ANY quantity they wish.

What else will they do with their money?

Less than 1 billion dollars can comfortably feed and house their 9 million population in a year.

Their leaders can steal 3/4 of their annual budget and still be able to invest billions of dollars into power each MONTH.

Their leaders are the richest oil sheikhs who deposit billions into their bank accounts each month and live in huge mansions in Europe and America.

SO GROW A DAMN BRAIN, AND STOP COMPARING A STRUGGLING NATION LIKE NIGERIA, WITH ITS TINY OIL INCOME FOR 200 MILLION FOLKS, AND IS IN DESPERATE NEED OF ECONOMIC DIVERSIFICATION, TO TINY OIL RICH GULF STATES DROWNING IN MONEY WITH NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SAID MONEY. COMPRENDE?
Why are you against the disintegration of Nigeria into smaller countries so that it she could be easily governed?
