Health / Re: Bath With Salt Water Before 5:00 Am How Real? by mysterious12(m): 6:38am On Aug 08, 2014 |
Godwinsilas: I want to confirm if you have been getting this calls saying you should go and bath with salt and hot water before 5:00 am this morning. These aren't prank messages, the salt solution is hypertonic and thus needs to be diluted, hence the bacteria or virus will shrink and die by loosing its water content to the salt, and this is how it is preventive, but tho this is a weak antiseptic and also non-toxic, it may not be as effective as an alcohol (methanol, ethanol, propanol, etc), and don't even think of using alcohol (toxic).and it not 100% guarantee prevention , only reduces your chances. |

Nmaudu: umm you do not directly insert the blood to the affected person, duuhh, when you can't give humans a wrong blood type (they undergo severe hemolytic reaction, red blood cells are destroyed, shock, kidney failure, etc). what am saying is that the blood serum is the source which the antidote will be derived from. darqly: So someone woke my wife this morning urging her to bathe us all in salt water, and also rub salt ALL over ourselves to stave off the Ebola virus. Needless to say we have been arguing over this as she has already polished our son with table salt since the warning came from her mumit doesn't cure, it prevents. put a table spoon in a bucket of water, not rubbing directly, only effective in aqeous state |

People are so negligent about little things, salt is a non-toxic antiseptic. Its known for a long time, only to the non-ignorant . Take a little research and ask doctors questions and know more. Nigerians are so negligent and it pisses me off, instead for us to enlighten ourselves we criticise ourselves. How will we ever change? when will we ever change? 1 Like |

Health / Orange Is Very Medicinal! :o by mysterious12(m): 2:11am On Aug 08, 2014 |
1. Boosts your immunity A single orange can meet more than 100% of your daily requirement of Vitamin C. This vital nutrient helps improve your immunity, keeping you free from diseases and infections. Here are some more immunity boosting foods. 2. Good for your skin As we grow older, our skin along with other body parts suffers from free radical damage. This process is similar to how metals rust after exposure to air. Even though it is inevitable, oranges are packed with antioxidants and Vitamin C which slows down the process and makes you look younger than your age! Besides oranges, you can eat these fruits and vegetables for glowing skin! 3. Great for your eyes Along with our skin, our eyes too suffers from damage as we grow older. Oranges are rich in nutrients like Vitamin A, Vitamin C and potassium which are great for your eyes. So, if you want your vision to be just as good as it is now, eat an orange every day! 4. Prevents heart disease One of the reasons why people get heart disease is because their arteries are blocked due to unhealthy lifestyles and consumption of junk food. Oranges have flavonoids like hesperidin which reduces cholesterol and prevents your arteries from getting blocked. This, in turn protects you from heart attack and various other cardiovascular diseases. Alternatively, you could try these 8 natural cholesterol busters. 5. Helps in brain development Folate and folic acid present in oranges promote brain development and keep the vital organ in mint condition. In fact, these nutrients also make orange a healthy fruit for pregnant woman as it prevents the baby from having neurological disorders later. 6. Prevents cancer Having cancer can be a tough and harrowing experience for both the patient and the caregiver. Research has shown that a compound called D – limonene present in oranges can prevent various types of cancer like lung cancer, breast cancer, skin cancer, etc. Additionally, the antioxidants and Vitamin C help promote the body’s immunity which helps in fighting cancer cells. Here are some food habits to keep cancer at bay. 7. Keeps you free from stomach ulcers Oranges are a very good source of fibre which helps keep your stomach and intestines healthy. A diet rich in fibre will ensure that you are not affected with ailments like stomach ulcers and constipation. 8. Improves the quality of your sperm Death is inevitable, but our legacy may live on through our offspring. The antioxidants and Vitamin C present in most fruits, including oranges improves the quality and motility of your sperm thus keeping you fertile. You can also try these foods to make your sperm a champion swimmer! 9. Great for diabetics People who have diabetes are unable to absorb glucose since the beta-cells present in their pancreas either fail to produce insulin or the body’s cells are unable to respond to the insulin produced. Oranges are high in fibre and have a high glycaemic index which makes it a good food option for diabetics. Also worth mentioning is that good oranges have a sweet taste, and since diabetics aren’t allowed to eat sweets or other sugary foods, they can eat oranges to tingle their taste buds. 10. Prevents hair loss Orange has high Vitamin C content which is required for producing collagen which, in turn, is responsible for keeping the tissues in your hair together. Nobody likes bald patches on their head, and eating oranges can ensure that you do not have to part with your lovely hair as you grow older. Tip: When you cut an orange, make sure you do it in a way that the inner peel doesn’t come off since it is very nutritious and has higher amounts of hesperidin than the flesh itself. |
Health / Ebola Awareness by mysterious12(m): 1:06am On Aug 08, 2014 |
Ebola virus disease (EVD) or Ebola hemorrhagic fever (EHF) is the human disease caused by the Ebola virus. Symptoms typically start two days to three weeks after contracting the virus, with a fever, sore throat, muscle pains, and headaches. Typically nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea follow, along with decreased functioning of the liver and kidneys. At this point, some people begin to have bleeding problems.[1] The virus may be acquired upon contact with blood or bodily fluids of an infected animal (commonly monkeys or fruit bats).[1] Spread through the air has not been documented in the natural environment.[2] Fruit bats are believed to carry and spread the virus without being affected. Once human infection occurs, the disease may spread between people as well. Male survivors may be able to transmit the disease via semen for nearly two months. In order to make the diagnosis, typically other diseases with similar symptoms such as malaria, cholera and other viral hemorrhagic fevers are first excluded. To confirm the diagnosis blood samples are tested for viral antibodies, viral RNA, or the virus itself.[1] Prevention includes decreasing the spread of disease from infected monkeys and pigs to humans. This may be done by checking such animals for infection and killing and properly disposing of the bodies if the disease is discovered. Properly cooking meat and wearing protective clothing when handling meat may also be helpful, as are wearing protective clothing and washing hands when around a person with the disease. Samples of bodily fluids and tissues from people with the disease should be handled with special caution.[1] Signs and symptoms of Ebola usually begin suddenly with a flu-like stage characterized by fatigue, fever, headaches, and joint, muscle, and abdominal pain.[9][10] Vomiting, diarrhea and loss of appetite are also common.[10] Less common symptoms include the following: sore throat, chest pain, hiccups, shortness of breath and trouble swallowing.[10] The average time between contracting the infection and the start of symptoms is 8 to 10 days, but it can vary between 2 and 21 days.[10] Skin manifestations may include a maculopapular rash (in about 50% of cases).[11] Early symptoms of EVD may be similar to those of malaria, dengue fever, or other tropical fevers, before the disease progresses to the bleeding phase.[9] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebola_virus_disease |

Health / Ebola Most Possible Cure by mysterious12(m): 9:51pm On Aug 07, 2014 |
The blood serum of an alligator is very immune to lots of bacteria, viruses etc. A test was carried out to compare the humans serum and the alligator serum. Each of this serum was imposed on 25 strains of bacteria, the human serum killed 8, and the alligator serum killed all the strains of the bacteria. What am arriving at, is that the alligator has survived the fittest for millions of years(Charles Darwins theory), and their immune system is ferocious it can cure HIV even, so why wouldn't it cure Ebola. Do not leave my thesis unheeded, I am 95% sure if not 100% this will be an effective cure (positive) for Ebola. |
