In the past months having to withdraw money via the ATMs here in PH has been a thing I have come to dread. One can't spend less than 30 mins and that's if the cash doesn't finish before it gets to your turn. This past Tuesday is one I won't forget in a hurry. Moving from one ATM location to the other almost all over the city. Please what's the situation in your various locations? Or is it only a PH thing? |
If you have never been served from this kinda basin, your 'Nigerianess' may be debatable. ![]()

Malabo is beautiful, but I guess you haven't been to other rural/'slummish' areas of the capital. As for the oil they are enjoying, you can't be so sure about that. martineinstein: |

According to Daily Trust; The Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said it will take over the national leadership of the party and swiftly roll out policies and programmes aimed electing credible officers to reposition the party. Addressing a press conference last night in Abuja, the BOT secretary, Ambassador Ojo Madueke, said the board could not fold its arms and watch the party go into extinction, adding that the BOT was consulting with the PDP governors and the Ahmed Makarfi-led caretaker committee to save the party from "imminent collapse." Ambassador Madueke, a former national secretary of the party also said "the current crisis is too useful to be wasted" explaining that the party elders have decided not to allow the embattled national chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff to "burry the party." The BOT said the party lost valuable time since its defeat at the 2015 general elections because of "impunity" pointing out that the party needed to learn from its past mistakes in order for it to regain power at the centre in 2019. He said the ruling party was in need of a very strong opposition that would keep it in check, adding that if there are two conflicting judgements, the BoT must wade in. "We wish to appeal to our members who as a matter of ensuring their morale and political health of the party will be in receipt of announcements by the BOT of programmes and policies that will see to the election of credible officers and reposition the party to meet the yearnings of millions of Nigerians," he said. However, Madueke did not explain how the BOT will take over from Sheriff and under which section of the PDP constitution it will derive its powers. Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo says Nigeria is facing a very dire situation on power supply. He was speaking in Lusaka, Zambia, yesterday at the commencement of the African Development Bank (AfDB) annual general meeting, with the theme "Energy and Climate Change". According to him, 45 percent of those who lack access to power in the world are from Africa with "almost half of that African share are in Nigeria." "We are faced with a very dire situation, and in most of Africa, we simply don't have power and without power, there is very little that can be done," he stated. He added: "For us, priority today is development, and we have to take development seriously. We think that renewable energy and all of the concern about climate change are important, but we must prioritise development." He noted that Nigeria is one of the major hydro-carbon enriched nations; the situation which, according to him, makes fossil fuel important. The vice president described coal as equally important, saying Nigeria had to leverage all it could get from fossil fuel. He also told the session that Nigeria has the capacity for solar energy and would tap into it, stating however that "We are dealing with a major developmental problem." He, however, explained the limitations of solar power, saying "We must bear in mind that for industries, the base load power is critical and is so much more difficult to get from solar power. So, we must understand that our immediate need requires the base load power that can move us forward quickly, and that we would get from fossil fuel, hydro power and coal fire plants."
