Two suicide bombers killed at least 31 people and injured 38 others in a crowded market in the northeast Nigeria city of Yola after faking a fight, police said Friday.
The bombers with explosives strapped to their bodies entered the Jimeta Main Market after sundown on Thursday and “pretended to be fighting”, said area police spokesman Othman Abubakar.
The staged fight between the two men “attracted the attention of people nearby to see what was happening,” he told AFP.
“When people had gathered they detonated their explosives… They killed a sizeable number of people,” he added.
The coordinator for the National Emergency Management Agency in Yola, Sa’ad Bello, gave casualty figures of 31 dead and 38 injured.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility but fingers will likely be pointed at Boko Haram, which has carried out several attacks in the north of the state in recent weeks.
Yola has also suffered attacks, but not in recent years. It had come to be seen as a relative safe haven for hundreds of thousands of people forced to flee their homes further north because of the violence.
The Yola attack came hours after a suspected suicide bombing at a checkpoint outside a military barracks in Maiduguri, the capital of neighbouring Borno state that killed four people...... 'VANGUARD NEWS'

I only smell destruction for those groups calling for independence ... One thing they failed to know is that , all this region had been given allocation and security votes but nothing to show for, hence the same people called your sons didn't see it fit to rule you well ... But the leverage is there, since you can always go to other regions in Nigeria to have relief .. With this call for isolation the situation would be dire as their wouldn't be a place for easy succur ... And the dominance by your sons would be severe with no one to help you.... One thing is certain for those of us whose parents have broken the barrier of tribes and marry people from other tribe.. We would be having dual , trio etc citizenship. Depending on how mixed you are ...

This is a sham....I repeat its a sham.
Many questions un-answered... What's the beads made of : organic or inorganic material, if organic what nature is it, the strings .... Investigation should go beyond the child ... But they was another genocide way greater than any killings. It's called the Biafra war and the culprits are still walking freely. Nairaland is own by a Yoruba and widely put into services by Nigerians and foreign nationals. Apparently, most of the moderators are Yoruba too.
