Politics / Who Killed Pastor Adewale Omojuwa, Former OSOPADEC Chairman? by Mywifeisawitch: 9:28am On Jun 07, 2020
Pastor Adewale Omojuwa hailed from Ilowo in Ugbo ward 3, Ilaje Local Government. The same community with Olusola Oke. He was averagely educated.

Pastor Adewale Omojuwa was a very deep religious person in his early life. He was a professional drummer in the seraphim and cherubim church of God in the riverine. That is what is prevalent in Ilaje today.

He later relocated to Igbokoda and became a dry cleaner at Larada, beside Adeb Hotel.

Being a kinsmen to Oke and also a very clever person with native intelligence, he, Oke, brought him closer to complement him politically. In the days of yore, religion had much influence than what we have today in Ilaje. So, Oke needed Omojuwa more.

In the days of the PDP, Oke made Omojuwa the secretary of the party. He later promoted him to become the local government party chairman. He later became member, OSOPADEC and finally rose to become the chairman of OSOPADEC.

All of a sudden, Pastor Adewale Omojuwa became a serious threat to Olusola Oke when he wanted to go to Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC. The simple reason was that Omojuwa was more generous than Oke. Oke, having realized this fact of life, pretended as if he was in tune with his ambition, as usual. Alas, Oke asked pastor Omojuwa to change his money to dollars that some people needed the money in Abuja in fulfillment of his ambition. Eventually, the money didn’t get to Abuja. That was how Oke collected all the money Omojuwa made in OSOPADEC in order to reduce his political value and influence.

It was during this unrealistic ambition Omojuwa had accident along Ore-Ondo road when he was rushing to go and give his mater some money meant for Abuja. Since that time, Omojuwa never got himself.

When Omojuwa discovered that all the money he sent through his boss didn’t get to Abuja, the man developed blood pressure, high sugar level, diabetes and other associated illness. Here we are today. Who killed Omojuwa?

Adewale vowed that he will never support Oke again in his life. That was why he supported Jimi Odimayo as his DG. Was it not funny to you that Omojuwa did not support Oke? Why did he support Odimayo instead of Oke?

The last straw that broke the camel’s back was the meeting of Unity Forum Olusola Oke attended today after the news of Omojuwa’s death broke out. It means he gives premium to his ambition over and above human life. His attendance gives credence to the fact that Oke is happy over the death of Omojuwa.

Don’t be surprised, Oke is going to give the most beautiful speech and shed crocodile tears at the line in state or burial ceremony.

May his soul Rest In Peace.

Politics / “ibo Eripato”: Olusola Oke Is Not Fit To Govern Ondo State. by Mywifeisawitch: 9:09am On Jun 07, 2020
In the year 2000 when Olusola Oke was nominated as the representative of Ondo State on the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission,NDDC, the youths of Ilaje protested against his nomination owing to his corrupt nature. Despite the protest, Olusegun Obasanjo still went ahead and Olusola Oke emerged.

As if the youths were prophets, so many corrupt practices were perpetrated and that Board was enveloped in unprecedented corruption.

One of the numerous atrocities of Olusola Oke was fake water projects running to billions of naira. What Oke did was to award these water projects without project location. He called the project location as “Ibo eripato”. This community is non-existent, it is an imaginary location.

When prominent Ilaje sons and daughters got wind of this development, they wrote to the EFCC. After investigation, Olusola Oke was indicted by the financial watchdog.

That was the golden opportunity Ilaje had to have portable water, but Oke, out of greed squandered the opportunity. Today, Ilaje live on water and have no water to drink.

The question is that: if he could do this to his own people, what will he do when he comes to a larger picture? If Oke were the governor, he would have suggested to the Zenith back that the discovered N4.3b be shared between him and the bank.

Politics / Revised Budget: FG Gives National Assembly N27bn For Renovation, Cuts Health, UB by Mywifeisawitch: 4:52am On Jun 03, 2020
The Federal Government has reduced the N 37 bn budget for the renovation of the National Assembly complex to N 27 . 7 bn .
The Federal Government , in the 2020 revised budget proposal , according to documents obtained by our correspondent on Tuesday , cut N 9 . 3 bn from the budget for the renovation of the National Assembly complex .
The renovation of the complex at the initial cost of N 37 bn , which is to be executed by the Federal Capital Territory Administration, attracted criticisms from a large section of Nigerians last year .
However, following the drop in the price of crude oil and a fall in the projected government revenue , it was learnt that the Federal Government decided to reduce the budget for the renovation.
The President , Major General Muhammadu Buhari ( retd. ) , had on Thursday presented the 2020 Appropriation Act ( amendment) Bill to the National Assembly , which both the Senate and the House passed for second reading same day .
Buhari explained that the amendment became necessary in view of the sharp decline in crude oil prices and the cut in Nigeria’ s crude oil production quota occasioned by the COVID -19 pandemic.
Basic health care slashed by 42 . 5 per cent
In the proposed revised budget, while the National Assembly complex renovation budget was reduced to N 27 . 7 bn ( a reduction of 25 .1 per cent ) , the Basic Health Care Provision Fund , which is meant to cater for all the primary healthcare centres across the 774 local government areas in the country , was significantly reduced by N 44 . 4 bn to N 25 . 5 bn , a decrease of more than 42 . 5 per cent
The BHCPF is made up of one per cent of the Federal Government Consolidated Revenue from international partners such as the World Bank , Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the United States Agency for International Development.
It is the fundamental funding provision under the National Health Act and was appropriated for the first time in the 2018 budget since the Act was signed in 2014 .
UBE fund reduced by over 54 . 25 %
The Universal Basic Education fund was also reduced significantly from N 111. 7 bn to N 51 .1 bn , by more than 54 .2 per cent , according to documents obtained by Dataphyte, an open data organisation .
The UBE is a reform programme aimed at providing greater access to quality basic education throughout Nigeria .
It seeks to ensure an uninterrupted access to nine-year formal education by providing free , and compulsory basic education for every child of school- going age .
N ’ Assembly , NJI’ s allocations cut by 10 %
Incidentally, the budget for the National Assembly which was N 128 bn was cut by only 10 per cent , bringing its revised total budget to N 115 .2 bn .
The same calculation was applied to the National Judicial Council as its N 110bn original budget was reduced by just 10 per cent , bringing it down to N 99 bn .
Cut in critical sectors’ allocations , a setback – Dataphyte
Speaking with The PUNCH on Tuesday , the Founder, Dataphyte, Mr Joshua Olufemi , described the cuts in critical sectors like education and health as a setback to Nigeria ’s quest for development .
Olufemi said , “ But the bigger dilemma borders on Nigeria ’s priority. While budgetary allocations to the National Judicial Council, National Assembly , Independent National Electoral Commission , and other agencies of government have been reduced only by about 10 per cent respectively , budgetary provision for education is reduced by close to 55 per cent .
“ Similarly , provision for basic health care fund is reduced by over 42 per cent . With the reality of the COVID -19 pandemic, reduction in budgetary share for education and healthcare does not reflect the prioritisation of the citizen ’ s real needs .
“ With the growing number of COVID - 19 cases in the country , an increase in budget share to the health sector is expected. To expand education access to the teeming Nigerian schoolchildren who are deprived of education during this period, additional budgetary commitment is also required . This is to cover up the cost of setting up virtual learning alternatives .”

Politics / Senate Considers Reversal Of Power Privatisation by Mywifeisawitch: 5:33am On May 20, 2020
The Senate on Tuesday asked the Federal Government to consider a comprehensive review of the power privatisation policy with a view to reversing the current arrangement.
The red chamber said Nigerians would not enjoy stable power supply in the next 10 years if the activities of the distribution companies were not reviewed and restructured .
The Senate President , Ahmad Lawan , stated this on Tuesday after the Senate had considered and approved a motion by Senator Gabriel Suswan on the power sector recovery plan .
He said , “ We gave power to them ( power generation and distribution companies ) and they still come to the public to ask for funds.
“ I think it ’ s time for Nigeria to consider reversing the privatisation of the power sector or they should just cancel the entire privatisation process completely .
“ If we leave it , we may not have power for another 10 years.”
Lawan said, “ The privatisation of the power sector has , so far , not been successful. We expected efficiency and effectiveness in the power supply .
“ The Discos have no capacity to supply us power . The Gencos have challenges too .
“ It is not a good commentary that we should continue to give them money . They ’re private businesses . We need to review this privatisation .
“ Our committee needs to investigate trillions spent. That ’s a lot of money .
“ Try to find out what has happened so far. Government needs to look at this whole thing .
“ Maybe , government is not doing its own part . We need to find out .
“ There is lack of capital, lack of investment. We feel very bad because we have no electricity and the country is suffering. ”
The Senate also urged the Federal Government to suspend the planned electricity tariff increase due to take effect from July given the increased hardship occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic.
The upper chamber also commended the Federal Government for the proactive initiative to establish the N 1. 7 tn Covid- 19 crisis intervention fund to cater for critical issues on effective management of the pandemic.
Suswam , had while leading debate on the general principles of the bill , said stable and uninterrupted power supply was also a critical factor in management of COVID -19 pandemic patients at the designated isolation and treatment centres across the country .

Politics / Ondo 2020- Wale Williams Pledges Allegiance To Olusola Oke by Mywifeisawitch: 10:35am On May 17, 2020
Just as the Ondo Gubernatorial election draws nearer with the Independent Nationals electoral commission declaring that Candiates for the election can go ahead with the electronic campaign which was necissated as a result of the social distancing rule caused by the Covid-19 virus which has affected not only Ondo State but also the rest of the world.

Hon Wale Williams a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly from Ondo West has declared his support and loyalty to Chief Olusola Oke, a Gubernitorial hopeful under the caucus of the APC Unity Party in Ondo State. Politics / Ondo State Governor's Son Speaks On Recovered N4.3B by Mywifeisawitch: 3:51pm On May 15, 2020
I FOUND THE 4 BILLION! YOU ALSO CAN TOO. YOU CAN FIND IT IN THE SALARY ARREARS!

LOL. I've been reading a lot of this whole 4 Billion house Saga. I don't even have to be an insider to be able to Follow The Money. My analysis as a citizen of Ondo State.

1. The Auditor general report that is being "leaked" was from 2018. Auditor general is an arm of the executive so it came from the executive. That means there must be a record somewhere approved by the administration. Where can one find a record of revenue of the State? The state budget. The budget is public at ondobudget.com

2. To know what happened in 2018, you have to review the 2019 budget summary for an actual revenue generated by the state in 2018. In 2018, there is a line item called "Cash Reserves and Rollover fund" of over 4 Billion.

Hmmm.

Is a 4 billion "cash reserves fund" regular in Ondo State? I reviewed all the other budgets from 2017, 2019 and 2020 and found that this was a unique year for rollover.

Oh look! I found the money in three clicks.

3. Then I asked myself, should 4Billion be an issue or should it be treated politically? I reviewed many of the other revenue generated and there are three other major revenue that were 2 to 3 times this figure that weren't politicized.

Noise most unnecessary.

4. Then I asked. Ok, what exactly is 4 billion in the grand scheme of a state budget; Overall revenue for 2018 was N106B and actual budget was N181B. So budget performance was still only 58.5%. So even with that extra 4 billion, the state could barely meet half of its budgeted obligations.

5. Then I asked again, your total revenue in 2018 is N106B. How much of your money is capital vs recurrent expenditure? Since the administration is quite loud about its prompt payment of salaries and arrears.

According to NBS/Budgit, Ondo state has on average spent around 86% of its revenue on recurrent expenditure (salaries and pensions etc). So in summary, odds are that of that 4.3 Billon, 86% was spent on paying salaries and arrears.

Maybe that explains why in 2018, more arrears were paid than any other year of this administration. (Not to take away from the Paris club refund. That was a major factor also)

I have only 2 questions.

1. This was from 2018 and the audited report was submitted from the executive to the house since then. Why is it coming up now? This is rhetorical.

We all know why. It is all part of the game. This administration must play. 2020 LOADING! BATTLE OF THE SANS. One was called customer daa da in 2016. The contender is the new customer daa da.

I dont think it is a good strategy though. Records are public, there has been 2 budget defenses, hearings and all that senrere before now and no one thought to bring it up? Was the chairman of this committee sleeping on the job all this while?

2. Why isn't anyone actually following the money? Lol, it is all there. The internet is a powerful tool people. USE IT TO DEVELOP YOURSELF!

We are probing 2018 when we ought to be asking the executive; what is the plan for a state post covid. What happens in 2020 and beyond when there is no more FAAC.

Covid has obliterated all revenues of all tiers of govt. The past is irrelevant, it is the future that matters.

We are playing around here. Let us continue to play politics with our future.

-----

In the meantime, I've had the opportunity of chatting with the SSA on Innovation and Partnerships Joel Ogunsola who is working with the Chairman of the Internal Revenue Service on a strategy for an Ondo State post Covid. They have superb ideas the state is looking to implement.

I've contributed a detailed economic analysis developed by our friends at Dalberg on new economic opportunities in this Covid era to assist with their work. We are hopeful that this information will assist the state in developing promising solutions that will help the economy.

Crime / Ondo State Government Uncovers 10 Years Old N4.3b Secret Account by Mywifeisawitch: 2:32pm On May 14, 2020
The Ondo State Government wishes to put the records in respect of the above subject matter.

We recall that at inception of this administration, concerted efforts were made to take a comprehensive inventory of all assets and liabilities of Government which include liquidity status.

This exercise, modestly conducted without the usual noise, was aimed at avoiding sensationalization and needless acrimony. In this regard, all development partners of the Government, including Banks rendered highly commendable forms of assistance.

In his vigilance through discrete financial intelligence, the Hon Commissioner for Finance was able to stumble on the account in question and deposited fund promptly reported. Same has also reflected in the records of the State for proper accountability and transparency.

It should be noted that neither the Finance Commissioner nor the Accountant-General was in his present position as at when the said account was opened more than ten years ago.

The invitation of the Finance Commissioner by the House of Assembly and indeed, same extended to both the State Accountant-General and the Auditor-General are in line with Government's desire to make as transparent as possible, the management of our commonwealth in Ondo State.

Signed

Donald Ojogo
Hon. Commissioner for Information and Orientation

Politics / Ondo Gov: APC Factional Group Picks Oke, Boroffice Kicks by Mywifeisawitch: 3:06am On May 13, 2020
Supporters of the All Progressives Congress under the aegis of APC Unity Forum in Ondo State , has announced Chief Olusola Oke , as its consensus candidate for the forthcoming governorship election .
Oke was a candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Alliance for Democracy in the 2012 and 2016 governorship elections, respectively.
With the current development, Oke would be facing Governor Rotimi Akeredolu , Isaac Kekemeke and Olusola Iji at the APC governorship primary in July .
The chairman of the group and former deputy governor of the state , Alhaji Ali Olanusi, announced the Unity Forum ’s choice in a statement issued after the group ’s meeting in Akure , on Tuesday .
Olanusi said, “ Considering the mood of the state and continuous ban on political meetings and the fact that INEC has given its nod for electronic campaign , we hereby present to the public the long awaited report of the Ondo APC Unity Forum concerning its governorship aspirant for the 2020 governorship election in Ondo State , as presented by the Gubernatorial Candidate Selection Committee .
“ The Unity Forum, by the content of the report has adopted Chief Olusola Oke , SAN, as the candidate of the forum . All the leaders and members of the Unity Forum are hereby enjoined to begin mobilisation across the state for the candidate of the forum. ”
This decision however did not go down well with some leading members of the forum.
For instance , the Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District , Ajayi Boroffice, who spoke through his media aide , Mr Kayode Fakuyi, said , “ When the idea of consensus candidacy was mooted , the understanding was that all seven members of the Gubernatorial Candidate Selection Committee must unanimously agree on a consensus candidate but that condition has not been met .”
Also, Mr Dapo Adelegan , said, “ To the best of our understanding , the other aspirants are still discussing amongst themselves on the possibility of a consensus candidate .”
Also, the Secretary of the Gubernatorial Aspirants Selection Committee of the forum, Prof . Sola Ehindero , in a statement rejected the idea .
He said, “ As the secretary to the committee and custodian of all its delineations and records of the committee , I wish to call the attention of all members of the forum in particular and the public at large that Ali Olanusi is not appropriately qualified and morally empowered to issue any report on the committee ’s deliberations.
“ No input has been made into the report by other members of the parent body which originally set up the screening committee , that is , the report is yet to be brought to the general meeting of the Unity Forum for consideration , and as of today ( Tuesday ) , no consensus candidate has been elected by the committee for which I am secretary. ”
