The total number of tests conducted to date is 3 278 977 with 11 483 new tests conducted since the last report.

Regrettably we report 130 new COVID-19 related deaths: 20 from Eastern Cape, 35 from Gauteng, 30 from KwaZulu Natal, 20 from North West, 25 from Western Cape. This brings the cumulative total of reported COVID-19 related deaths to 10 751

The number of recoveries currently stands at 426 125 which translates to a recovery rate of 75%.

you welcome. you guys are trying as well. i remember just at the start of the pandemic watching one sky news reporting about the situation in SA almost gloating how you would find it hard to cope because of hiv bla bla. i'm sure the situation has humbled him and every western country to be more circumspect when predicting gloom for other countries.

I think we as Africans must stand together and not be divided as the enemies of our continent want. This thing of Nigeria is the giant of Africa or South Africa is not helping at all. With that being said I believe we must hold our governments accountable for a better live for all the people.

reports of deaths cant be hidden. i will give you an example during the early days of the pandemic here there were reports of mysterious deaths in kano and unusual number of burials taking place at the mortuaries. these were outside of the usually declared numbers of infected, recoveries and deaths.

since then there hasnt been reports of large numbers of people dying. if people were dying in large numbers it would reflect in the numbers deposited at mortuaries and burial grounds. could the number of deaths be higher than reported? of course same for every country but if hospitals, mortuaries are not reporting being overwhelmed then it's only logical to assume the death rate is very low.

Trust me if people were dying in huge number the media would have reported it at least the international one's would have.

our testing capacity is limited so we most probably have way more than we have stated officially. that said if our infection rate was out of control it reflect in our number of deaths which is thankfully low compared to other large populated countries. hoping God willing we can keep it this way till the vaccine becomes largely available

But don't you think that if your testing capacity is low then also the reporting on death cases are also incorrect.

I'm just wondering how it is possible that Lagos doesn't have more Covid-19 cases than Johannesburg. Why the low numbers for Nigeria as a whole. It is not an attack on Nigeria or anyone from Nigeria, I am just wondering.

The total number of tests conducted to date is 3 267 494 with 16 911 new tests conducted since the last report.

Regrettably we report 213 new COVID-19 related deaths: 57 from Eastern Cape, 39 from Gauteng, 11 from KwaZulu Natal, 64 from the Free State, 10 from Mpumalanga, 30 from Western Cape and 2 from Northern Cape. This brings the cumulative total of reported COVID-19 related deaths to 10 621.

We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased.

The number of recoveries currently stands at 417 200 which translates to a recovery rate of 74%.
