The warning was disclosed by the police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti, on behalf of the CP. This was followed by the complaint by the PDP Governorship candidate, Mr. Jimi Agbaje to CP Edgal.
Oti said that on 1st December, 2018, at about 0915hrs, a complaint was received from the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, to the effect that his campaign boards were vandalized and removed by unknown persons.
The complainant went further to post his concern on the social media alleging the vandalisation and removal of the aforementioned items. To this end, the CP directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti Yaba, to set up a monitoring team of comprising the Command’s Riders unit, to daily monitor and arrest anybody seen vandalising or defacing campaign posters or boards.
In addition, the Commissioner of Police has directed that invitation letters be sent to State Chairmen of all political parties in the state, their flag bearers, INEC and other stakeholders for a meeting scheduled to hold on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at 11am, at the Police Officers’ Mess, GRA, Ikeja.
This is to further drive home the fact that there is no alternative to peace and the need for all political parties, their candidates and supporters to shun acts capable of breaching the public peace.
He said “constrained by limited manpower, there is no way the Command could post policemen to cover all campaign posters in the state but the much it can do, is to adopt the Aberdeen System in protecting campaign adverts and to solicit the cooperation of all and sundry in ensuring the maintenance of law and order”.
Investigation revealed that it was not only Agbaje that had experienced such vandalization before now, other candidates had complained about their posters being removed and torn by unknown persons in various areas of the State.

Enugu Rangers yesterday defeated Kano Pillars 4-2 on penalties, after a 3-3 draw at full time to win the 2018 Aiteo Cup.


The game at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta state started at a high tempo with Kan Pillars taking the lead as early as the fifth minute when veteran Rabiu Ali fired in a ball through to him by Nwagua into the net.One goal became two when Ibrahim Alassan's corner kick was pushed in by Rangers goalkeeper Femi Thomas in the 20th minute.


The first half ended 2-0 in favour of Kano Pillars.Nwagua scored the third for Rangers just after resumption.

Kelvin Itoya gave Rangers some hope when he scored a screamer in the 77th minute.Chidera Ezeh gave the Flying Antelopes a lifeline when he scored the second goal for Rangers in the 82nd minute.The turning point of the game was when Ajani Ibrahim produced an unbelievable effort to level the scores and send the game to penalties after additional time.

The game went to penalties and Enugu Rangers completed a comeback to win the penalty shootout 4-2 after Rabiu Ali failed to score the first spot kick.

On 17th of this month,Rangers players alongside their coach visited Father Mbaka's Adoration Ministry where he anointed them for the match and some of their other matches.He urged to go victoriously with favour.Everybody who watched the match will attest that it was a miraculous comeback

It should be recalled that the journalist
published a  video clip showing Kano Governor Ganduje receiving a bribe from contractors, a claim the governor has denied.

Gov. Ben Ayade of Cross River State has flagged off the Nigerian Army operation crocodile smile III exercise in Bakassi local government area to check cases of kidnapping, militancy and armed robbery.
Ayade, who performed the exercise on Tuesday, said it would also help to maintain peace and orderliness during the annual Calabar festival and the 2019 polls.

According to him, the exercise will also reduce the proliferation of arms through the Cameroon border at Ikang in Bakassi.
The governor added that the Nigerian Army has remained disciplined and very professional in the discharge of their constitutional duties.

The Governor called on all security agencies to work in harmony with a view to bringing the security challenges across the country under control.

"As the 2019 general elections draw closer, I want to use this opportunity to warn politicians to desist from moving arms and sponsoring violence at polling units.

"As the Chief Security Officer of the state, I will work with security agencies to ensure that anyone caught is prosecuted,’’ he said.

In his own remarks, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General. Tukur Buratai, disclosed that the operation was a training exercise aimed at enhancing internal security operations by the Army.
The COAS, who was represented by Maj. Gen. Emmanuel Kabuk, the General Officer Commanding 82 Division, Enugu, said that the operation was a training exercise to help soldiers of 13 Brigade horn their military capabilities.

According to him, the exercise was designed to include riverine and land operations with a view to monitoring the creeks by tackling kidnapping of personalities, militancy and curbing the menace of armed robbery.

"This exercise has been designed to enable officers and soldiers of 13 Brigade to show their proficiency in internal security.

"The land operation will be conducted to check armed robbery, communal clashes, stop and search of vehicles among others.

"The riverine operation will equally help us to check the activities of militancy and kidnapping of personalities across the creeks.

"In addition to the exercise, we will also carry out medical outreach in host communities and schools.

"As we do this, it will also help us to maintain peace and order and create a conducive environment as we approach the 2019 general elections,’’ he said.

He urged the soldiers to deal with criminals based on the rules of engagement.
The Commander of 13 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Calabar, Brig.-Gen. Charles Okulide, disclosed that 800 security personnel drawn from the Army, Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence and Immigration would be participating in the one month exercise.
Okulide said that the initiative was to foster inter-agency relationship among security agencies in the state, thereby expressing confidence that the exercise will be hitch free.
According to him, the Brigade has made giant efforts in curbing heinous crime in the state through the sustained collaboration of other security agencies

'I took out time out today to get a reliable mechanic to fix my truck . I was directed by a friend to visit a place in my constituency. Getting there, I met these pretty young female mechanics. I engaged them in a discussion and to my great surprise, they shuttle between secondary school and apprenticeship. Before leaving, I donated to their training by providing money for the necessary tools needed to continue working'

Buhari, Gowon, Jonathan charge traditional rulers on fostering unity, as Obaseki assures on Benin Royal Museum project

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday in Benin called on traditional rulers across the country to continue to build bridges of unity and oneness to promote national development.

Buhari made the call at the official launch of the Book Entitled "The Benin Monarchy, an Anthology of Benin History" held in Benin City on Saturday in commemoration of the 2nd coronation anniversary of the Benin Monarch, Oba Ewuare II.

Former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (rtd.) also commended the Benin monarchy for the remarkable effort to tell the history of the Benin Kingdom to avoid distortion that may arise from allowing others to seize the narrative.

In his remark, Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki assured on plans to build the Benin Royal Museum to preserve Benin heritage and retrieve stolen artefacts.

President Buhari, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha commended the good relationship that exists between the Sultanate and the Benin Kingdom, saying it should cut across the country.

He said that traditional institutions must continue to stay abreast with the digital changes in the world and should not allow the changes affect the preservation of customs, languages and traditions of the people.

Buhari congratulated the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II and the council of chiefs for preserving the Benin culture, saying that the Benin kingdom is a role model to others.

He further called on traditional rulers across the country to join the federal government in preaching against hate speech and resist money politics as the 2019 elections draw near.

The Chairman of the occasion, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, commended the outstanding features of the Benin Monarchy, and described the book as a masterpiece that "tells African history by Africans"

"One of the tragedies of Africa is that our story has always been told by others from their own perspectives and with their own purpose.

"The result is that much of the narratives of our continent have been a distortion. Against this background, we appreciate the impact of this singular effort of telling the history of Benin Kingdom," he said.

Former President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan said the Benin Kingdom has always made the country proud via its rich history and well-structured governance system.

Jonathan commended the Oba of Benin for his resourcefulness and protection of the Benin people.

In his remark, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, assured that the Benin Royal Museum would be built and completed before the end of 2021.

He said he made the decision recently at a meeting of The Benin Dialogue Group which is made up of all prominent museums in Europe.

"We also got the commitment of the group to return many of the works that were taken from the palace during the expedition in 1897," the governor said.

In his address, His Royal Majesty Omo N' Oba N' Edo Uku Akpolo kpolo, Oba Ewuare II, commended all who have supported him since his ascension to the throne, saying his mandate is to prioritise the welfare of Edo people.

He said the 7-kg book being launched was a compendium of the great history of a great people and would also be showcased in London, the United States of America, amongst other countries.

He said the Oba Ewuare II satellite Town which is also being built in commemoration of his 2nd coronation anniversary was modelled to booster youth employment, create jobs in the agro-allied industry as well as cater for the general welfare of Edo people.

Dignitaries at the event included the Sultan of Sokoto, former governors of Edo State, Chief John Odigie Oyegun and Adams Oshiomhole, as well as the Vice Chancellor of University of Benin, Prof Faraday Orumwense amongst others.

El-Rufai visits Kasuwan Magani, says prosecution of conflict entrepreneurs inevitable

Residents of Kasuwan Magani have been charged to shun violence and live in peace. Kaduna State Governor Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai gave this admonition on Friday when he visited Kasuwan Magani, following the violent clashes that occurred in the town on Thursday. He advised the residents to live in harmony, despite the diversity of their community.

Malam El-Rufai assured residents of the community that the government will act in the interest of  peace and harmony by prosecuting those responsible for the violence. On Thursday, the Kaduna State government imposed a 24-hour curfew in Kasuwan Magani to contain the outbreak of violence.

The governor led as team of senior government officials into Kasuwan Magani around 4pm, andimmediately received briefings from the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Abdurahaman. He thereafter touredthe town, accompanied by traditional and religious leaders.

Following the tour, Malam Nasir El-Rufai interactedwith the leaderships of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) in Kajuru local government area.

Malam El-Rufai charged residents of the community to live in peace and harmony without recourse to violence.

“We are here to see and to listen for ourselves. We must live in peace and never use violence to solve a problem. We are not happy with this and government will pursue and punish those responsible for this devilish act.

“We must value the sanctity of life. I want to beg you to cooperate with the security agencies because prosecution of conflict entrepreneurs is inevitable. I will come back in one week time to see how things are.”

'It would be recalled that dozens were killed in Kasuwan Magani an Adara community of Kaduna State on Thursday 18th October 2018.

News from Makyali on the road to kachia LGC of Kaduna state, has it that the Agom Adara (The royal figure of the people) and his wife have been kidnapped, his orderly and four others killed on Friday 19th October 2018.

During the massacre on Thursday, the media as always portrayed it like a fight between the Hausa/Fulani and the Natives.
The Operation Yaki military personnel were camped just 400m away from the market where the massacre took place but they did nothing until when the local youths regrouped, mobilized and were coming to rescue the survivors then the military stepped in to stop them from saving their people.

This Adara chief is one of the only two chiefs among indigenous nations in Kaduna state to order that all traditional leaders in his domain must wear traditional African symbols of royalty - the leopard skin, and dump the Ara Turban. Fulanis and Muslims in the Kachia axis vehemently kicked against it and attacked him openly.Now this kidnapped while he was on his way to attend a security meeting.

Also, news has it that the Adara youths could have actually fought and rescue their royal father and his family but the military won't let them do it.

'Traders in the market (kasuwa Magani)  attacked by Fulani Yesterday. 86 bodies deposited at Gwamna Awan Hospital kakuri kaduna alone. Others at St. Gerald and Nursing Home (Barau Dikko)  yet u tell me to vote Buhari who sponsor the killings to remain in power?  God forbid.
