Business / Donald Trump Declares Support For Cryptocurrency by nadisms: 11:42am
Former United States President Donald Trump claims he is "very open minded" to "all things related to this new and burgeoning industry."

The United States must not settle for anything but top place in the cryptocurrency industry, according to former U.S. President Donald Trump.

“Our country must be the leader in the field, there is no second place,” Trump declared in a May 25 post on Truth Social — a social media platform owned by Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG).

“I am very positive and open minded to cryptocurrency companies, and all things related to this new and burgeoning industry,” he claimed, before taking aim at the current president, Joe Biden, whom he is up against in the 2024 presidential race, with the US election day scheduled on November 4.

"CROOKED JOE BIDEN, ON THE OTHER HAND, THE WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY, WANTS IT TO DIE A SLOW AND PAINFUL DEATH. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN WITH ME!"

His comments were made ahead of his scheduled speech at the Libertarian Party’s National Convention in Washington on the same day.

Trump’s recent positive attitude towards crypto has raised expectations among the crypto industry of his potential victory.

According to Polymarket, a New York-based crypto prediction platform, Trump has a 56% chance of winning the election, while current President Joe Biden holds a 38% chance.

This comes just after Trump announced his presidential campaign would accept cryptocurrency donations.

On May 21, the Trump 2024 campaign said it had launched a fundraising page for eligible people to donate in crypto using the Coinbase Commerce product.

Politics / Re: Aba, Nnewi Industrialists can compete With China – Sen Orji Kalu by nadisms: 8:28am On May 25
Many people who have not travelled to East will doubt what kalu said. Many contents you see in Nigeria are manufactured in Nigeria but they will write it made in china and package it very well... I don't doubt kalu at all because I know what easterners are capable of doing.
If kalu is saying that solar lightings are produced in ABA, believe him because the solar panel you may be using in Nigeria that has the label of made in china, may have been manufactured at the backyard of Nnewi but repackaged to made in china..

Investment / Ethereum May Reach $10,000 Before The End Of This Year Analyst Predicts by nadisms: 6:19pm On May 22
Andrey Stoychev, Head of Prime Brokerage at Nexo, has predicted that Ethereum price could hit $10k if it succeeds in getting the spot Ethereum Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) approved by the United States’ Securities and Exchange Commission ( SEC).

According to CoinTelegraph, Stoychev said the US SEC approval of Ethereum spot ETF could take months, but it might become the main catalyst catapulting the price of the second largest cryptocurrency to $10k.

The prediction follows an impressive bullish run by Ethereum which saw its price surge to two-month high of $3700, signifying a 21% rise in the last 24 hours.

The recent Ether rally is driven by reports that the US SEC has a made a U-turn on its stance on spot Ethereum ETF approval asking ETF exchanges to update their 19b-4 filings, according to reports.

Stoychev explained that despite the timeline for a potential spot bitcoin ETF approval still being difficult to predict, the recent moves by the US SEC are very positive and spells good for the crypto industry.

Investment / Turkey To Introduce Cryptocurrency Licensing by nadisms: 1:21pm On May 22
Türkiye has introduced a legislative proposal aimed at reducing the risks of parties transacting with crypto assets in the country. The proposal has been presented to the parliament.

The bill, introduced by ruling party chairman Abdullah Güler, includes various regulations regarding crypto assets and will be implemented by the Capital Markets Board (CMB).

This proposal establishes important rules regarding crypto service providers and increases the CMB’s supervision over them.
The bill aims to introduce a licensing scheme for crypto firms, which will be handled by the CMB and bring the firms under the regulator's scope.

To protect customers, the scope of inspections for crypto providers will also be expanded

Although there is no provision regarding taxation in the bill, CMB and TÜBİTAK will obtain certain rates of income from crypto service providers. CMB and TÜBİTAK will receive 1% of these revenues from crypto service providers.
The Scientific and Technological Research Institution of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) is a national agency of the country whose stated goal is to develop “science, technology and innovation” policies, support and conduct research and development.

This bill is expected to increase Türkiye’s compliance with international standards regarding crypto assets, eliminate criticism from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and make the country’s crypto ecosystem safer.

Investment / Owner Of Dark Web Market Arrested By FBI by nadisms: 12:41pm On May 22
Incognito Market, which was shut down in March, was an online dark web marketplace that allowed users to buy and sell illegal drugs anonymously, according to the Justice Department.

Hundreds of pounds of cocaine, methamphetamines and other drugs were sold on Incognito Market since its launch in October 2020, it said.

"Under the promise of anonymity, Lin's alleged operation offered the purchase of lethal drugs and fraudulent prescription medication on a global scale," said James Smith, an assistant director in the FBI's New York office.

Users of Incognito Market were able to search thousands of listings for illegal narcotics, including heroin, cocaine, LSD, MDMA, oxycodone, methamphetamines, ketamine, and alprazolam.

Incognito Market included "many features of legitimate e-commerce sites such as branding, advertising, and customer service," the Justice Department said. The indictment includes several images from the site, including its splash page.

Lin faces up to life in prison if convicted of narcotics conspiracy.

Taipei's foreign ministry spokesman Jeff Liu said during a regular briefing Tuesday that Lin had been working since November at Taiwan's embassy in St Lucia, an eastern Caribbean nation that is one of the Asian island's few allies.

He had applied to work as part of the embassy's technical corps in lieu of military service -- mandatory for Taiwanese men -- and had "behaved normally."

Expected to be discharged in July, Lin applied for leave and left St Lucia on May 18, Liu said.

He "was scheduled to go to Singapore via New York when he was arrested by the police in New York," he said, adding that Taiwan was closely monitoring the case.

Investment / Shiba Inu Crypto Coin About To Break Out by nadisms: 7:48am On Apr 28
Shiba Inu (SHIB) is a cryptocurrency that gained significant attention in the crypto community, particularly in 2021. It was inspired by the popular meme culture surrounding the Shiba Inu dog breed, similar to Dogecoin.

SHIB operates as an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain, which means it benefits from Ethereum's robust infrastructure and smart contract capabilities. It was created by an anonymous individual or group known as "Ryoshi" and launched in August 2020.

One of the unique features of SHIB is its decentralized nature, allowing users to trade, stake, and participate in various decentralized finance (DeFi) activities. It gained traction primarily due to its strong community support, social media presence, and meme-driven marketing strategies.

One notable aspect of SHIB is its tokenomics, which includes a total supply of 1 quadrillion tokens, with a significant portion initially locked in liquidity pools on decentralized exchanges like Uniswap. This large supply has led to SHIB being considered a meme or "joke" coin by some, similar to Dogecoin.

Despite its meme origins, SHIB has attracted a dedicated following and has been involved in various charitable initiatives, including donations to animal rescue organizations.

It also spawned other tokens within the Shiba Inu ecosystem, such as LEASH and BONE, which offer different utilities and features.

However, it's important to note that investing in SHIB, like any cryptocurrency, carries risks due to its volatile nature and speculative market.

Potential investors should conduct thorough research and exercise caution before participating in the Shiba Inu ecosystem or any cryptocurrency investment.

Politics / Re: Top 5 Most Developed Non-capital Cities In Nigeria by nadisms: 5:41pm On Nov 11, 2023
IamAtikulate:
1. Lagos

Lagos city undoubtedly tops the list. It checks all the marks, and also scoring highest in each. The city is also home to Nigerian richest population. As a former FCT and British colony, making this list isn't surprising.

Cities in Lagos State alone will occupy the whole list. But to give other cities outside Lagos state a chance, we will stick to only Lagos. For instance, Surulere, a non-capital city in Lagos, beats at least two other cities that made this list.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZpKPC1bk00

2. Onitsha

Onitsha comes easy second to Lagos. It's the most built-up urban centre in Nigeria after Lagos and home to the largest market in Nigeria, and some of the best schools in the country. Quality of housing is top-notch, but the city can benefit from improving its sanitary infrastructure.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvQK6oRLGfE&pp=ygUWYWVyaWFsIHZpZXcgb2Ygb25pdHNoYQ%3D%3D

3. Zaria

The only ancient and historic town that made this list. Zaria is a city that is surrounded by hills, giving it a breathtaking look. This city houses several military formations, making it a heavily fortified town. Besides Lagos, I don't think any other city in this list can rival Zaria in quality of roads. It also offers large scale commercial activities and access to world-class schools.

It's actually my favorite in this list.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBMYGbRDsAM&pp=ygUUYWVyaWFsIHZpZXcgb2YgemFyaWE%3D

4. Aba

Aba didn't make this list by mistake. The quality of housing in this city is over the roof, only behind Lagos and Onitsha. It also the only city in this list that's almost at the verge of achieving 24/7 power supply. Large scale commercial activities are also present. However, the city can do better with its bad roads, which is the worst for cities in this list.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWX-cruI6fU&pp=ygUSYWVyaWFsIHZpZXcgb2YgYWJh

5. Warri

I am split between choosing Nnewi or Warri, both of who deserves the spot. Despite being home to the highest number of billionaires per capita, record number of indigenous companies and large scale economic activities, I still believe that Warri beats Nnewi. The city offers access to more quality roads and pre-tertiary institutions. It's also the only city in this list with a functional airport, though, Lagos is on the verge of getting one.

However, Warri should work on its security.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWX5DA01UaM&pp=ygUUYWVyaWFsIHZpZXcgb2Ygd2Fycmk%3D

Worthy Mentions

Though they didn't make the list, we cant just ignore them. These are cities, towns, and villages you should look out for.

Nnewi

Nnewi tops my worthy mentions. It missed the main list by a whisker.

Ikot Ikpene
You won't want to leave after visiting this town. Akwa Ibom government finished work here. It's a place to be.

Bonny Island
it won't be fair to conclude this list without mentioning Bonny. It's not actually a city, but still made my worthy mention.

Agbara
I actually considered this town for the main list due to its industrialisation. But the quality of road and housing costs it a place in the main list. They could do better.

Abiriba

Abiriba is neither a city nor town, but a village in Abia. But when you visit, you'll understand why it made this worthy mention. It's the most beautiful village in Nigeria and I think that's enough to earn it a place here.

worthy of mentions ,should include cities like:

Nkpor

Ogidi

Oba

Obosi
Ekwulobia

Ozubulu

Nkpor and Ogidi ,are on a league of their own.

one thing i love about eastern development is that is widespread, not restricted to a geographical location
