Had it been Trump was the President of US during the 2015 election, Buhari wouldn't have won it.
PoliticsDoes Trump Want To Oppose Buhari’s Reelection? by naijadanny(op): 1:51pm On Jan 11, 2018
Americans have always been known to, in order to protect their various hegemonic interests around the world, do everything to influence elections in other countries. In most cases, they have no difficulty having their way. During her time as the US Secretary of State, Ms Hillary Clinton, reportedly tried to influence the Russian presidential election with the goal of having an American puppet defeat Vladmir Putin.

Putin was believed to be so angry that he decided to make sure Clinton herself would never become her own country’s president.

Americans are still in shock that Russia could determine who should occupy the White House. But besides his accord with Russia’s Putin, President Donald Trump also promised Israel of making sure that during his first year in office, he would be moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem in full recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

But before his recent announcement to that effect, Trump tried to lobby powerful countries, whose leaders promised him that while they might not support it at the UN, they would never vote against it as well. Unfortunately, notwithstanding that it’s our sovereign right to cast our votes at the UN, for less powerful countries like Nigeria, who thought that their decisions would hardly matter on such decisions of theirs, it seems that by shifting the whole blame on them this time round, Washington has decided to make them scapegoats.

That is why I have the fear that if it is true that President Trump recently expressed anger at our country — and particularly our President — for our voting against Jerusalem being Israeli capital, no doubt, his threats could include undermining him at the polls come 2019 presidential election.

We all know that if America decides not to allow President Buhari to be reelected, it would be extremely difficult for him to be reelected, especially given that no nation is perceived to be more sophisticated and much better at rigging elections than the US. And the fact remains that no organisation is better equipped than the CIA in forcing Washington’s preferred candidates on nations of strategic interest.

Besides being perceived as master riggers, by making the entire economy to collapse a few months to the general election, the CIA can easily make people to hardly vote for the incumbent President.

So, who exactly would Trump’s America likely support?

Given that both the APC and the PDP have agreed that the presidency should remain in the North, who exactly should Trump be supporting? Some Nigeria watchers in Washington are insisting that it should be former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who is considered to be a religious moderate as well as ethnically more of a unifier than a divider.
Because there is yet to be an agreement to that effect, there are others who are leaning towards Governor Nasir el-Rufai, who as a graduate of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, is considered to be more cosmopolitan with a more sophisticated understanding of world economy and politics.

But as it stands now, both Atiku and el-Rufai are going to have tough time getting there. For Atiku, President Olusegun Obasanjo is his major nut to crack. It will be difficult to underestimate Obasanjo when decisions concerning Nigeria are being made in Washington, given his long closeness to Washington. But, is Obasanjo indispensable? It is likely that Trump will ignore the Obasanjo factor should he decide it must be Atiku after all he is actually an anti-establishment president.

In the case of el-Rufai, it is going to be extremely more difficult given that President Buhari has not only declared his intention for second term, but had since started his reelection campaigns with the former Governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi, reportedly appointed for the second time as his campaign’s Director-General. It is unlikely that the APC would refuse the President’s reelection bid, especially given that there is no official opposition coming from the national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu.

In any case, isn’t it possible that both President Trump and President Buhari could easily resolve their differences, especially with Buhari seeking the intervention of Saudi Arabia? After all, as it was whispered to my ears some time ago by one of my Washington friends, there was no way Washington would have openly and forcefully opposed Jonathan’s reelection had it not been calls from the Saudi King seeking support for Buhari.

Unfortunately, the current relationship between Washington and Riyadh has become so toxic because of Trump’s insistent on Jerusalem being officially recognised by his government as the authentic capital of Israel. But why should it given that that pronouncement is in the process of degenerating to another inevitable Arab/Israeli conflict, with America as usual supporting Israel? Even if Buhari could diplomatically sort himself out of the current situation, he is still to confront the growing internal opposition to his reelection.

One of the bones of contention is the unresolved incessant Fulani herdsmen killings across the nation, particularly in the South and the Middle Belt. Because of this, most Christians in America and Europe have come to believe that it is a kind of covert religion-induced killing of Christians. Worsening the situation or giving credence to this thesis is the fact that President Buhari has not been forceful and proactive in dealing with these reckless killings of powerless people whose territories they always invaded with dangerous machine guns.

SportsNigeria's Super Falcons End Protest by naijadanny(op): 4:58pm On Dec 19, 2016
Nigeria's women's team have ended their sit-in protest at a hotel in Abuja after being paid money owed to them.

They were demanding US$23,650 per player from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for winning the 2016 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Falcons had been at the hotel in the capital since 6 December.

"The players have all left the hotel in Abuja after they started receiving payments alerts," the team's media officer Remi Sulola told BBC Sport.

One of the players also confirmed that she and her roommate had been paid.

"It's taken some time, [because banks don't work over the weekend] but we've finally received our money today," one player, who insisted on anonymity, told BBC Sport.

"We thank the government, the fans and media for their roles in making sure we got our hard-earned dues."

To mark the 10th day of their complaint the team protested outside parliament in Abuja while the annual budget was being presented.

This led to the government releasing about US$1.2m to the cash-strapped NFF on Friday to pay the ladies.

Nigeria's victory in Cameroon was their eighth African women's title and means they have only twice failed to win the women's championship since its inception in 1998.

The money was also used to settle outstanding win bonus for the men's team in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Foreign AffairsRe: London Naked Restaurant: 32,000 Sign Up For Nude Dinners At Bunyadi by naijadanny(op): 6:17pm On May 04, 2016
These are signs that the world would soon come to an end.
Foreign AffairsLondon Naked Restaurant: 32,000 Sign Up For Nude Dinners At Bunyadi by naijadanny(op): 6:13pm On May 04, 2016
(CNN)Want to get naked while getting dinner in London?
Keep your clothes on for now and join the back of a very, very long line.
More than 32,000 people have signed up for a chance to dine at Bunyadi, a pop-up restaurant billed as the UK capital's first "naked food experience."
Opening in June, the central London venue will offer gowns, changing rooms and lockers to guests wanting to digest the sight of their own exposed skin while getting their chow on.
Only 42 diners a time will fit in the restaurant -- at an as-yet-undisclosed location -- meaning that many of those hoping for a naked lunch, or dinner, will be disappointed.

"I'm both surprised and excited by the response," Seb Lyall, whose company Lollipop is behind the venture, tells CNN.

"People want to be naked. Whether it's on a beach or in a sauna, if the opportunity is there to be in a natural state, they will take it."

Semi-nude staff
Paying up to $95-a-head for food and drinks, diners will be able to choose between clothed and "naked and pure" seating areas, where they'll be served by semi-nude staff.
Selfies, mercifully, will be impossible as guests will have to leave their devices behind when entering the candlelit restaurant.
Lyall says to create a completely natural environment, both the restaurant and its kitchen will be run without electricity or gas.

Instead, its menu of vegan and non-vegan dishes will be prepared using wood fires by chefs who will, hopefully, be wearing more than just hairnets and aprons.
Food will be served on earthenware crockery and eaten with edible cutlery.
"Wood-hewn" tables will be separated by bamboo and wicker partitions.
Bunyadi, says Lyall, will offer customers "true liberation" by providing both naked, unprocessed food and an environment unspoiled by modern technology or attitudes.

"I'm inspired by the movement to more natural, stripped-back things," he says.

Diners will have the option of keeping their robes on, but Lyall expects most will want to at least partially strip down.
"At the very least, they'll probably go topless," he says.
Places at the restaurant will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
Up to 2,000 diners will be given a two-hour window to book before their places are offered to the next 2,000.
Lyall describes the venture as a "social experiment" that, despite the initial demand, may not be sustainable as a more permanent fixture.
While a naked restaurant might be way too weird for a first date, for more established couples it could be a thrilling, memorable and possibly even romantic night out.
But if he pops the question, just don't ask where he was hiding the ring.

PoliticsWhich Way Nigeria by naijadanny(op): 11:18am On Mar 03, 2016
I have to copy this post from a friend's timeline in Facebook. I think we have to ask ourselves "where this country is heading to"?

Which way Nigeria?! Which way to go?! ‪#‎TyrantBuhari‬ has finally succeeded in grounding the Nigerian ship. A disorganised and insecure society has no guarantee for its existence. Reality of allowing the wrong people to steer the national ship has come upon us and Nigerians must act quickly to salvage themselves from the looming danger. The tyrant's insensitivity and violation of the security of the Nigerian people abound in every facet of our national life. We are now faced with the third unbearable fuel scarcity in the tenth month of this clueless administration and electric power supply still remains a mirage, despite all the plenty promises of the APC government and their cohorts. It seems there can never be any solution for the power outage in the Nigerian community. The dollar has refused to come down and the prices of goods and services have outrageously skyrocketed. A bag of rice that used to go for 8,500 naira a few months ago is now sold for 14,000 naira, with over 60% increment recorded under this baseless administration. Security of lives and properties of Nigerians have been completely decimated. It is no longer news that as Boko Haram is slaughtering innocent Nigerians in their thousands up north, the Fulani herds men are wandering from state to state murdering the Nigerian citizens in their hundreds down south, the Nigerian military are busying themselves murdering peaceful agitators everywhere they find an unarmed gathering of Nigerians while the armed robbers continue to attack fellow Nigerians with reckless abandon. Now kidnapping seems to be trending in Nigeria. The rich are kidnapped every now and then just as the famous and the average Nigerians are often kidnapped also for a ransom or to be brutalized and killed without a cause. Drunk police men are yet to stop gunning down unarmed citizen at event places and even in their vehicles. Cases of helpless minors been abducted all the way from the south to be subdued and recklessly violated by the northern oligarchy is nothing short of an extreme inhuman attrocity committed under the Buhari's watch and Nigerians must not allow this trend to continue. What these old fools do to other people's daughter often marvel me! As if they would like the same iniquity to be committed against their own daughters! The middle class is not even immune from this insecurity of the APC's misleading government. Just recently, the Lagos state government unlawfully demolished the goods and properties of over 50 billions naira belonging to marketers and business people in Oshodi, who majorly traveled to their different states of origin to celebrate the Christmas holidays. On coming back from the Christmas celebration they were greeted with the incredulous news that their shops have been demolished and their means of livelihood have been terminated. Imagine the fate of such people now! Imagine the future of 14 years old Ese Oruru that was abducted from Bayelsa state to be impregnated by a shameless old man in Kano state! Imagine all the cases of insecurity and attrocities that have been committed under the administration of #TyrantBuhari and imagine if this is the kind of Nigeria we all hoped for!

HealthShocking Dangers Of Consuming Catfish by naijadanny(op): 2:52pm On Jan 20, 2016
In Nigeria, catfish is one of the most widely loved and enjoyed fish. It is consumed in various delicacies, especially at social gatherings.

The fact that it is affordable when compared to other varieties of fish in the market makes it more popular. However, research has shown that consumption of catfish is not so healthy. While medics assert that fish is a better and healthier option than meat, it seems quite a lot of people didn’t wait to hear the other part of the medical advice that not all types of fish are good for the heart.

According to expert advice, the omega 6 fatty acids in catfish can increase your risk of getting blood clots, arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease and some cancers? In fact, nutritionists say that catfish is loaded with bad fat and high cholesterol that encourage clotting of the blood, a condition whereby blood flow is impeded. This may lead to cardiac arrest, thrombosis and, in some cases, heart attacks.

A cardiologist, Dr. Jane Anisulowo, who talked to The Punch recently said that farmed or home-grown catfish is the worst example in this regard, as it contains more fatty hormones than the ones harvested from natural water. “Fish is better than meat, no doubt. It digests easily and it contains proteins. However, catfish is not really a good option, especially the ones they sell these days, which are cultivated with hormonal feeds that are filled with steroids and other fattening chemicals just to make them profitable. These chemicals are cancerous in nature.

“Also, they contain so much oil that you can almost taste it. Fish, generally, contains oil, but catfish has oil in its skin. That is what makes it so oily and unhealthy. It also contains a lot of poly unsaturated fat that does not only make you fat but also settles in the blood stream. That is very dangerous because when blood fails to get to an organ, it fails and suffers paralysis.”

A study which was conducted by the National Institute of Health in 2012, using over 1000 species of the fish in different water shows that catfish contains a high amount of unfavourable omega-6 fat that causes inflammation in the body. Three-ounce portion of catfish contains the same amount of bad fats found in red meat. This is not to say that one should give up eating the fish as catfish contains some nutrients such as Omega3 fatty acids that are good for the body.

Anisulowo, however, advised: “If you can get the one from the river, which is rare in most cities, then you may eat it twice a month. But if the only one you can get is the one that is being reared by farmers, you don’t have to eat at all, or just eat it when it is partially smoked. In that way, some of the fats would have been lost in the process. Better still, there are some other species of fish that are oily but they contain good fats and are more nutritious.”

Instead of regular consumption of catfish, here are some other species that you can add to your diet:

Mackerel

It is popularly called Titus fish in Nigeria. The oily meat found on mackerel is its main health benefit. It lowers triglycerides. High levels of triglycerides in the body have been linked to heart disease and strokes. The most common causes of a high triglyceride level are obesity and poorly maintained diabetes, mainly stemming from an inactive lifestyle.

Tilapia

Tilapia is a high-quality fish. It has proteins and contains all the essential amino acids your body requires from food diet to help to build proteins. One portion of tilapia cooked using dry heat contains about 26 grammes of protein. It also helps in weight control.

Foreign AffairsBurkina Faso Hotel Siege 'over' Amid Reports Of New Attack by naijadanny(op): 12:43pm On Jan 16, 2016
A siege at a Burkina Faso hotel seized by suspected Islamist militants is over, the authorities say, amid reports of an attack on a second hotel.

The assault on the Splendid Hotel in the West African state's capital, Ouagadougou, killed at least 23 people of 18 different nationalities.

Four attackers were killed, two of them women, officials said.

The Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) militant group has announced that it carried out the attack.

Bukinabe President Roch Kabore arrived at the scene on Saturday morning amid right security.

French President Francois Hollande condemned the "odious" attack on the capital of the former French colony. French troops helped their Burkinabe colleagues during the security operation.

In November, an AQIM attack on a hotel in the Malian capital Bamako left 19 people dead.

Militants seeking to dominate regional jihad - Tomi Oladipo, BBC Africa security correspondent

The numerous armed groups in the Sahel often take advantage of the porous borders and weak regional security to establish their violent campaigns.

A recently consolidated AQIM - since mending relations with its offshoot, the al-Murabitoun group - is keen to cement its status as the dominant jihadist group in North Africa and the Sahel, particularly with the rise of its rival, the so-called Islamic State, in the region.

AQIM made this point in its purported attack on the Radisson Blu hotel in Mali's capital Bamako in November. Mali has been a key theatre of operation but now its southern neighbour, Burkina Faso, is the latest victim.

Burkina Faso is only just moving on from a political crisis. Its new President, Roch Kabore, has only been in office for three weeks and already has his hands full.

Militants attacked the Splendid and the nearby Cappuccino cafe on Friday evening, setting off several explosions. Both places are popular with UN staff and foreigners.

Interior Minister Simon Compaore said 10 bodies had been found on the cafe terrace alone.

He added that 126 hostages had been freed, with 33 of them injured. Among those freed is the country's Minister of Public Works, Clement Sawadogo.

As the end of the siege was being announced, reports came in that militants had taken up position at the Yibi hotel, a short distance away on the same street in Ouagadougou.

One of the attackers was killed at the Yibi, officials said.

Remi Dandjinou, the Burkinabe communications minister, told the BBC earlier that between six and seven militants had attacked the Splendid, adding that they had been staying at the hotel as guests.

Interior Minister Compaore said two black Africans and an Arab were among the militants killed.

'Political fragility'

Burkina Faso recently held its first presidential election since a coup earlier last year.

That coup toppled long-time leader Blaise Compaore, who had governed for 27 years.

"We are still in a context of political fragility, so I think the timing of this attack is meaningful," Cynthia Ohayon, an analyst with the International Crisis Group, told the BBC from Ouagadougou.

"The country has long borders with Mali and Niger, and we know there are armed groups present on the border, so this was probably something we had coming."

Breast sucking good for you?

By Yetunde Arebi
The female breasts, also known as “the twins” or “the girls”, have remained the most conspicuous and attractive feature of the female sexual organ. Perhaps, its strategic positioning and function adds to its importance in the life of a woman.

Besides the age long biological function of the breasts as a source of food and nourishment for babies, the breast is also a major source of sexual attraction for the male specie, just as it is also a key sexual organ for the woman, highly sensitive to stimulation. The fact that they come in various shapes and sizes, further add to their uniqueness and endearing place in our hearts as humans.Breast-Sucking

As a sexual organ, the breasts have been known to give immense pleasure to both men and women during sexual encounters. In fact, some women have reportedly disclosed that they are capable of achieving orgasm even when thoroughly stimulated through sucking and caressing of the breasts alone. Though, because of this highly sensitive nature, some women find it very uncomfortable or even painful to submit their twin girls to constant sexual manipulation of any kind.

Interestingly, men are constantly drawn to the breasts. A lot of this attraction has been attributed to psychological composition, perception and beliefs. For, pray, why would a full grown man be obsessed with sucking some mounds of milkless breasts? I don’t often get logical answers to this question when I ask. The function of the breasts in sexual behaviour has been attributed to human Face -to -Face copulation that is unusual among other mammals. Since the breast already serves the function of mother-infant bonding, then it is also excellent for male -female bonding, says an argument. After all, it is just within reach.

For those familiar with some of the social media platforms, you would have come across a particular message that has been making the rounds for a couple of years now. Purportedly attributed to the BBC as source, this message usually springs out during the cancer awareness months and in support of cancer prevention campaign. As expected, it elicits a wide range of controversies from both men and women, from humour to disdain and sexual innuendoes, while some others believe the content hook, line and sinker. The purported message is claimed to have been issued by the Ministry of Health in the fight against breast cancer. One of the versions I have received read thus:

Very soon, women will be paying men to have their breasts sucked! According to a report on BBC website, Doctors recommend that women reduce the risk of getting breast cancer by having their breasts sucked thoroughly and vigorously. It is said that regular sucking of the breast lowers the risk level that tends to build up lumps leading to breast cancer. The breast must be sucked as often as possible. Help women fight breast cancer today. Men, please do your part and suck a breast now! And women, please endeavour to make it available regularly…… This message is from the Ministry of Health in the fight against breast cancer.

I have tried several times without success to get a confirmation for this story on the mentioned websites including cancer.org and some others in related fields. But perhaps, someone out there knows the original and authentic source of this message? Please share it with us!

As interesting as this message may be, as well as the different responses it receives anytime it is being passed around, depending on which side of the divide you find yourself, I am more worried about the health implications attached. Cancer is not something to make jokes out of as it claims millions of lives across the world every year. Again, some frightened lady who hitherto was not in favour of breast sucking may easily submit herself to torture with the belief that she is suffering for a good reason. Please, let us not confuse issues. Breast feeding is not the same as breast sucking. Breast feeding is the process of feeding new born and infants with breast milk. It is this that has been medically proven to be of immense benefit to both mother and child and can prevent breast cancer. There are no scientifically proven studies indicating that breast sucking is of any medical benefit to the the woman whose breast is being sucked or the person doing the sucking.

However, what has been scientifically proven is the fact that breast sucking when properly performed is of immense pleasure to the woman and may sometime on its own lead to orgasm or when combined with some other forms of sexual stimulation will help a woman to achieve orgasm quicker. Again, neither has any research shown that breast sucking can give a woman cancer.

So ladies, please relax and allow your guys do the job for you. if you are not enjoying the way he is doing it, tell him. I can assure you, it’s a win-win situation.

What a cheering revelation!
PoliticsFayose Congratulates Saraki, Dogara, Says Nigeria Is Nobody’s Private Estate by naijadanny(op): 10:16am On Jun 10, 2015
Ekiti state Governor, Ayo Fayose has congratulated the new leadership of the National assembly.

Ayo Fayose.jpg

Fayose hailed the emergence of Senator Bukola Saraki and Hon Yakubu Dogara as the Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives respectively, describing the election as a confirmation that Nigeria cannot be owned by any individual.

Speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose, also congratulated the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and Deputy Speaker, Hon Yusuf Sulaimon Lasun said; ”with what happened at the National Assembly today, those who believed that they can turn Nigeria to their personal estate must have realised the futility of their efforts and the beneficiaries of this collective resolve by Nigerians must make sure that they do not fail the country”.

He said, ”in particular, the emergence of Hon Yakubu Dogara as the House of Representatives Speaker is a lesson of life that what goes round will definitely come round. Today, Nigerians demonstrated to the entire world that our country has come of age democratically.

”Also, President Mohammadu Buhari, by not interfering in the process through which the National Assembly leadership emerged today, further demonstrated that as he said in his inaugural speech, he is indeed for everybody, and he is for nobody.

”What happened at the National Assembly today has rekindled my hope in the Nigeria Nation and my abiding faith in the supremacy of the people over those whose major interest is to assume the sole-ownership of the country. It also shows that it is not in all cases that the soul of this nation can be bought off the shelf with stupendous wealth.

”I congratulate Senator Bukola Saraki, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Hon Yakubu Dogara and Hon Yusuf Sulaimon Lasun for this well-deserved victory and I urge them to see their election as a call to the service of their fatherland”.

Three Feminist Geniuses Just Invented a Pair of Panties That Could Change the World

Menstruation is a natural part of life, but it has long been and continues to be stigmatized. For many women, there's nothing worse than a noticeable leak during their period. But alongside the stigma-fueled embarrassment and shame, problems like lack of access to feminine hygiene products remain prevalent, especially in the developing world. Some girls in Uganda, for example, miss roughly 11% of their academic year because of their periods, according to a report on menstrual management.

However, three women have created a way to change that. Twin sisters Radha and Miki Agrawal and friend Antonia Dunbar designed the self-absorbing THINX underwear, which eliminates the need for tampons or pads.

Their patented technology, THINX QuadTECH, has four layers. First is a moisture-removing layer, then a stain-resistant anti-microbial layer, then the equivalent of a pad, which "can hold up to 2 to 6 teaspoons of blood (or blue liquid, if you're shooting a sanitary pad commercial)," followed lastly by a leak-resistant layer. And these magical panties come in three different styles: Thong, Cheeky or Hiphugger, ranging in price from $24 to $34. Better still, they can go in the cold cycle of the washing machine (with a recommended hand-rinse beforehand).

It's time to change. The inventors of this unique underwear are out to reform the world. ," Miki Agrawal, CEO and cofounder of THINX, told Forbes. "I want to change the culture around women's most normal time of month — and not while wearing grandma panties or pads that feel like a diaper."

Not only do the THINX cofounders want to change the conversation around menstruation, they also want to help women in the developing world who suffer both from a lack of access to sanitary products and the shame associated with menstruation. THINX has teamed up with AFRIpads, a Ugandan NGO that makes and distributes washable, reusable pads to women in need. For every pair of period panties sold, THINX donates the money for seven pads to AFRIpads, allowing women and girls on their period to go to school and work.

Game changer. THINX has already raised millions of dollars in venture capital funding and plans to keep their business online as they scale up, in order to "control our brand, our story," Agrawal told Forbes. They hope to disrupt the multibillion-dollar feminine hygiene products industry, which, until now, hasn't had many alternatives. Since the advent of the tampon in 1931, there hasn't been any real innovation when it comes to menstruation, notes Agrawal. It's about time.

THINX has the added benefit of reducing periods' substantial financial and environmental toll, where millions of pads, tampons and applicators end up in landfills. These three women may have revolutionized the experience of menstruation, which women deal with for around a quarter of their adult lives. Now that's something worth celebrating. Period.

After all, Azazi said BokoHaram is PDP now

His days were numbered right from †ђªt moment

Fresh Air strikes again. cool

That was why they kicked him out. He bit the hand that fed him. However, he said the truth, since the truth is bitter, it didn't go down well with PDP, so, they kicked him out. I believe he knew that he would be dropped. He should always watch is back from now on cos they might come for his life, since they believe he knows a lot about their heinous activities. This country is in shambles, say the truth, then, ure gone.
