But it is very sad. These women are the future mothers, aunties, grandmothers, etc. They will shape the next generation of men and women. We don't want future Nigerians to be professional beggars. Now, many of these women don't even understand shame. They are totally shameless. You can't say "Hello" to a naija woman these days without her hitting you up for money. "I need cash". "I am broke". "I am struggling o". They usually start out begging indirectly, and you can only ignore them for so long before they come right out and start pestering you for dough, right left and in between. It is very irritating and annoying. It might even be OK with family members and acquaintances that you've known for a while. In many cases, you just met these grown a** women who don't even begin to understand what it means to grow up and take responsibility for their own friggin' lives. They somehow take you to be an ATM which exists only to dole out money each time they ask you. It is difficult to respect a beggar, no matter how sophisticated the beggar might look. Naija women should get their acts together, and become more dignified. Begging men for money is humiliating and shameful. |
Are you suggesting that when you see false teachings, you must not expose them? Well that is not the Scripture o. There is a difference between judging and rebuking, contending with false teachings, and exposing error. We are not to judge. Judging means we pronounce punishment on people (e.g. that they will perish if they do/don't do certain things). But that is different. Scripture wants us to REBUKE Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 2 Tim 4:2 (KJV) These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee. Titus 2:15 (KJV) To CONTEND with false preaching. They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them. Prov 28:4 (KJV) Jesus Himself repeatedly exposed the false teachings of the Scribes, Pharisees, and the Lawyers of his day. He never shied away from contending with them. He called them names (e.g. Hypocrites, whited sepulchres, thieves, robbers, etc, etc). You can see some of Christ's sharpest words in Matthew 23, from verse 13. Also Luke 11:42 and onwards. It is therefore incorrect to keep quiet when we see anyone--preacher or not--mislead, abuse or otherwise mistreat the people of God. Shalom |
MrsChima:O yes, fertility is a BIG deal. Just because there are many kids in the world does not mean they are your own kids. There are many doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc. in the world, but that does not stop us from encouraging kids to become doctors, lawyers and engineers. Many people are working. Does that stop you from looking for a job? Many people eat everyday. Does that mean you don't have to eat? Nonsense. |
