The death of this golden football legend called Diego Armando Maradona got me wondering about the essence of life.

Little wonder when billionaire Femi Otedola in a telephone interview, was asked by a radio presenter; “Sir, what can you remember made you a happiest man in life”?

Otedola said; ” I have gone through four stages of happiness in life and finally I understood the true meaning of happiness”
The first stage was accumulate wealth and means. But at this stage, I did not get the happiness I wanted. Then came the second stage of collecting valuables and items. But I realized that the effect of this was also temporary and the lustre of valuable things does not last long.

Then came the third stage of getting big projects, that was when I was holding 95% of diesel supply in Nigeria and Africa . I was also the Largest vessel owner in Africa and Asia, but even then, I did not get the happiness I had imagined.

The forth stage was the time a friend of mine asked me to buy wheel chairs for some disabled children just about 200 kids. At the friends request I immediately bought the wheelchairs, but the friend insisted that I go with him and hand over the chairs to the children. I got ready and went with him.

There I gave the wheel chairs to the children with my own hands. As soon as I did that, I saw the strange glow of happiness on the faces of the children, I saw them all sitting on the wheelchair, moving and having fun as if they had arrived at a picnic spot where they are sharing a jackpot winning.

I felt real joy inside me. When I decided to leave, one of the kids gently grabbed my legs , I tried to free it gently but the child stared at my face and held my legs tightly. I bent down asked the child, ” Do you need something else” ?

The answer this child gave me not only made me happy but also changed my attitude to life completely. This child said, ” I want to remember your face so that when I meet you in heaven, I will be able to recognize you and thank you once again”

What will you be remembered for?

JACOB ODULATE is the Man Who Invented Alabukun Powder Over 100 Years Ago

Alabukun, one of the oldest drugs in Nigeria and even is still very relevant and popular today. However, not many know the Jacob Odulate aka Blessed Jacob, a Nigerian pharmacist, inventor and entrepreneur and the brain behind the brand that has remained relevant selling in all parts of Nigeria, Benin republic, Cameroon, Ghana and some parts of Europe.

1. Jacob Sogboyega Odulate aka Blessed Jacob was born into a polygamous family in 1884.

2. He was originally from Ikorodu in Lagos State but later moved to the neighbouring Ogun State.

3. At age 14, he trekked for three months from Ikorodu before reaching Abeokuta to establish himself.

4. Blessed Jacob managed to create a brand from what served as his consulting room and workshop in Abeokuta. His modest headquarters was at the Sapon Area, not far from where he later built his famous three-storey building in Ijemo Agbadu.

5. In 1918, he invented the legendary Alabukun powder which is now a hit in the world’s most populous nation and in other West African nations.

6. He sent his children to study at some of the best universities in Durham, Newcastle, United States of America and London. e.g Mrs. Folake Odulate (later to become Chief. Mrs. Folake Solanke) who is the first female lawyer in Nigeria to wear the silk and she also became the first female Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). In 1966, she established the first law firm by a Nigerian female at Ibadan, Oyo State and named it Alabukun Chambers in honour of her great father.

7. Apart from making the drugs, the energetic Blessed Jacob also produced other brands like Alabukun mentholine, other preparations and an annual journal called Alabukun Almanac which was widely distributed in Abeokuta and eventually all over Nigeria between the 1920s and 1950s.

8. He died in 1962 at age 78.

Our problem is not age of aspirants or candidates.

The active players in the civil war were all youths.

The actors of 1st and 2nd coup of 1966 were all young men.

One of them was Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu.

He was just 29 years then, born on 26th, Feb 1937

The beneficiaries of subsequent coups were also youths

Yes! In their *20s, 30s and early 40s.

One of them was Yakubu Gowon.

Yakubu was born 19-10-1934, became head of state in July 1966 at youthful age of just 32!!!

He married his wife, Victoria as a sitting head of state!

What do all these our parents tell us made them to fail and we think we can do differently and better?

Are these ones; Bukola Saraki, Dino malaiye,, Wike, Tambuwa, Fayose not youths?
What positive impact did they make?

Our problem is not age, sex, qualification, tribe or religion of leaders.

It is having that DETERMINATION and COMMITMENT TO SERVE.

It's about being God FEARING AND POSSESSING LEADERSHIP QUALITIES like AHMADU BELLO, AWOLOWO, ZIK and others.

They were also youthful when they came on board.

So, it is NOT just about their AGE.

They were determined to serve

Ever wonder why Ikorodu division is usually ill treated and not well considered for leadership positions in the governance of Lagos state.
However, the coordinator of Ikorodu Ambassador Forum; Comrade Rasheed Adedeji Fatuga took to his verified social media handles to unveil the undermentioned.

We are constrained to ask this question because of the way and manner the division is treated by Lagos Powers.

From 1967, when Lagos state was created, political appointments, projects citing and others are shared equally among the Five (5) Divisions in the state, Viz, Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos and Epe. This is how the IBILE acronym was formed.

During the years of military intervention, they maintained the formula. From 1999, things begin to change and Ikorodu Division is the worst affected.

Appointments are no longer shared using IBILE. At times, we are told it's based on Senatorial District. Presently, we only have only one Permanent Secretary of Ikorodu Division descent.

The latest and the basis of this write-up is the recently constituted Lagos State Local Government Service Commission.
Out of the proposed Five Members of the Commission, None is from Ikorodu Division.

In the the recently dissolved commission, All the divisions were represented.

In the last commission that was dissolved in 2015, same thing happened and when question was asked, we were told that it was done based on senatorial District.

Now, same thing is repeating itself.
If it's done on Senatorial District basis, is Epe not in the same Senatorial District with Ikorodu?

Epe have it's representative, why is Ikorodu Division not represented?
Another dummy they always sold to us is that Somolu and Kosofe are part of Ikorodu Division.

This is not correct! Somolu from where Kosofe was created is created out of Mushin Local Government.
If Mushin Local Government is in Ikeja Division, then, Somolu and Kosofe should be in Ikeja division.

Political Leaders in Ikorodu Division should lead us well and ensure that what rightly belongs to Ikorodu Division is given to Ikorodu Division!

This is our Upright Position!

The least the Lagos State Government can afford now is another demonstration in Alausa.
But if we have to move, We'll move!

Emeka Prince Ogwu is a Nigerian journalist who is fast raising to prominence. Well known as the first Nigerian journalist to write a town current affair which is IKORODU CURRENT AFFAIRS.



He was born into the renowned ogwu’s family of Ndokwa-West Local government division of Delta State on 8th June 1990. He began his educational career in 1993 at All saint primary School Ikorodu, which was also attended by Nigeria multi award winning music producer Sarz Beats. After which, he left for Ikorodu Oga primary school to complete his primary education.

For his secondary education , he proceeded to the popular Keme Balogun College, Ibeshe – Ikorodu where he completed his secondary education in record of time and obtained his west African school certificate in 2005/2006 academic sessions.

A brilliant and promising young student, in 2011 twenty one year old Emeka gained admission to the prestigious Lagos State University where he obtained his bachelor of science in public administration 2017. Unrelenting in his academic pursuit ,while he was in 200 level at the University, he sought admission to Gateway polytechnic on a sandwich programme at their Lagos satellite campus, where he obtained a National Diploma in Business Administration.

Emeka has always shown an incredible passion and interest in broadcasting and promoting Ikorodu lifestyle, entertainment, politics and general news. He has anchored numerous events within and outside the shores of Ikorodu and had shared stage performances with notable Nigerian celebrities like Odunlade Adekola, Bovi, Reminise,Reekado banks, Okey Bakasi, Omo baba, Helen Paul, Saheed Balogun , Samclef, Owen gee, Muka-Ray, Saint Janet, Murphy Afolabi and DJ Neptune to mention just a few. Moreso,Ikorodu up and coming talented artist were privileged through him to perform and shared stage performances.

While on the saddle of publicizing and promoting the community, on January 1st 2016, he premiered Ikorodu entertainment news on M .I. T.V at exactly 10:35AM . On that episode, he had a talk show and aired videos of the likes of Slimcase ,Sean Tizzle ,Chidinma, Q.dot , among other upcoming artist who were also Ikorodu residents as at that time. In 2017 , he launched Ikorodu Splash Magazine which majored on lifestyle, politics, entertainment and general news of Ikorodu community.

Nevertheless his ability to recognize opportunity that can propel Ikorodu town to limelight is unparalleled. In 2016, Gateway polytechnic honored him with a special recognition award, and in 2017, he was awarded best television personality of The year at I.M.V.A (Ikorodu Music Video Award) That same year an incorporated media company known as 36Hype made him content developer and member of board of trustee.

In 2018, another shocker was in store for him, as Lagos State endorsed C.P.E awards nominated him as the media personality of the year . Among the nominees are Azeez Makinde CEO of , Femi Edwards CEO of Comedy Plus Magazine, among others.
Shortly after that, Madiba Media signed a partnership deal with him. Indeed Emeka is an outstanding media personality in the Ikorodu axis of Lagos State. He was not struck with surprise when the convener of Lagos Our Pride Show Mr Oluwatosin bashexy asked him to join on stage while receiving his award at the Ikorodu Man Of The Year Award 2018. Mean while the likes of Lagos State House of Assembly majority leader Honourable S.O.B Agubiade, Senior editor of Tribune Newspaper ; Newton Ray, Chairman of Oriwu sun newspaper; Alhaji Monsor Olowosago, award winning outstanding counsellor in Lagos- North East ; Honourable Gbadamosi Olaomo, veteran Nollywood actor Yemi My Lover, Lucozade Boost Ambassador and MTN fitness instructor; Hilary Jackson, Regina Daniels and her father, and Nollywood actor; Muphy Afolabi has commended his immense effort on several occasions.

His quest for journalism and media led him to publish the foremost and number one club in Ikorodu “ClubLakers” on cover page of a magazine prior to Davido’s visit to the club on December 22nd 2018.

No doubt journalist Emeka Ogwu is indeed an amazing amazon for humanity, lifestyle and community development. He proved himself as an astute journalist at the Ikorodu Economic Summit 2018,where he had a brief chat with the Director of finance and Clark of Nigeria federal house of administrative OTUNBA GANIU ABIRU.

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as WizKid, who recently launched his latest album on October 29 has revealed that Naira Marley is one of his favorite artiste, adding that he loves his lyrics.
The Nigerian superstar singer revealed this in a recent interview with Beat FM, while he spoke about the process and energy that went into the making of his new album and the amount of time it took to complete the recording.
