This pictures denotes a state of great need vis-a-vis a state of complete freedom. But because the present need to overcome cold ( a result of unclothedness), he took d sticks that make up d stairs of d ladder and use it to make fire to resist d cold. This is just a short term effect and once d fire goes out, he would return to his state of need (cold). He exchanged freedom for warmth, though through ignorance, if he had endured the struggle of climbing coupled with the cold from the height and just managed to escape to d other side, he would have been a free man. He instead did otherwise to satisfy his present pressing need

This is just my take on d pics

but who is offering the freedom? How come i don't see the freedom donor?

the ladder did not come by itself. There's no other person indicated in the pics So common sense demands that we see him as the builder of the the ladder.

maybe he knew that he's on winter and rain do not fall. If you look closely in the pic, you would see goblets of snow. He sits very close to the wall, Where he's sure the snow wouldn't quench his fire. He survival ladder might be the least of his worries right now.

Dirty clothes breed bacteria and harmful germs. It is better to go naked than die of sickness in the middle of nowhere. There is nobody there to see his unclothedness.

the picture has no definite answer, its deeper than what people are saying. But one thing I am sure of is that the boy in that pic is not foolish. he didn't just burn the ladder for fun.

The last part

He must have built it while he was on the other side of the wall, and used it to climb in. He couldn't have number that wall in, it's too high

and If people lowered the ladder for him, the pic should have shown them.

Bettercreature, likes isn't the judge, it's what the pix depicts that should win it, opinions cannot sync in this kind of scenario ..

But he was in the world before. He built the ladder in the world and climbed in with it.
