of course its ikwerre land and ikwere is an igbo clan who are wasting time to claim seperate ethnic identity because of oil. there is no serious linguistic or anthropological evidence that qualifies ikwere as a seperate ethinic group. even the ijaws has many subgroups whose dialects are not even mutually intelligible, while ikwere communicate fluently with the SE igbos. Ikweres speack better igbos than ppl of Ebonyi state. There are Igallas in anambra and enugu state, we do not claim their land to be igboland just because they are in SE
that someone speaks your language does not mean he has the same history/origin with you.

There was no Igbos those days. It was all man for himself. Jaja fought with the Ndokis and Ngwas for the control of Imo river lucrative oil trade.

The Abohs terrorized the Ogbas and some Anambra communities for decades.

The Aros were a pain the ads for all other Igbo groups.

There was nothing like Jaja joining Ijaws to fight Igbos, rather Jaja was using Ijaws to fight his wars against the Ndokis/ Ngwas for the control of the Imo river.

And this was after both him and another Igbo leader in Bonny used their subordinates to fight each other Bonny, before Jaja took his Ijaw subordinates and founded Opobo.
So we can then say that JAJA was fighting for his town, opobo, against his igbo brothers? why fight if he believed he was brothers to the igbos? Jaja renounced his igbo identity. He never changed his ijaw name even when he had the chance.

Silly. Jaja doesn't see himself as an Igbo man, and you think it was a coincidence he subtly created an Igbo speaking Opobo to send a message to future generations.
I know you Ijaws have weird theories on how Opobo ended up Igbo speaking today. Jaja an Igbo man played a fast one on you Ijaw people is an angle you won't accept.
Of course Jajas had to blend into Ijaw ways to maintain Peace and stability in the place, but it would be silly of you to believe that Jaja never considered himself an Igbo, if he didn't, why do you think he retained his connection with Amaigbo his home town, and never stopped telling anyone he came from there.

Igbos sold in far away places in New world did all they could to retain their Igbo identity, but in your Ijawtic mind, an Igboman sold into Ijawland just close to Igboland suddenly stopped seeing himself as Igbo.

Kam nukwa!
But he joined the ijaws to fight against the igbos, no?
