For sometime now, there have been rumours of rife that all is not well between two super actresses, Eniola Badmus and Funke Akindele.

The general belief in town then was that both were no longer on speaking terms and that they had parted ways.

What further fuelled the rumor was the absence of Funke at Eniola’s grand birthday party.

Well, sharing a photo of Funke Akindele in her Instagram page moments ago, Eniola Badmus wrote “CRUSHING ON YOU SO BAD JUST BECAUSE ITS #WCW @funkejenifaakindele YOU’RE A STRONG AND POWERFUL WOMAN……NA ONLY IF WE COMMOT YOUR WAHALA”

Also in an interview Eniola Badmus had with City people last year, she revealed thus about her relationship with Funke Akindele.

Funke Akindele and I are still friends. We are sisters. Funke Akindele is one person. I love so dearly with my heart, because of who she is. Also, whether we like it or not, we can’t deny the fact that Jennifer blew a lot of us. She gave us that light. It helped a lot of us. We can’t forget the fact that it was Funke’s film that helped many of us.



At some point in a relationship, there will be ups and down. That is life. We can never have 100% relationship. There are some times you people will have misunderstanding atimes or disagree on some issues. Funke, whether good or bad, I can’t fight her. She remains my sister. Funke, whether good or bad, even if she’s fighting me, I can’t fight her, because I rate her so much. She’s up there. She’s big. She’s been a wonderful person to me. Whether we like it or not, her brand has actually affected my brand in a good way and I am happy with that fact. If we were fighting, she would not have come for my premiere. Funke Akindele coming for my premiere was like a huge surprise to a lot of people because people were saying a lot then. They said we are fighting. We are not together anymore.

This is the thing. There is no fight. Funke Akindele is a very busy person. She has a huge brand that she has to work on. I am also trying to build my own brand. It talks a lot to do that. I combine so many things to keep the brand going. So, everybody is trying to work on their brands.

At a point in time, 10 friends cannot continue to be friends. Not that you will fight. No. But you will all have to pursue different things at some point in time.



Whilst you are in Ibadan pursuing your career, another person might be in Ghana and another friend might be in Port Harcourt, another in Abuja. Yes you are all friends but your are all in different places pursuing different ideas and projects. We didn’t part ways. Funke and I didn’t quarrel. Funke and I didn’t fight. But at some point we just needed to work on our brands. She’s doing well. And Eniola Badmus too is doing well. It takes a lot to succeed with your brand and even after you succeed you still need to do more to sustain it.

Maybe if we didn’t have what we had at that time maybe I won’t be here now. Its not as if we fought. We didn’t fight, though there were some little side talks, or hear say.

Griot Studios Ltd and Amateur Heads Productions with Bem Pever, Ishaya Bako, Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju and Ummi A. Yakubu serving as Producers are set to release a new movie titled 4th Republic in cinemas across Nigeria from April 2019.

The movie, which is written by Emil B. Garuba and Zainab Omaki, follows the story of Mabel King (Kate Henshaw), a gubernatorial candidate who races to become Nigeria’s first female governor but is caught up around a heavily marred election.

According to the ace Nollywood actress in a statement, 4th Republic is not just a film right for the election period,

“I think what is most significant is the message it carries; we need to stand up for the truth and fight for justice. It’s our duty,” she said.


The political thriller, which also features other top actors like Bimbo Manuel, Sani Muazu, Enyinna Nwigwe, Linda Ejiofor and Yakubu Mohammed, is directed by award-winning director and writer Ishaya Bako.

In the movie, viewers are confronted with a violent and heavily marred governorship election, which sets aspirant King and her idealistic campaign manager, Ike, to discover what went wrong and seek justice through an election petition tribunal.

Their quest soon becomes a race to find and convince two young witnesses with evidence of violence at the elections to testify in court; before the opposing candidate finds them first.

The producers said that the action-packed thriller will take viewers from voting polls marred by violence and rigging to the law court as Mabel King petitions the tribunal for the seat of governor she believes was stolen from her.

The movie was funded by grants from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA).

4th Republic was shot on location in Abuja, Lokoja, and Lagos. It will be distributed by FilmOne Distribution.

EFCC Raises The Alarm Over Circulation Of Fake Dollar Notes Ahead Of Elections


“The intelligence indicates that the Dollar notes have features of genuineness, but forensic analysis by the Commission reveals otherwise.”

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a warning to Nigerians to be wary of fake Dollar notes in circulation as the country prepares for the rescheduled presidential and National Assembly elections slated for February 23, 2019.

A statement issued on Thursday by Ibrahim Magu, the Acting Chairman of the Commission, noted that the warning was a result of intelligence gathered in the build-up to the elections.

According to the statement, forensic analysis revealed that the Dollar notes looked like originals, but they are actually fake.

The statement read: “The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has raised the alarm over the circulation of fake Dollar notes ahead of Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections.


“In a statement personally signed by the Acting Chairman of the Commission, Ibrahim Magu, the agency stated that the warning follows intelligence gathered in the build up to the elections.

“The intelligence indicates that the Dollar notes have features of genuineness, but forensic analysis by the Commission reveals otherwise.

“We, therefore, warn the BDC operators to be cautious in their transactions from now till the end of the elections.”

Oyo State Government has endorsed the sack of a son of a former governor of the State as the Executive Chairman, Ogbomoso North Local Government, Mr Olamijuwon Alao-Akala.

In his place, the former Vice Chairman Mr Abas Bello has been announced and sworn in an acting capacity to chair the Council.



The decision follows the change of party loyalty on the part of the sacked council boss from the ruling All Progressive Party (APC) to the Action Democratic Party (ADP), the platform on which ex-governor Alao-Akala is contesting the governorship seat.

The state government made the announcement as well as the swearing in of the Acting Council boss through the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Bimbo Kolade at the Agodi Secretary, Ibadan on Wednesday.

The sacked Council boss would be recalled was elected on May 12 on the platform of APC but alongside some of his councillors defected to the ADP to support his father’s ambition.

While speaking at the swearing-in of the Acting Council boss, the Commissioner noted that the ministry had on February 18 received official correspondences from the Council’s legislative body announcing the suspension of Mr Alao-Akala.

The commissioner said that the councillors had suspended the chairman for alleged “misconduct and abuse of office”.

Civil Servants To Get February Salary Early So They Can Travel For Elections


Aero Contractors has agreed to give 50 per cent discount to travellers, while Arik Air has also reduced prices of tickets to N16,000 to all destinations in the country between February 18 and March 11, 2019.

The Nigerian government has issued a directive for the immediate payment of workers’ salaries for the month of February.

Addressing journalists after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday in Abuja, Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, said the move is to ensure that those who wish to travel for the presidential and National Assembly elections rescheduled for Saturday, February 23, 2019, are financially capable of doing so.

According to Mohammed, the salary payment had commenced since Tuesday and is to “ease the burden off civil servants planning to travel for the elections”.

What APC Plans To Do To Voters On Saturday – Dino Melaye Reveals

The Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, has raised the alarm over a plan by the All Progressives Congress, APC, to prevent voters from participating in Saturday’s elections in Zamfara State.

Melaye alleged that the APC was plotting to stop voters from coming out to perform their civic duty on Saturday.

He made the allegation while speaking at the 84th emergency meeting of the PDP National Executive Council (NEC) on Tuesday in Abuja.

The alleged deployment of $111 million for vote-buying across the states under by the opposition party has caused jitters in the ranks of the APC.

The All Progressives Congress said it is bothered by the leaked security report of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) plan to deploy $111 million for vote-buying across the states under the pretence of “logistics” during the General Elections.

APC said the plan raises new fears ahead of the forthcoming polls.

“It is now clear that the PDP has no plans to win the elections through legitimate votes, but through illegally procured votes”, Lanre Issa-Onilu, the APC national publicity secretary said.

“Again, in the aftermath of the configured card readers recently recovered from PDP agents in some states, the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has gone to town with face-saving conspiracies that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has imported slow-working card readers from China which will be deployed to the South South and South East which Atiku considers his “stronghold”.

“Atiku also alleges a plan to shut down communication on Election Day. How illogical that a party that is in a contest with clear superior numerical support would shutdown communication on Election Day. Will the communication shutdown affect only the PDP while leaving APC supporters and agents? Nigerians can see through the infantile lies.

“Nigerians will recall that the APC had earlier reported the PDP’s plot before last Saturday’s postponed elections. The recent arrest of several armed PDP political thugs and recovery of INEC card readers and arms from PDP agents in some states points directly to the PDP’s plan as revealed by the security report.

“Atiku has called on the president to retract his instruction to security agencies regarding violence, ballot box thieves, and other electoral malpractices. The question is how such instruction disturbs anyone that is truly interested in free, fair and credible elections.

“We reiterate the resolution of the Monday’s meeting of the APC expanded National Caucus which urged the security agencies to step up their activities by ensuring that all those involved in violence, ballot box snatching, falsification of results, vote-buying and other election illegalities should face the full weight of the law. It is a shame that PDP is kicking against this. We are not surprised because PDP has marshalled plans to get to power by all means possible. The option of one man one vote is not on the PDP’s table.

“Atiku has admitted what we already know that he is not popular by claiming he has two geopolitical zones while the APC has the four other geopolitical zones. On Election Day, Atiku and the PDP should prepare for the shock of their lives. The South South and South East are not oblivious of the unprecedented developmental achievements recorded in the zones under the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration, compared to the PDP’s wasted years. The good people of the South South, South East and indeed all the geopolitical zones will speak through their legitimate votes, not the procured ballots planned by the PDP.

“The PDP’s illegal plot requires improved surveillance by our security agencies particularly the Department of State Services (DSS), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and allied agencies to check illicit financial flows and movement in the lead-up to and on Election Day.

“On INEC’s part, following the unfortunate last-minute postponement of the election, the electoral body must realise that it has a lot to prove to the Nigerian electorate that it is still able to conduct credible elections. A first step will be that the electoral body identify and change its officers who have now beyond doubt become partisan and are actively working for partisan interests.

“Finally, PDP Tuesday’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting has achieved only one thing: Atiku and PDP sank into a new low of rudeness and incivility. They showed acute disrespect to the office of the President with the choice of words employed. This is the same office they intend to occupy”.
