Science/Technology / Youverify Launches Youid, An All-in-one Security And Lifestyle App by Naijmobile: 9:10am On Jul 26, 2021
YouID is a product of Youverify the technology company focused on identity and access management with biometric identity verification and other digital identity solutions. The innovation comes on the heels of the costly and recurring threats that individuals and organisations have to grapple with online.

The internet and communication technologies have revolutionized the way individuals communicate and transact with one another. This change is not peculiar to individuals alone as businesses – micro, small, medium, and large have embraced and adopted some level of technology or the other to enable them operate in simpler, more intuitive, and efficient ways.
These technological changes, incremental in nature, have over the course of time gained acceptance and become prevalent, connecting individuals and institutions across different time zones and continents, and at the same time creating a new digitally enabled culture and economy.

These advancements in technology and connectivity require users to have or create digital identities of some sort, vis-a-vis filling out online forms in order to gain access to services, mobile Apps, websites as well as certain software and tools. Their identities are captured via email addresses, usernames, passwords, phone numbers and in some case their location – a process which could be cumbersome, time-consuming, and sometimes frustrating, especially because it requires individuals to memorize usernames and passwords to be able to login to sites and access information or tools available there.

Again, there is also the burden and risk associated with moving around with important documents such as government-issued identifications like the international passport, national identity cards, driver’s licenses, and vehicle documents.

“My Whole Life took a leap in 2020” – Laycon Pens Inspirational message to Celebrate his achievements

Winner of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) season 5, Olamilekan Agbeleshe popularly known as Laycon has recently dropped an inspiring message to celebrate his achievements in 2020

According to the reality TV star, its not an easy journey. He said

I'm not gonna come here and tell you everything you already know. I'm gonna tell you how hard it was so you know it's always hard, it has to be hard because if it isn't, then everyone and anyone will be able to do it.

The TV reality star took to his Twitter page to explain his way to success, "So it was hard, having to change the release date of my EP over and over again was mentally draining, coming up with an elaborate plan for physical promotion of the Ep was... Heck I had to go learn how to use Adobe PS and the video editing thing so I can get contents done asap"

I'm not gonna come here and tell you everything you already know. I'm gonna tell you how hard it was so you know it's always hard, it has to be hard because if it isn't, then everyone and anyone will be able to do it.

So it was hard, having to change the release date of my EP over and over again was mentally draining, coming up with an elaborate plan for physical promotion of the Ep was... Heck I had to go learn how to use Adobe PS and the video editing thing so I can get contents done asap though I didn't become an expert at it, I knew I had to learn and know how to do the basic artworks and video editing (inshot) also helped. My whole goal for the EP wasn't to blow, it was to put my name in conversations... Truth is WHO IS LAYCON was my life goal for 2020

Hence why I feel like everything I had to go through to get it out was worth it. It was hard, being stucked in the house alone during lockdown, unable to promote your EP cause you've maxed out all your resources. Can't create varieties of contents cause of various limitations.

Sending all those dms...lol... Mails, what else didn't I try self? But the EP has to get out, people have to listen to it somehow someway... And then I saw the link and truth is that was also HARD AF but that's another story. I have alot of things to share with you guys.

But the truth is a thread wouldn't do, you'll hear them and understand them more in in my music. But I want us to go into 2021 with the mindset that it's only gonna get harder. Truth is it never gets easier, you just get better at it and getting better is what we should aim for.

This year has been a lot for me, a whole lot, but it's not even close to my best year yet. 2021 is gonna be a great year for me, I'll grow bigger, I'll grow in all phases of my life. I'll win in life, in real life. I'll find and experience happiness alot.

'll put out alot of quality music, I'll top the charts, I'll become bigger than I am and I'll open doors for others to grow and evolve. I'll play to win but when I lose, I'll learn and I'll grow. 2021 is gonna my best year ever.

3. The Royals Stepping Down

In January, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they were stepping down from their duties as senior royals.

Nairaland / General / 14 Things Nigerians Do Every Day That Are Illegal In North Korea by Naijmobile: 5:01am On Dec 13, 2020
Well count yourself lucky you can at least have a bottle of Coca-cola, watch porn when konji starts knocking and blast some Zlatan Ibile songs in your bedroom – because all of these are illegal in North Korea. Here are 14 everyday things that’ll get you in serious trouble in North Korea

1.Drinking Coca-cola
For the average Nigerian, Sunday rice is never complete without a cold bottle of Coca-cola but in North-Korea it is not sold there. North-Koreans buy coke knock-offs from grocery stores, hold their noses and imagine they are drinking Coca-cola. Poor souls!

2. Watching Cable Television
In North Korea, there is no Zee World, MNet, MTV Base or any kind of station you enjoy here in Nigerian. North Korea only has 4 official TV channels available in the country. Censorship by the government is so strong that it does not allow any other type of television.

3. Playing Music
No Wizkid, Davido, Zlatan, Naria Marley or any foreign music for these guys. If North Koren musicians are not singing about how great Kim Jong-un is they are singing about how great North-Korea is.

5. Using iPhone
There is a restriction on selling any type of modern high-tech device to North Korea. Buying an iPhone is not possible. However, North Korea had developed its own tablet PC that boasts of being a substitute for any Western ones.

Nairaland / General / Drama Everywhere - Here Are All The Top News Stories Of 2020 (so Far) by Naijmobile: 7:52am On Jan 06, 2020
Days into 2020, it is already shaping up to be year chaos and drama. From the demolition of Bukola Saraki House by Kwara State Government to rising tensions between Iran and USA. Davido and baby mama saga, it can be hard to keep up. Which stories have Nigerians and the rest of the world been talking about so far? Check them out below:

US killing of Qassem Soleimani

General Qasem Soleimani was killed by an airstrike ordered by US President Donald Trump on Friday 3 January 2020. An airstrike is an attack by a military aircraft, in this case, a drone, either by bombing or by firing guns.

General Qasem Soleimani was seen as the second most powerful person in Iran, only behind Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

There are serious worries about how Iran will respond. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said, "severe revenge awaits the criminals" behind the attack. And this led many talking about a possible World War III.

Floods in Indonesia

On the 2nd Jan 2020, Landslides and floods triggered by torrential downpours left at least 60 people dead in and around Indonesia’s capital as rescuers continue to search for survivors. The death toll stands at 60 but that is expected to rise, and more rain has been forecast.

Ongoing Australian bushfire crisis

Australia is currently facing an unprecedented national crisis, as bushfires tear through rural communities across the nation. 9 people have been confirmed dead with over 2,500 buildings destroyed.

Bomb attack in Burkina Faso
