I actually understand the L1 visa process.

In fact, I have submitted my L1 petition for a new office I set up in the US to transfer myself as the CEO from Nigeria.

I am simply looking for someone in Nigeria who has gone through the L1 visa to share their interview experience and timelines in getting a petition approved.

Thats employer intra company transfer though.
Pretty straight forward since its your employer that initiates. Only person I know on nl worked in oil and gas.
Others I know of were from the uk, accounting firms and software firms consultants.

No! This is the first time I am trying to reschedule my appointment. I will simply attend the interview with the old ds160 if I am unable to reschedule with the new DS-160.

Just to clarify, I actually contacted the AVITS help line earlier this week to request an update of my DS-160 on my appointment profile to reflect my new confirmation number.

However, they informed me that because my appointment date (November 20) is within three business days, they’re unable to update my DS-160 information in the system right now.

According to their message, “once the current appointment date has passed, it will be possible to update your appointment profile with the new DS-160 confirmation number, and we will inform you accordingly.”

The challenge I’m facing now is that when I log in to my AVITS portal and try to reschedule, the system keeps saying:

“Your appointment is already booked.”

So at the moment, I’m unable to proceed with a reschedule or update until after the 20th.

I just wanted to explain the situation clearly in case anyone else has faced something similar, your insights are truly helpful

You do not have to contact avits help-line for authorisation in order to update your DS-160, and having contacted them they only advised you to update (leaving the gap of ) 3- days prior to your interview.

No, you can no longer attend interview with old and new ds-160 because you will be turned back.

If you wait till after the date of your interview (missed your appointment) and later send an email to the embassy for rescheduling they wont respond to you because it would be counted that you deliberately missed your interview, thereby you would need to purchase another visa fee.

Login to your profile right away and request to update your DS-160 by opening a support ticket (DS-160 update is free). Wait till down or tomorrow and print out a new visa appointment letter and look out for the new DS-160 confirmation number in your newly downloaded letter. If it reflect then you have successfully updated.

Otherwise you should reschedule your appointment right now or attend your interview with your old DS-160. 👍

Hello everyone, I need some quick clarification on my B1/B2 visa appointment.

My current U.S. B1/B2 interview is scheduled for November 20 at the Abuja Embassy.

I originally submitted my DS-160 in December 2024, but I recently created a new DS-160 with updated travel information.

I contacted U.S. Avits support, but they said they cannot update my DS-160 profile since my appointment is within three business days and that the DS-160 confirmation must be within six months of the appointment date.

Please, I’d like expert advice on this:

✅ Can I attend the interview with both my old and new DS-160 confirmation pages, explaining the situation to the officer?

OR

✅ Is it better to wait until after the November 20 interview date passes, then contact support to reschedule a new date and link the new DS-160 instead (without paying a new fee)?

With a profile like yours, a refusal can be annoying. It's a constant reminder that visa approvals are totally at the discretion of the embassy. You can do everything right and still be refused a visa for the most flimsy excuse, it comes down to the consular officer treating your application.

If you are not pressed for time, I would recommend seeking redress by way of filing a complaint or Pre-Action Protocol. However, a faster option would be to put in another applciation and taking time to address the concerns raised in the refusal letter. Since the money went into paying rent and school fees you can show proof of the expenditure. Those expenditures allude to strong ties.

Your refusal is quite annoying to say the least. It's not enough to show bank statements, one now has to explain the circumstances of the statement. This is the reality of a visa applicant in Nigeria

I do acknowledge my mistake of using a bank statement with a low opening balance. I initially assumed that my closing balance would be considered sufficient proof of funds for my 10-day trip to the UK, given my regular monthly salary payments over the last six months. Now I understand better. However, this was just my salary account statement provided, and not my business account. I am the ceo of the business, and I pay myself a salary from the business account. My salary was not always N5M+ from 2016 till now. It increased with time as the company grew. Last time I applied for the UK visa in 2022, my salary was just N1M+

I provided sufficient evidence of my business, including pictures of me with my staff and office, as well as pictures of my family, landed properties, and tenancy agreement to establish strong home and economic ties. I had no intention to overstay, I was going for a vacation and to visit my elder brother in the UK, who is a British citizen. I visited Dubai in 2021, Singapore in 2022, France in 2024, and Qatar this year, 2025.

All the reasons for my previous UK refusals were due to mistakes in how I presented my account statement, which i have always tried to fix in the next application but still end up with another mistake.

My question now is, how do I submit an official complaint on my visa application if submitting another application may likely not fly?

Take your time to digest your refusal letter.
You want to go for a vacation? You don’t have funds, you depleted your account so what kind of vacation will that be? The trip is not compulsory.
If you paid school fees and all your expenses that means you had nothing to fall back on few months ago and next moment you decided to go on a trip which will not add any value to you just for the sake of… they can not issue such a visa.
You could have at least submitted the statement of account after you had funds not from when your opening bal was 209k for a CEO earning millions as you wrote since 2016. It does not just add up and this is the issue I have on this thread with people just expecting stories to be picked up and accepted by the ECO hook, line and sinker because we said it. No proof, no clear reasons, no clear evidence.
You can come in, seek asylum and start benefiting from tax payer funded benefits as clearly the business that dropped to 200k can not be a home tie.
Also if truly you have been earning these millions since 2016 as you stated, how come
1. Your travel history is non existent- again Dubai and Qatar do not count to the US or UK visa officer in 2025.
2. The France visa was when?
3. Someone earning these millions in the last 9 years surely would have had multiple trips to one of the first world nations.
4. Worst thing working against you was already you had 2 to 3 prior refusals… they reduce chances especially if you are not an elderly applicant or a financially/economically secure applicant eg been in a salaried role.
5. Your circumstances are wishy washy and neither here or there and very risky for any visa officer to say on a balance of probabilities you would come back.
This is why you were denied.
Do not reapply.
If you want to go back, put in an official complaint and use that one maybe your goal can enter because you might be lucky but not to reapply. You will be denied again.

I do have a good travel history.

I got a Schengen visa through France and I have been to Qatar, Singapore, and Dubai.

With three previous refusals,I stronly suggest you leave the UK for now and try other Countries. You can try Schengen visa.

If you try again, you might get another refusal.

I would appreciate your honest advice on the next steps to take after receiving my third UK refusal.

I have attached the reasons of my refusal this time around.

I would like to know if I can reapply immediately and explain the reason for the low opening balance which was due to the fact I just paid my rent and child's school fees? and also now submit my recent 6 months statement with a higher opening balance of N5M and closing balance of N13M in my salary account.

I do have a well established business and pay myself regularly every month.

I was rejected in 2019, 2022 and just recently. This will be my 4th UK visit application and I would like to make it perfect this time to address their concerns with my account statement.

Had a previous renewal refusal 2022 didn’t bother reapplying.
Reason for denial the tax clearance for company was not included the agent said no need.

Thanks to everyone, read and read page by page and just decided to try since circumstances had changed and l didn’t bother using an agent this time around.

@nairabase… if I had 2 previous UK refusals like yourself I would do all in my power to change any thing that could bring me a refusal. If you have not acquired any significant travel history since the both refusals then I would do things the easier method and pay my self a salary and take it from there. There’s no need been in a rush and at the finish line, you end up crashing. That is never my modus operandi.

I have actually been to Singapore, and Dubai for visit after my UK visa rejection. However, I am not sure they will consider these destinations as a solid travel history.

I am re applying again for a UK visit visa because my brother is inviting me for his graduation in September.

This is a once in a lifetime event, and it means me missing out if i start building a salary statement of account before applying again.

I have a daughter in Nigeria but not married, and properties in my name to establish home ties.

My major concern is knowing if an invoice for my clients can verify source of funds in my personal account.

I need advice from the UK visa experts out there.

I am applying for my 3rd UK visit visa after getting rejected twice in 2019 and 2022.

My first and second rejections are due to proof of funds. Although I usually have more than enough balance to cover my trip expenses, but they require me to explain my sources of funds.

There is something i will like to add never be scared of competition because the make money online niche
is choked or over crowded doesnt mean you cant succeed in it. The reason the niche is filled with competitors
is because there is money in the niche. who says you can beat the competition? its left on you belief anyway.

If you really want to build an online empire that will continously making you millions. choose a big niche like the
wealth, health, or relationship niche. follow the niche you have more passion for. as for me i love the make money
online niche. the reason am telling you to go with a big niche is so you can always have products to sell to your
customer base.

it doesnt make sense to build a business on a niche that you run out of ideas when you sell one or two products and
you start searching for another profitable niche to sell another one or two products.
