What happens to the 80% of the world population (5bn) that are not Christians? That's another thing to ponder on........will they be going to hell? won't hell be overpopulated? would a loving God be happy seeing his creations in hell? Something is seriously wrong with religion. |

malvisguy212: "But Jesus answered them, saying, "The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain " John 12:23-24
Jesus did not look forward to doing what was necessary. "Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this purpose I came to this hour " (John 12:27 ). Notice that Jesus did not like what he had to face, but he willingly chose to do it because that was what as needed. "As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. ... Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father " (John 10:15-17 -18).
Jesus was commanded by the Father to sacrifice himself in order to save mankind from their sins. No one forced Jesus to obey that command, including the Father. Now john 12:27 has answered my question which brings about another question: didn't Jesus know about this 'purpose' before he prayed to God that let the cup pass over him? And what prompted him to say a loving God forsook him if he knows he's fulfilling a purpose? |

solite3: Jesus died to save anyone who believe in him from the coming wrath of God. Every human is in trouble before God although they do not fully understand yet but some day before the throne of judgement they will understand it. Op one day you will stand before the throne of the great and terrible God and there is nothing, I repeat nothing that would save you from condemnation. This is why Jesus died, he took up our judgement so that those who believe on him will be saved from that Judgement.
John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. My question was: did he willingly die to save anyone? Stop threatening me with condemnation from a 'terrible' God. |

cjfbn: Jesus did not come to die for our sins. He came to show us the way back to the almighty through his message of love, but the Pharisees and saducces felt threatened and made false accusations against him and murdered him. Remember his prayers on the cross,Father forgive them, for they know not what they do. So the verses in the bible about him dying for our sins are fallacies? |

bloodofthelamb: Renew your thinking with something of good report. That is all i can say. Report like? I'm still yet to understand how he died for my sins so at least I'll know I'm giving my life to Christ for a reason. |

Okay recently I was made to understand that Jesus Christ whom we all claim to be a Messiah that supposedly died for our sins didn't even want to die........maybe the human in him sha.
He prayed to God to save him and in the long run while on the cross of calvary, he claimed his father, God, had forsaken him.
Can anybody explain to me how I'm suppose to believe he died for my sins when he didn't die willingly and even the God he came from forsook him..........If God cannot answer the prayer of a being like Jesus, how can I be convinced that he has been answering mine?
Just thinking......... |
