Chelsea second

Chelsea in second position at the end of the 2020-21 season will be a good result for Frank Lampard. They have signed top players at their peak but Chelsea problem this season will be their style of playing. They created chances and scored loads of goals but conceded on almost every shot on target. Many blamed Kepa for the goals conceded but the truth lies in the midfield and defense. Rudiger and Zouma pairing won’t work, they are both erratic and need someone calm like Fikayo Tomori. The Anglo-Nigerian shines in the first half of the season where Chelsea racked up cleansheets but injury problem cost him first team opportunities. Azpilicueta is out of sorts and lacks the leadership spirit to Marshall the backline. Thiago Silva acquisition looks like a success on paper but the question is how many matches will he play? Chelsea in 2020-21 season will be like Serie A Atalanta. They will score goals and concede a lot.

The midfield relies on only Kante as the defensive midfielder which shouldn’t be so. The French man has been nursing an injury that may keep him yet again for some key matches this coming season.

Chelsea need to sign someone to help Kante if they want to win the league. It’s not all about Kepa but the struggling defense and defensively porous midfield.

Second position is the best they can achieve in the 2020-21 season.

Manchester united first

Manchester united last won the league 7 years ago in 2012-13 season under Alex Ferguson and I think they are ripe for it again. They currently have the most complete squad in the league and a coach that’s ready to prove a point. Dean Henderson is back from Sheffield meaning De Gea must be at his best to continue as the first choice. They are one of the strongest in the midfield position with adequate quality players in every midfield department. Donny Van de Beek signing is a boost to an already solid midfield. He will provide energy to the midfield and support Pogba there with Fred, Mctomminay, and Matic likely to fight for first team opportunities. That’s a healthy competition there.

The emergence of Greenwood on the right has relegated Daniel James to the bench. The attack line in the forthcoming season will be Rashford, Martial, and Greenwood which will be devastating considering their mobility. The trio scored 44 goals in the 2019-20 premier league season with 50 plus goals expected from them this season.

The defense is their only weakness especially in the center back position. The first choice Central defenders is Maguire and Lindelof with Bailly the other option. Rojo is not in Solskjaer plan and Smalling us to be sold to Roma. It is likely Solskjaer signs another center back to bolster the defense line.

They have no problem in the full back position with Bissaka proving solid and Luke Shaw putting his injuries in the past. Daniel James may end up turning to a full back just to get playing chances similar to what Alex Ferguson did with Antonio Valencia. It’s a bright season for Manchester united who is still in pursuit of Jadon Sancho. I see them winning the 2020-21 Premier League.

Despite this, I believe his impending move to Aston Villa is ill-advised. It is an act of desperation that could backfire.

Aston Villa escaped relegation with just a point separating them and Bournemouth last season. They will be in the relegation fight this season too. Their conceded goals statistics is alarming as they conceded 67 goals which is the second highest in the 2019/2020 premier league season. Their championship performance in 2018/2019 season saw them concede 61 goals which is an increase from 2017/2018 42 goals.

A look at the game week 1 matches in the 2020-21 premier league season shows what's in store for Aston Villa.

You can deduce from the above that Aston Villa will concede atleast 50 goals this season which will paint Emiliano Martinez bad. It's not going to be only his fault but the whole Aston Villa team poor performance.

Aston Villa have not shown any sign of seriousness in the transfer market and that might lead to their drop to the Championship. Grealish cannot be relied upon in every matches. He won't play all the positions especially the defense where they are lacking quality players.

He's currently playing champions league football and winning trophies.

Ospina is another example that found solace in Napoli. Leno arrival means lack of playing chances and subsequently shipped to Napoli on loan. His first season performance made Napoli sign him on a permanent basis.

Emiliano Martinez agent can do better than Aston Villa. There is Inter Milan with the aging Samir Handanovic who is 36 years already and backup goalkeeper Daniele Padelli who is 34 years. They are a better club under Conte and Martinez will fit in seamlessly. He will have a better chance at trophies and national team callup.

Inter Milan new found love with Premier League players have made things easier for him and his agent. Inter Milan are in the champions league and hoping to beat Juventus to the Serie A gong.

Joining Aston Villa at the age of 28 means he will be 29 by the end of 2020-21 season and the chance of moving to a top club is slim if Aston Villa should get relegated. He will only be rotated among bottom clubs just like Fabianski left Swansea for another bottom club Westham.

I hope he rethink the Aston Villa decision and move to a better club. He deserves a top club where he will showcase his talent.
