Onitsha used to be very dirty, I'll admit it. This is because, this city has the largest street market in Africa.

This city evolved from a market. It was never an administrative centre.

Any way, that was in the past. Onitsha is no longer dirty as it used to be. Just like Eastleigh.

Eastleigh is a neighborhood within a city, Onitsha is a city. Wrong comparison. I watched on BBC how Port Harcourt used to be clean now it's dirty as Bleep. If Port Harcourt has gone dirty you can never convince me a dumpshit like Onitsha would become clean.

The 2nd picture cannot compare the first and 3rd because the houses in the 1st and 3rd are concrete block built houses with street numbers and lanes. They are just very old and were built in congestion.

The 2nd picture only has tempoarily built zinc and wooden structures not fit to be called a house. It has no foundation, appartments, streets, roofing, ceiling, toilet facilities or pipe borne water. But most of the houses in the 1st and 3rd pictures posses the afore-mentioned.

Gosh! I've been educating Kenyans here from day 1... Why do I have to bear the pains of the failed educational system of Kenya?


Old houses which are now in terrible shape and illegally built temporary rubbish are 2 very different things. They are not analogous!

Stop fighting the wind buddy. Those are slums. A slum is a slum. The problem with you is you'll deny even your own mother in her face. You need to be a special kind of fool to deny this user not a slum.

You guys try to force slum status on Nigeria but it just would not work because in Nigerian cities, anyone can acquire land to build structures anywhere. This creates room for very affordable housing at the expansions of the cities. So, there is a house for every pocket size in Nigerian cities. This largely discourages the creation of slums.

This is why the only full blown slum in Nigeria (Makoko) is on water. It just couldn't be founded on land cos it definitely would never had survived to it's current size.

Actually, Nigeria is the slum capital of Africa. 90% of some of your cities are slums. We've been through this several times.

Makoko with a population of 170,000 is the only slum in Lagos state (with 21 million people), while Nairobi with only 6 million people have dozens of slums with millions of residents.

That is the aerial view of Makoko, can you show us the aerial view of another slum in Lagos?

Lol.....most of Lagos is a slum, you don't want us to go there. Makoko just happens to be the worst but many other neighborhoods such as Ojuelegba and Ajegunle are slums too.

Port Harcourt isn't as bad as Onitsha, Ibadan, Abeokuta et Al but it has slums. I just wanted to debunk the part where you claimed it has no slums. All cities in Nigeria have slums but some of them are almost 100% slum.

Yes, Ibadan has a very large old city section with rusty roofs. But when you go to the ground level, these are what the old houses look like.

Can you compare these houses to your Kenyan slums?

Most of these houses are apartment styled storey houses built with concrete blocks, with toilet facilities and pipe borne water.
They are just very old and clustered.

Ibadan was the regional capital of the Western region hence this city boasted the first sky scrapper, first radio station and first tv station in Africa.
At the fall of regionalism in 1967. Most of the rich and middle class people of Ibadan started moving en mass to Lagos. This is why Ibadan is the way it is.

Luckily, the slums constitute a very tiny section of Nairobi. Meanwhile 90% of Ibadan looks like this.
