So, do you think you are making any difference here?

Just as Nairobi city proper has it's own county, Lagos city proper has it's own local government areas.
How on earth would someone join Ikorodu city to Lagos city for instance? They are different cities!

It takes hours from Ikorodu to certain parts of Lagos city and people in Ikorodu completely live their lives independent of Lagos city.

Is there a wall or international boundary that seperates Nairobi from Kiambu and other suburban counties?

Why should you be comparing a city with a state of different cities, are you nuts?

Compare Lagos city with Nairobi city or compare the entire Nairobi urban area to Lagos mega urban area, period.
What are you even going on about? City v City, Metro v Metro, whichever way you want Nairobi still thrashes Lagos. lol.

I also checked Nakuru in google maps and saw nothing impressive about the city.
Onitsha is a market city. A large chunk of it are markets and not residential homes.
Compare Nakuru with Enugu or Owerri. These are the more residential cities where Onitsha business people live.
Nakuru is a serene clean city that makes everyone who visits it fall in love with it.
......and what the hell do you mean by market city? lol. grin grin grin grin Some of the dumb excuses you people give. SMH. Are you trying to say the millions of people in Onitsha don't live in Onitsha but commute there on a daily basis? grin grin grin

Onitsha is a damn large city with over 1M people - whether it's a market city, mining city, school city, port city, toilet city, sex city or whatever dumb name you wish to give it, it doesn't deserve to be in the shape it is. That is a shame to the cities of Africa. You guys really need lessons in city planning - cities like Onitsha, Aba, Abeokuta, Ibadan, Kano et all are really depressing.

Enugu still has nothing on Nakuru other than size though it is a massive improvement from Onitsha.

Enugu

Hehe! How about we excise the nothern regions of Kenya where the levels of underdevelopment are the highest? Then we compare the levels of development btwn the Nigerian southern region vs Kenya' s. It wont change the facts reflected by the statistics.
I told him the same too. lol

I had explained exctly that several pages ago, that in real sense Kenya has more dollar milionaires per capita than Nigeria, given its reltively small population.

Kenya has 9500 millionaires, 6000 less than Nigeria, whose population is 4x Kenya' s
Yeah.....true that.

Again this guy who's comparing the most developed part of Nigeria with the whole of Kenya is delusional. That's like comparing Muthaiga alone to New York and claiming Nairobi is better than New York.

The argument is, if we take away the south of Nigeria ( or most prosperous parts of Nigeria) and that of Kenya, the statistics would no longer favour Kenya. Consider the Northern states such as katsina, sokoto, zamfarawa, amongst the poorest in Nigeria such that that they had to battle with polio, and also the North east affected by Boko Haram leaving many displaced persons constitute the largest population in Nigeria rivalled only by Lagos. It is a fact that Nigeria has the largest middle class in Africa and still growing, if we put all of these together, the best of Kenya does not come close by any measure.
If we take only Lagos for instance as a country with 27 million people, it has very low illiteracy rate, a large middle class, a higher HDI, and as small as it is, would still be more powerful than Kenya. Anambra alone without oil competes with Rivers states and outshines Delta and ondo states in terms of revenue (all oil producing states), with Onitsha the largest market in west Africa. Forget it, the best of Nigeria is still extremely powerful in Africa despite the recession and very high poverty rate. Lagos, Portharcourt and Anambra alone would only compete with Egypt and south africa.
And I'm telling you to stop that argument since you'll be leaving out almost 60% of Nigeria. How about we take out the South of Nigeria and do comparisons using the North?

Yeah that's right, the point is that what you call percentage in the Nigerian context can make up about seven African nations put together, and is already about the size of Kenya and Ghana combined. Nigeria despite the high poverty rate also has the largest middle class in Africa, and highest number of millionares with exclusion of southafrica and Egypt, so it is a paradox in one country. Everything is in the same country at it's extreme.
Percentages is what we talk of not absolute numbers. Remember you might have a big absolute middle class but so do you have a big pauper population and people living below poverty lines. BTW Nigeria has 15000 millionaires, Kenya has 9500. That's a two thirds of Nigeria's yet you have 4 times our population.

Stop using absolute numbers and use percentages. When you claim Nigerian has among the largest middle classes and millionaires you forget it also has among the largest paupers and people living below the poverty line. BTW Kenya has 9500 millionaires. That's a third of what Nigeria has (15000). Considering Nigeria has 4 times Kenya's population can you really claim Nigeria is doing well in that aspect?

Jesus. Is Kenya really a democratic govt? That's too sad!

Do you read nairaland threads at all? Have you ever bumped into Nigerians on facebook/twitter on political discussions? We insult and denigrate each others tribes, cultures, states, governors, traditional rulers, religious leaders and all manners of hate speeches.
Only extreme hate speeches may get one arrested, but even rarely does the arrest happen.
Actually the more democracy is most of the time directly proportional to sensitivity in a society. Take the US and UK for instance. They are clearly the prefects of democracy in the modern world and among the most Democratic nations on earth. Look at how sensitive their media is and how it scrutinizes statements directed to groups - especially minorities.

Lie is not good for you brother.

On page 712,2017 I proved Kenya doesn't have more than 6 skyscrapers completed. It has been verified by many reliable sources.

On the other hand, Nigeria has 8 completed skyscrapers as at today, I mean nau nau.

Just follow what I explained in the Nairobi post and you will be able to understand the snapshots below.

The skyscrapers marked green indicated that the projects are completed and they are 5 in numbers.

1, NECOM House - 158 m
2, Union Bank building - 124 m
3, Independent house - 103 m
4, intercontinental hotel - 101 m
5, Central Bank of Nigeria - 100 m

However, three skyscrapers are omitted or not included even though they actually exist are;

6, Ministry of Communication building - 109 m
7, Eko Tower 2 - 110 m
8, Eko_Pearl_Towers (black pearl) - 110 m

As you can see, Lagos has more skyscrapers than the whole of Kenya.
1. Nairobi has 10 complete buildings over 100m and over 8 under construction.

2. Actually Africa has only two skyscrapers. One in Johannesburg and the other in Nairobi. The official definition of a skyscraper is a building of over 200m height. Two more skyscrapers are under construction in Nairobi which will push the number of African skyscrapers to 4.

Read about Mombasa again when you are more sober.Thank you.
I am in Mombasa right now. Stop talking about things you don't know. From your previous post you simply googled about Mombasa and now you want to talk like you know Mombasa so well - meanwhile I started learning about the history of Mombasa before I even joined primary school. Don't talk about things you don't know a thing about. Ask me about Mombasa if you wish to learn.

If Nigerian women are bleaching addicts then so are Kenyans, Somalians, Ghanaians, Sourh Africans, Cameroonians ect. You haven't even removed the log from your own eye.
I don't see people from the countries you mentioned apart from Somalia making fun of other Africans for their dark skin.
