stanisbaratheon: I know this is not the right place to post this but I felt I might get lucky someone in authority sees this.
Someone sent a package containing an apple phone and about 900 pounds inside from abroad to a colleague of mine here in Nigeria but the package was held up at the airport by customs. Someone from the airport called my colleague to pay 50k to clear the phone & money which he did, but they kept calling him for more money.
Now, I don't know how the customs people at the airports operate but I think my colleague is being played out of his money and that item that was sent to him from abroad. My colleague is even tired of the whole thing and is thinking about giving up on the item and his money but I told him not to give up just yet.
Please what should he do to at least get his money back?? Or better still get that item that was sent to him. Thanks for your help. how are you sure an item was actually sent?. |

Jcuttie: Pls mummys and daddys in the house, what do I do to stop my four months old son from sucking his hands. His sucking is not due to hunger cos he sucks even when he just finish breastfeeding, he must suck before he can fall asleep if not he’d just be crying and struggling to sleep. If I use hand mitten, he soaks it up n that still doesn’t stop him. His sucking doesn’t affect his feeding cos he’s feeding pattern didn’t change, my husband said I should leave him that he would out grow it but I became worried again when I read of someone here saying it would affect his dentition. Secondly is his pooing pattern, he poops once in a week now, maybe because I’m beginning to introduce solid foods to him, and he doesn’t like drinking water cos I’m not sure if breast milk would help digest the solid foods cos his poops is always hard. Pls how do I go about this cos I even give him orange like every other day cos he’s sweet mouthed hoping the orange will help but still it doesn’t. Pls I really need your replies. I’m a FTM @nameflow, @zayne @all mummies and daddies as regarding the sucking.. My honest opinion is let him be for now.. But solid food for a 4 month old is rather too early. I personally believe in exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months and when not feasible.. Formula feed Which is still liquid based.. His system isn't strong enough for solid feed digestion. I really don't recommend it. |

PecAbby: Good afternoon Moms n Dads
I am a ftm. My dear son is 4months old. I noticed he has reduced the way he eats... He would feed for a short while and then remove his mouth. Its usually a struggle to get him back to the breast... He used to cry a lot but after 2months...hardly cries even if he is hungry or taking immunization injections...not even when he rolled down from our bed...I met him on the floor smiling at me. He just likes to laugh and babble a lot with lots of gestures... Its usually a fight to get him to suck... Its surprising cos He was once a foodie...his birth weight was 4kg and he had been adding weight ever since but... at 10weeks immunization he weighed 6.4kg...and weighed 6.2kg at 14weeks immunization... Because that was when the reluctancy to eat started. I don't really know what to do...it's totally draining. He is exclusively breastfed and he is now four months yet he will keep laughing and SUCKING HIS THUMB ALL DAY... if u don't force him to suck breast. I am very worried!!!
Please help me!!!
Secondly...he had caput at birth... The softness has hardened but the swelling is still there even at 4months. Will the swelling still go down to rhyme with the shape of his head??
Cc. Nameflow, zaynie, liftedhands, giddyperson and sabi mamas and papas The young man seems to be having fun.. Lol. I personally believe that you should try substituting his thumb with your nipple. In other words, when you see him sucking his thumb allow him breastfeed. Also consider timed feeding even though as much as he would take. Possibly every 3 hours... Regarding caput what I believe he has is Cephahematoma, it will get absorbed and dissolve gradually most definitely before he's one since it is already becoming hard. |

ijeije123: Thanks. But it makes her poops once she feeds. I'm worried her weight would reduce cos of it. She also cries from stomach pain. Wat do we do. I'm a ftm. tnx what was your baby birth weight ? Initially for the first few days.. All babies weight drop before gradually picking up again. That's entirely normal. The gut(digestive system) of your baby needs what I'd call booting time to become familiar with milk diet and also for full development of its digestive enzymes.. So initially motility is increased before it gradually reduces from many times a day to probably once in 3 days.. How's his poop like still? Color and consistency... If it's extremely watery which I doubt then you should see a pediatrician in person but if it looks like the egusi soup then I think you should calm your nerve a little |

ijeije123: Hi all, I just joined this group. My baby is ten days old and has open head in the middle of her head. She poos immediately she is breastfed. She has done this six times today. I don't know if there is any remedy for it or do we just wait it out? PS- My mom rubs palm kernel oil mixed with silver bird on it daily. the poo is normal but by open head what do you mean? Are you referring to the soft part on the top of the head of your child.. It's called a fontanelle. They are actually two of them one in front and another at the back. They are there for a purpose one of which is to allow for proper growth of the brain of a child. There's nothing you can do about it to make it close sooner because there is a programmed time for it to close which is mostly between 9 and 2 years. The one at the back closes between 1 to 2 months.. Be mindful of what you apply. That's the brain of your child directly under. Oh! And if it looks depressed inside rather than just slightly it could mean your child isn't getting enough fluid, you should increase your feeding rate to improve hydration . |

Bomgirl: I'm actually scared of implants. Not cos I've had any experience with them, just fear. lol.. It's really not as bad as you fear.. Imagine being stuck with a needle 12 times in 3 years and just have an implant once and forget it's there. The entire process takes less than 5 minutes. Give it a thought.. Once for 3-5 years on 12 injections in 3 years. Another angle.. The failure rate for injectables are higher than implants. |

Limahgirl: Thank you very much. My baby is 7 weeks. Yes I do express for her and she she takes 90 ml at once before but now she struggles to take 30ml and suckling breast is worst because she will only suck for 5 min maximum. Aside this, no fever, no vomiting and unusual stooling. Her birth weight was 3kg and she's now 4kg so I think she's gaining weight.I may have to go to the hospital on Thursday if it continues like this though. Thank you. check the nostrils? Any nasal discharge or stuffiness. Most times children would favor breathing to eating in the case of nasal children congestion. I hope you don't force feed. The best thing would be to go to the hospital as I can't possibly examine your child from here. If the doctor say the coast is clear... Try reducing the amount of food she takes but increase the frequency and then gradually increase... For example since she tolerated 30 mls feed 30-40 mls every 2 hours then increase by 10 mls every day or two until she's back to her normal dose.. But if she needs more food while doing this pls give. Keep us posted |

Limahgirl: Good evening all. I noticed of recent that my baby is not feeding well. Whenever she's hungry and I put her to breast, she will suck for like two minutes or highest five minutes and comes off the breast. When I give her again, she won't take it or if she does she will repeat the same thing. I see milk spilling out when she comes off the breast so it's not that I'm not lactating. Please has anyone experienced this before? What can I do? how old is your child and how often do you feed in a day? usually for babies that are not feeding properly.. it could be they are not getting enough milk while breastfeeding usually this happens for new babies so they tend to suck and rest. believe it or not sucking is exhausting and the possible side effect is poor weight gain despite being hail and hearty this is a possible position. make a habit of expressing, that way you are sure your baby feeds properly and later you can top up by putting to breast. he sucks what he can and sleeps off. some mothers say babies end up prefer taking expressed milk rather than breast milk because they do less work sucking the milk out but then that isnt always the case. |

Bisade44: Glad to finally join this group. A FTM. I’m lactating but I have big areola and flat round nipples which my baby is finding difficult to latch. What’s the solution please? I don’t want to rely entirely on breast pump the fastest way to grow those nipples out is through continous use of breastpump. the suction pressure gets them to increase in size over time , your subsequebt babies would have it easier. a crude method used in some hospitals include sucking the nipple out with a syringe , it works with the same principle as the breastpump but more painful...i think. so continue with the breast pump. two birds ...one stone. |

Tomblessings: Good evening everyone.. Please help I need help with my DD, she's so scared and I don't know why. Each time I remove her cloth to bath her she'll be scared and start crying. Who has experienced this and what can I do? If your new baby is startled by a loud noise, a sudden movement, or feels like they’re falling, they might respond in a particular way. They might suddenly extend their arms and legs, arch their back, and then curl everything in again. Your baby may or may not cry when they do this. This is an involuntary startle response called the Moro reflex. Your baby does this reflexively in response to being startled. It’s something that newborn babies do and then stop doing within a couple of months |
