madridguy: People like Ilhan Omar wouldn't be a lawmaker in Minnesota if the USA government and other western power didn't plan the removal of Siad Barre's government in Somalia.
Your action led Somalia into civil war and they have to seek for refugee and today they're now taking what belongs to Americans.
In 50 years to come, the Europe will see the real result of what they're causing today.
erniok2: See talk and stewpid history distortion. Barre that was fighting his own people and was responsible for isaaq massacre. If there was anyone that removed him, it was the soviets as he was no longer their friend.
Barre was never the friend of the Soviets.
America sponsored Siad Barre and kept him in power against the wishes of his people. Barre was an American puppet.
The Soviet Union sponsored Mengistu and kept him in power against the wishes of his people.
It was America/Barre/Somalia vs Soviet Union/Mengistu/Ethiopia.
The Cold War ended, America stopped sponsoring Barre and the Soviet Union stopped sponsoring Mengistu and both governments collapsed.
naptu2: Here's a little bit of the intrigues that I referred to in that post.
Video 1. General Siad Barre, President of Somalia, warns the Soviet Union.
Video 3. Head of state of Ethiopia, Colonel Mengistu Haile Mariam, is welcomed to the Soviet Union by Soviet president and leader of the Communist Party, Leonid Brezhnev.
naptu2: Major General Mohammed Siad Barre became the president of Somalia after a military coup in 1969. The US Government supported his government in the late 1970s and 1980s because they saw it as a counterweight to the communist government in Ethiopia (which was backed by the Soviet Union).
Unfortunately Siad Barre's government became increasingly dictatorial, tyrannical and oppressive in the 1980s. He suspected that other ethnic groups were plotting against him so he starved them and denied them water so that they would die of thirst. He also killed many members of his own government because he thought that they were plotting a coup against him.
Naturally, many rebel groups sprung up against him. Some of these groups were supported by the communist government in Ethiopia. The Cold War ended in 1990 and the United States stopped supporting Siad Barre, because they didn't need him anymore (the communist government in Ethiopia was also overthrown). The rebels were marching on the capital, Mogadishu, so Siad Barre fled to Lagos.
I often saw Siad Barre and his people driving around Ikoyi in Federal Government (W126) S Class Mercedes Benz in the early 1990s. It made my friend very angry. "This man destroyed his country and fled to Lagos to live in luxury, while his people suffered", my friend said.
Now, Siad Barre was gone, so you'd expect that peace would break out, right? (Ethiopia and Eritrea experienced peace when the dictator, Mengistu Haile Merriam, was chased away). That's not what happened.
naptu2: We often talked about it back then, about Lagos and the violent men that started wars, left the masses of their country to suffer and then fled to peaceful Lagos.
General Mohammed Siad Barre was president of Somalia. Instead of developing their countries, he and Mengistu Haile Mariam of Ethiopia engaged in a stupid proxy war, which was also a proxy war for the United States and the Soviet Union. Basically, Somalia sponsored and supported Ethiopian rebels that were attacking the Ethiopian Government (of Mengistu) and Ethiopia sponsored and supported Somali rebels that were attacking the Somali Government. Somalia was also being sponsored and supported by the USA, while Ethiopia was being sponsored and supported by the Soviet Union.
Well things came to a head in 1990. The Somali rebels entered the capital and Siad Barre fled to Lagos. (In 1991 the Ethiopian rebels also entered the Ethiopian capital and Mengistu fled to Zimbabwe).
After Barre left, the rebels decided to kill each other and Somalia has not known peace since then.
Meanwhile, the man that started it all, Siad Barre, was living in luxury in Ikoyi. He and his entourage had access to Federal Government W126 S Class cars and were living it up while their people back home were suffering and dying. They are still suffering and dying 31 years later.
Prince Yormie Johnson helped Charles Taylor to start his civil war in Liberia. Then he fell out with Taylor and set up his own rebel group (INPFL). They cut of Samuel Doe's ear and forced him to eat it before killing him.
Anyway, when the heat became too much, Yormie Johnson fled to Lagos and declared that he had become a born again Christian. The killer had become a pastor in peaceful Lagos. In fact, he famously reconciled with Doe's son at TB Joshua's church.
When the heat reduced in Liberia, Yormie Johnson went back there and became a politician. He fled to Nigeria again when trouble started a second time. He later returned and I believe that he is a member of their National Assembly or something like that.
It appears that Idi Amin was a step too far. He came to Lagos, but the Federal Government refused to even allow him get off the plane. He had to return to Saudi Arabia.

24 Federal Tertiary Institutions Powered By Solar Energy – Minister
The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, says 24 federal institutions have been powered by solar energy under the “Energising Education Project” of President Bola Tinubu’s Administration.
Alausa, who disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja at the Collaboration Agreement Signing Ceremony with the vice chancellors of beneficiary institutions, added that eight more universities have signed collaboration agreements to join the fourth phase of the project.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that, before the signing ceremony, the minister undertook an inspection tour of the solar-powered facility at the University of Abuja, now Yakubu Gowon University.
Alausa, who described the project as a “new day for Nigeria”, hailed the transformative initiative under Tinubu, aimed at providing uninterrupted power supply to Nigeria’s federal tertiary institutions. He said the projects had wide-reaching benefits for education and the economy.
According to him, the University of Abuja, which now boasts a solar farm comprising 6,000 photovoltaic panels, is generating approximately 3.3 megawatts of electricity daily, enough to power the campus round the clock.
“This project brings continuous, 24-hour electricity to our institutions. It allows for increased academic activity, powers laboratories and libraries throughout the day and night, and improves living and learning conditions for both students and faculty,” he said.
The minister emphasised the economic ripple effect of the initiative, explaining how reliable electricity stimulates business within campuses. “Any campus is a community by itself. With constant power supply, you unleash high economic activity,” he said.
The minister explained that the project was backed by the Renewable Infrastructure Fund established by Tinubu to support infrastructure development across sectors.
He, therefore, challenged vice chancellors of universities on innovative and creative ways of sustaining the project, noting that by 2027, every tertiary institution would have renewable energy generation.
On his part, the Managing Director, Rural Electrification Agency, Abba Aliyu, said that phases 1, 2, and 3 of the project have so far impacted over 600,000 students and 50,000 academic staff. Aliyu said that the project had also generated over 100 megawatts of electricity to power university campuses and teaching hospitals.
He said the initiative, implemented through multiple phases, had already brought solar mini-grid infrastructure to 24 federal universities across the country.
“What you are seeing here is one of our interventions in the education sector, and the aim is to ensure that universities have a sustainable and affordable electricity supply,” he said
In addition to educational institutions, he said the Universal Public Health Project, part of phase 2, had successfully delivered clean energy to two universities and two teaching hospitals.
He added that Phase 3, which includes the electrification of eight more universities and one additional teaching hospital, is near completion and set to be commissioned in the coming two months.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the eight new beneficiary institutions include Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; University of Nigeria, Nsukka; and Federal University, Wukari, Taraba State.
Others are Federal University Dutse, University of Benin, University of Ibadan, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and University of Lagos.
naptu2: I have so many pending posts and threads right now! I think I can rush through the latest before it drags on.
This is from 3 or 4 days ago. I won't post any details (so that it doesn't drag on), I'll explain and leave you to find the details yourself.
There's this thing that has been trending in the past few days and luckily it's an issue that I have been studying since 1990 (I won't tell you why I started studying it in 1990).
The trend goes like this:
10 billion naira solar power system for the Aso Rock Villa, no solar power for LUTH, UCH, etc
That statement ⬆️ is wrong.
Firstly, the Buhari Administration started a series of "Energising" programmes. For example, as part of their "Energising Economies" programme, they set up solar powered electricity systems at Ariaria Market in Aba, Sura Market in Lagos and other markets across the country.
As part of their "Energising Education Programme" (EEP) they have set up solar power systems at universities and teaching hospitals across the country. The Tinubu Administration is continuing the programme.
Thirdly, due to the recent increase in electricity tariffs, LUTH has also used its internally generated revenue to set up solar power systems in more blocks of the hospital.
There are actually two institutions that people refer to as LUTH. These are:
1) Lagos University Teching Hospital (LUTH). This is a teaching hospital and, since 1990, they have usually had constant power supply. This is the institution that I was referring to above.
2) College of Medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL). This is a school and students of the school get practical experience from LUTH.
LUTH had constant and uninterrupted power supply in 1990, but some students were complaining that CMUL had started experiencing blackouts.
Some alumni of CMUL have donated solar power systems to the school, but these are used to power the library, reading rooms and classrooms, not the hostels.
Open Letter to the President of the United States and His Administration
As Mayor of Kommune Kujalleq – the region of Greenland where the majority of the country’s rare earth elements and strategic minerals are located – I feel a clear responsibility to speak plainly and without reservation.
Greenland’s subsoil is not for sale through political pressure, dismissive rhetoric, or a lack of respect. Period.
The interest shown by you and your administration in Greenland’s resources carries obligations – not only legal, but moral and political. When Greenland, our institutions, our allies, and our people are spoken of with disregard, trust is eroded. And without trust, there is no access. Not a single gram.
As mayor, I will never accept that the citizens of my municipality should feel unsafe or uncertain about what is taking place in their own backyard – politically, economically, or in terms of security. Our land and our communities are not pieces on a great-power chessboard.
Greenland has some of the strongest and most responsible mineral resource legislation in the Nordic region. These laws exist to protect people, nature, and future generations. They will be enforced in full – regardless of who seeks to operate in Greenland, and regardless of the size or power of the nation involved. They are not subject to negotiation.
The Greenlandic people hold authority over their land and their resources. And if there is one thing your administration currently lacks in this matter, it is respect: respect for our democracy, respect for our legislation, respect for our allies, and respect for our people.
Jobs and promises of increased revenue can never be used as currency to bypass the law or the will of the people. If mining activities are not carried out in full compliance with Greenlandic law and with genuine respect for the population, there will be no mining. It is that simple.
Not a single gram of Greenland’s minerals will be extracted without order, respect, and responsibility.
Sincerely,
Malene Vahl Rasmussen Mayor – Kommune Kujalleq – Greenland
This is part of the "energising" projects that the Buhari Administration began and the Tinubu Administration is continuing.
The Energising Education programme is being run by the National Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and their goal is to provide cheap, clean and renewable energy to universities and teaching hospitals.
The Energising Economies programme is designed to provide cheap, clean and renewable energy to markets and shopping centers across Nigeria.

Breaking News: “I have 14 grandchildren, so what will adding one more (Anu) take from me? Is it that I won’t be able to cater for her or what?” - Davido’s Billionaire dad comes out for the first time ever to address the public about the DNA allegations pic.twitter.com/eQssUlL3bC
“Anu's aunt reached out to me and revealed that Kemi Olunloyo is the one running Anu's account on Instagram, If science had revealed that the little girl was my granddaughter, I would gladly accept her”
Davido’s Father Breaks Silence, Says 0.00% DNA Test Result Clears Son Of Paternity Claims
Dr Adedeji Adeleke says DNA test result of 0.00% disproves paternity claims against Davido, alleges impersonation behind renewed social media accusations.
The renewed paternity controversy involving Afrobeats star Davido and a young girl identified as Anu has again drawn national attention, following a recent social media appeal by the teenager asking the singer to submit to another DNA test. The latest development comes on the heels of an earlier report by ARISE NEWS in which Davido firmly rejected the fresh request, stating that he had already undergone five DNA tests over the years, all of which returned negative results.
According to the Afrobeats star, three tests were arranged by him, while two were conducted at facilities chosen by the other party, with all confirming he is not the biological father. Behind that public response lies a longer and more complex history, now detailed by Davido’s father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, who provided a comprehensive account of how the matter began and how it has been handled for over a decade.
The buusiness mogul speaking to the press at his Lagos residence on Wednesday, explained that the issue first emerged in 2014 when he received a formal letter alleging that Davido had impregnated a woman and abandoned the child. He said he immediately intervened as head of the family and initiated a DNA testing process without prejudice. Samples were taken from Davido, his cousin Bayo Adeleke, popularly known as B Red, and the child at a reputable hospital, with analysis conducted abroad to ensure credibility.
The results of the first test he said, showed a 0.00% probability of paternity. Despite this, Dr. Adeleke said he did not dismiss the matter outright and offered to conduct additional confirmatory tests at his own expense, including covering accommodation and logistics for the child’s family in Lagos. However, the follow-up tests were not completed after the initial findings. Over the years, the issue resurfaced intermittently on social media, often accompanied by renewed allegations and emotional appeals. According to Dr. Adeleke, the cycle intensified recently when Anu made a public plea online, prompting Davido’s response that reignited the debate.
Addressing the latest claims, Dr. Adeleke revealed that the child’s aunt, based in Abuja, contacted him directly to clarify that neither she nor the child’s mother was responsible for the circulating social media posts. He said the aunt alleged that the accounts pushing the narrative were impersonated and that the family had severed ties with those behind them.
Dr. Adeleke stated that he possesses documented message exchanges with the aunt supporting this claim and further alleged that Kemi Olunloyo was responsible for impersonating the pages used to circulate the renewed allegations.
He added that he also has documentary evidence of all DNA tests conducted over the years, including those referenced by Davido, all confirming a 0.00% probability of paternity.
Dr. Adeleke stressed that the family’s actions were guided by responsibility, transparency and reliance on verifiable evidence, noting that if science had proven Davido to be the father, the child would have been accepted without hesitation.
He concluded by warning that continued circulation of what he described as false claims, impersonation and misinformation could attract legal action, as the family seeks final closure on a matter he said has already been conclusively settled by science.
