Nigel Farage is Donald Trump's friend and leader of Reform UK. He usually agrees with everything that Trump does (they are both extreme right wing).

Sir Ed Davey is the leader of the Liberal Democrats.

Nigel Farage MP @Nigel_Farage

We don’t always agree with the US government and in this case we certainly don’t. These tariffs will hurt us.

If Greenland is vulnerable to malign influences, then have another look at Diego Garcia.

Ed Davey @EdwardDavey

Trump is targeting us for standing with our allies, and the best you can do is ‘we’ll agree to disagree’?

Pathetic. You can always count on Farage to bootlick for Trump rather than stand up for Britain.

The whole plan is not to buy Greenland but to force negotiation for having a base there. Usually international military bases are for Continental control of resources be it humans or rear earth. Trump wants to make record as the President who did what others couldn't do

Iamzik:
Chief try to see beyond your emotions for once.

China and Russia are already have military presence in Greenland which on the border of the united states. If you were the president will you just smile and fold your arms?
China and Russia have no military presence on Greenland. The United States has military bases on Greenland and Denmark and Greenland say they are happy for them to have more bases, but no change in sovereignity.

Canada has been making deals with China even before Trump came to office, nothing new.
US have been trying to purchase Greenland since Truman in 1800. It's nothing new.

Kemi Badenoch @KemiBadenoch

A terrible idea. President Trump is completely wrong to announce tariffs on the UK over Greenland. People in both UK and US will face higher costs.

These tariffs will be yet another burden for businesses across our country. The sovereignty of Greenland should only be decided by the people of Greenland.

On this, I agree with Keir Starmer.

Keir Starmer @Keir_Starmer

Our position on Greenland is very clear – it is part of the Kingdom of Denmark and its future is a matter for the Greenlanders and the Danes.

We have also made clear that Arctic Security matters for the whole of NATO and allies should all do more together to address the threat from Russia across different parts of the Arctic.

Applying tariffs on allies for pursuing the collective security of NATO allies is completely wrong. We will of course be pursuing this directly with the US administration.

Emmanuel Macron @EmmanuelMacron

France is committed to the sovereignty and independence of nations, in Europe and elsewhere. This guides our choices. It underpins our commitment to the United Nations and to its Charter.

It is on this basis that we support, and will continue to support Ukraine and that we have built a coalition of the willing for a robust and lasting peace, to defend these principles and our security.

It is also on this basis that we decided to take part in the exercise organized by Denmark in Greenland. We fully assume this decision, because security in the Arctic and at the outer edges of our Europe is at stake.

No intimidation or threat will influence us—neither in Ukraine, nor in Greenland, nor anywhere else in the world when we are confronted with such situations.

Tariff threats are unacceptable and have no place in this context. Europeans will respond in a united and coordinated manner should they be confirmed. We will ensure that European sovereignty is upheld.

It is in this spirit that I will engage with our European partners.

Ursula von der Leyen @vonderleyen

Territorial integrity and sovereignty are fundamental principles of international law.

They are essential for Europe and for the international community as a whole.

We have consistently underlined our shared transatlantic interest in peace and security in the Arctic, including through NATO.

The pre-coordinated Danish exercise, conducted with allies, responds to the need to strengthen Arctic security and poses no threat to anyone.

The EU stands in full solidarity with Denmark and the people of Greenland. Dialogue remains essential, and we are committed to building on the process begun already last week between the Kingdom of Denmark and the US.

Tariffs would undermine transatlantic relations and risk a dangerous downward spiral. Europe will remain united, coordinated, and committed to upholding its sovereignty.

Trolls want my attention, so some of them have come to this thread to say that there are no cameras, how come they are not everywhere, there are no traffic laws in Lagos, etc.

They really expect me to respond.

Anyone that lives in Lagos has seen the cameras before (they are everywhere), anyone that lives in Lagos knows what happens if you drive against traffic, there are countless threads and posts by members of the public about these things, so why do I need to respond to trolls?

We get it before is not a property. You can see from this thread that reasonable Nigerians have not experienced radar gun, mounted camera or lBreathalyzer

Things that majority of people are not aware of is more like we never have them before
Ah! Ah!

What's the argument about?

I created a thread about someone that got fined by the Lagos speed camera. You came to the thread and said Lagos is just catching up, that Ghana had it ten years ago when you went there. You then described a radar gun.

I simply showed that Nigeria has been using radar guns since the 1990s and is still using them.

What's the argument again?

2) Radar guns:

After creation in 1988, the FRSC imposed a speed limit of 100 kmph on Nigerian highways. FRSC officials began using radar guns to detect if a vehicle was exceeding the speed limit. The radar gun emits radio waves and uses the doppler effect to calculate the speed of the vehicle. Here is a 2012 Nairaland thread about FRSC's use of radar guns.

FRSC Acquires Equipment To Check Over-Speeding

Sunofgod:
Eket (Akwa Ibom) – Mr Yakubu Attah, Zonal Commanding Officer of the FRSC Zone 6 Command of the commission said on Monday that the commission had acquired an equipment to check over-speeding by drivers.

Attah, an Assistant Corps Marshal in charge of Zone 6 in Port Harcourt, said in an interview in Eket that the commission was also poised to check over-loading.

Attah disclosed that the commission recently took delivery of hand-held radar guns to monitor motorists who drove beyond speed limits.

”Over-speeding and over-loading are of serious concern to the FRSC.

”Recently, the Corps Marshal and Chief Executive, Mr Osita Chidoka, procured some hand-held radar guns to clamp down on over-speeding drivers.

“So over-speeding will soon be a thing of the past, all we need to do with the new drivers’ licence is to take your number and arrest you on the point of renewing your vehicle papers.

“So you may over-speed but you are not far from us, ” he said.

On the recommendation that the FRSC should be scrapped or merged with the police, Attah said that such calls would not be justified, in view of the strategic nature of the commission on safety of commuters on the nation’s roads.

“It is not justifiable because FRSC has come a long way, FRSC is a household name, above all, the FRSC is the lead agency in terms of road safety administration and management.

“It is not justifiable at all, I am of the view that the government should have a re-think, ” he said.

The Zonal Commanding Officer said that he was committed to boosting the morale of the commission’s officers and men as a way of improving their productivity.

He said that Chidoka appreciated the sacrifices being made by the commission’s officers in discharging their duties. (NAN)

Radar gun but your thread is about mounted camera.

I didn't know the name as radar gun that's why I used hand speed meter

Also, I never experienced such in Nigeria before going to Ghana, if it had existed in Nigeria roads, I would have come across it. So to me, they started it before us. What's the purpose of having something we are not using
Calm down and read every post on the first page. Everything that you are talking about has been explained there.

Boss, I didn't want to derail the thread that's why I initially ignored the mentioning.

My comments you are referring to, I made use of the word hand speed meter not mounted camera.

Also, that was even outskirts of major Accra town as we were traveling to Aflao, Togo. Like 6 hours journey
Read the thread carefully, what you are referring to is called radar gun. It's the second item that I discussed.

GhostWisperer:
why are all your threads primarily about you and your inflated ego and secondarily about lies, half-truths and pure propaganda.

Nigeria is still backwards and has no general technology governing traffick. That Lagos or Abuja uses it sparingly doesn't make it true.

These equipments were bought for corruption and contracts but was never deployed nationwide or even used generally in Abuja or Lagos, let alone other cities in Nigeria.

Stop with the half-truths and complete lies
Here is entertainment! 🤣

I won't stop, what will you do about it?

All you can do is to continue to try and entertain me and elongate my threads.
TravelRe: The Use Of Technology In Regulating Traffic Law Violations In Nigeria by naptu2(op):
Obviously this list is not exhaustive, there are very many other tools that traffic officers use to manage traffic and detect law breakers.
