Chief Don Etiebet died on July 21, 2015.
But he appeared as number 77 on APC Presidential Campaign Council list that was released.

Chief Donald Dick Etiebet (Don Etiebet) was a senator from 1979 till 1983. He was elected governor of Cross River State and was sworn in on October 1st, 1983. He was removed from office due to the December 31st, 1983 coup. Chief Donald Etiebet died in 2015.

Chief Donatus Obot Etiebet (Don Etiebet) is the brother of Chief Donald Etiebet. Chief Donatus Etiebet was the minister of petroleum resources from 1994-1995. He is the owner of Etiebet's Place (where Channels Television initially had their studios). Chief Donatus Etiebet is alive.

The All Progressives Congress, APC and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council have admitted error in announcing former Governor of Enugu State, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani as a member of the council.

The person, who should have been listed is former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, a member of the council and one of the Spokesmen, Mr Bayo Onanuga, clarified in a chat with Vanguard

Senator Chimaroke Nnamani is a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain, Senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District and a supporter of PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

The senator’s name was number 350 on the 422-member campaign council and listed as a member of the local government directorate.

Senator Chimaroke Nnamani had last month described the presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a strong politician but said he would vote for his own party’s candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Lamenting the mix-up, Mr. Onanuga said the mistake could have arisen from the fact that Chimaroke shares a surname with Ken is also a prominent politician from Enugu.

“It is an error. It should be Ken Nnamani,” he said.

Before the clarification, an aide to Senator Chimaroke Nnamani said the announcement should be ignored.

“Chimaroke is a PDP Senator. He has a PDP re-election ticket. How can he be in Tinubu’s campaign council? Please, ignore it “

ABSENCE OF VICE-PRESIDENT YEMI OSINBAJO FROM CAMPAIGN COUNCIL LIST NO CAUSE FOR CONCERN


Our attention has been drawn to some stories making the rounds that there may be something amiss within the family of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the name of our own revered and respected Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, is not included in the list of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council. Nothing can be farther from the facts.

For the avoidance of doubt, President Muhammadu Buhari , GCFR, is the Chairman of the Campaign Council. As a result, Mr. President has SPECIFICALLY directed that the Vice-President and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha should be left out of the Campaign Council to concentrate on the governance of the country and administration of Government.

As a responsible Party and Government, all the key functionaries of government cannot abandon their positions for electioneering campaigns. The APC has the mandate of the Nigerian people to administer the country on their behalf at least till May, 29, 2023, and this we intend to do with all sense of responsibility.

Our candidates and the leadership of the APC have also indicated that the list is not sacrosanct as there may be periodic review of it as circumstances dictate.

We will not toe the path of those who governed the country in an irresponsible manner before us and our Party is not in total disarray like those who wish to ‘rescue’ the country, but cannot simply manage their own internal affairs.
