Labour Party Chairman in Lagos working for Tinubu, Peter Obi movement alleges
September 18, 2022
A support group of Labour Party, LP and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi has accused the chairman of the party in Lagos state, Kayode Salako of working against the party in the state.
The Obi support group made the allegation in a statement via its Twitter handle on Saturday.
The group, which identifies as Peter Obi Grassroots Mobilization 2023 Movement alleged that Salako is working for the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in Lagos State.
It said Salako must be rooted out of Labour Party.
“Labour Party Chairman in Lagos Kayode Salako is working for Tinubu. We must root him out of the party,” the group said.
Recall that Lagos Chapter of the Labour Party elected Salako, husband of Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola, as the new party chairman in the state in July 2022.
A copy of letter confirming his appointment was sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Meanwhile, Salako has said his utmost goal for running the Labour Party in Lagos, is to win elections. “If I can’t win elections, then it is not worth it,” he said.
Salako, during a meeting with representatives of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) and other political organisations in Lagos, Salako disclosed that the essence of running a political party is to win elections.
He said, “If a political party is existing, but can’t win elections, it won’t only be called an unserious party. He told the gathering my mission as the new chairman of the LP in Lagos, is to coordinate the party to win elections.
”The utmost goal of the executives for the 2023 general elections in Nigeria, is to run the party well and make sure it becomes the next ruling party in Lagos.
“I do not believe in impossibilities. It is possible and it is doable! The divine grace of God that is upon the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Gregory OBI, right now can make it happen.
“My utmost goal for running the LP in Lagos, is to win elections. If I can’t win elections, then it is not worth it.”
He added, “I want my name to be written in gold in the book of Nigeria’s history, as that son of a nobody, who came, ruled his party well, and for about the first time, he won elections in Lagos State.
“My mission is to win elections for my party. That is the place, where my fulfilment will ever lie as the chairman of the Labour Party in the state,” added. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2022/09/labour-party-chairman-in-lagos-working-for-tinubu-peter-obi-movement-alleges/

Two women were allegedly sexually assaulted in the queue to attend the Queen's lying-in-state, a court heard.
Adio Adeshine is accused of exposing himself and pushing into the mourners from behind as they waited in line at Victoria Tower Gardens on Wednesday.
He is charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of breaching a sexual harm prevention order.
The 19-year-old appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday.
Outlining the allegations, prosecutor Alex Adowale, said: "The defendant was part of the queue to see the resting in state of Queen Elizabeth II."
His alleged victims are said to have been among the thousands of people who have been lining the banks of the River Thames to view the Queen's coffin.
The court heard the first complainant allegedly noticed Mr Adeshine because she had not previously seen him, despite having waited in the queue with the same people for hours.
She is said to have noticed him getting closer to her before feeling something touching her back, then turned to see he had exposed himself.
The woman later allegedly saw Mr Adeshine acting in a similar way towards another woman, before security were alerted and police called.
He is said to have thrown his phone into the River Thames before entering the water himself.
But the court heard Mr Adeshine was arrested shortly after coming out of the river.
Deputy Chief Magistrate refused to grant Mr Adeshine bail, remanding him in custody ahead of his next appearance at Southwark Crown Court on 14 October. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-62932781?

Crime › Re: Lagos Police Arrest 2 Over Alleged Rape Of Lady. by naptu2(op): 12:51am On Sep 17, 2022 |
Two things here. 1) On a closer look, the officers observed that the lady was unconscious and not responding to police instructions. It seems like a lot of people are missing that part of the quote. An unconscious person cannot give consent. 2) Their faces were blurred because they have not been convicted by a court and therefore they are presumed to be innocent until convicted by a court. Besides, the Lagos House of Assembly has passed a law that bans the police from parading suspects before the media. |
