Baxilexi has done nothing for people suffering from Boko Haram attacks, but he wants to lecture someone that is doing something, is that not funny??

Besides, his list is absolute nonsense. Why? Because Dangote has already done things in that list.

It's what I call mouth management. It's very easy to dictate that someone should do this or that thing (talking is easy), but can the person that is dictating actually get off his backside and do something?

When you show him that Dangote has done the things in his list, then he'll come up with a new list (he'll never be satisfied, he'll always have a new list), because talking is easier than doing.

Baxilexi:
I see where the problem is, you equate handout philanthropy to championing a cause.

Now let me educate you.
Championing a cause is transformative and ensure the future is better for everyone. He donated houses in his village I guess that makes Nigeria a better place.

Here’s what leading looks like;
https://kinghamadaward.com/apply/
https://www.swfinstitute.org/fund-rankings/healthcare-foundation
https://srsi.kaust.edu.sa/

How about putting a library in each region?
Or building Dangote trauma centers in at least 3 regions instead of donating beds?
How about partnering with the university of Maiduguri and fund their engineering/medical research department making it world class.
How about the Dangote political institute where young leaders are trained on how to manage government roles in view of preparing the next generation to lead the country better.

Doling out funds for PR is good for the camera but doesn’t foster real change. Spot the difference in the links above.

PS., there were a lot of pledges in your response. You should follow through on those.
The only thing that is worse than ignorance is arrogant ignorance.

A prime example is your statement, "He donated houses in his village".

PEOPLE OF GOD, WHEN DID BORNO BECOME DANGOTE'S VILLAGE?

Someone who has done nothing and knows nothing wants to lecture people that know more and have done something, isn't that funny??

I wanted to educate you, but the problem you have is not just ignorance, it's also the fact that you are unteachable.

Therefore, I won't waste my time.

Don't bother to reply, I won't read it.

Goodbye. smiley

Bill Gates said that he and Aliko would be moving around Lagos, where the traffic jams give you a lot of time to talk and he'll be showing Aliko (from his charts) that, for example, Sokoto has a pretty low vaccination rate and Aliko would bring out his phone and call the governor. He seemed to know everybody in Nigeria.

Mr Gates said that, whereas he is shy and would prefer to send an email, Aliko would easily bring out his phone to call anyone they needed to call.

Dangote donates N2 billion all inclusive 200 housing units to Boko Haram victims

by Press Release June 18, 2018

Barley two weeks after donating 150 cars to the Nigeria Police, in yet another philanthropic gesture, the Aliko Dangote Foundation Monday, launched the Dangote village built for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Maiduguri, Borno State capital.

The Dangote village in Maiduguri is a self sufficient set of 200 housing units worth N2 billion, with school, hospital, irrigation farms and poultry farms among others, to enable the occupants eke livelyhood. Dangote also gave each of the beneficiaries N100,000 to start a new life.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, chairman of the Aliko Dangote Foundation, Aliko Dangote said about N7 billion has been donated to support displaced persons affected by the Boko Haram crisis in the North-east.

Aside the N100,000 to start a new life, Dangote also pledged that the Foundation will take care of teachers’ emolument for five years and as well share in the burden of the ongoing educational revolution launched by the state governor.

Mr Dangote commended the governor, Kashim Shettima, saying he is able to run the state efficiently and pay salaries despite the security challenges.

A visibly elated Mr Shettima said the intervention was unprecedented and gargantuan by a single company, describing the Aliko Dangote Foundation as the fourth arm of government in the state.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Mr Shettima reminded that the Dangote Group is the single largest employer of labour outside government in Nigeria.

“In every clime and in every dispensation, there are three layers of governments: the executive, the legislature and the judiciary. I dear to add that the fourth layer in Borno State is the Aliko Dangote Foundation. For the past seven years the Foundation has been consistent and hearkening to the yearnings and aspirations of people of the state,” the governor said.

He said the Dangote Village provided by the Foundation, though very massive, is a ‘tip of the iceberg’ compared to what the Foundation has done to support humanitarian relief in the troubled region.

“When Aliko Dangote came in 2016, he quickly pledged N2billion. We requested that half of the money should be used to supplying building materials and lo and behold within the span of two weeks all the materials were ready,” he added.

He said it was the support from the Foundation that enabled most of the displaced and malnourished victims of Boko Haram insurgency to survive.
According to the governor, it was crucial to acknowledge the generosity of Aliko Dangote, adding that as far as he was concerned Mr. Dangote is the world’s biggest philanthropist.

He revealed that most of the beneficiaries are widows and children.
“We call it Dangote village because it is a self-sustaining community with their own schools, clinics, mosques and livelihood,” he added.

He thanked all the donors, and added that Borno State is now opened for investors, saying it is more peaceful than Lagos and Abuja.

Speaking also, Baba Umara said 95 per cent of the beneficiaries were widows whose husbands were killed by the Boko Haram terrorists.

Mr Umara, a professor, is the chairman of the distribution committee for the new Dangote village.

He said the criterion for allocating a flat to the beneficiaries is to be a widow and having no fewer than five children.

While commending the president of the Dangote Group, he said the reconstruction effort was now on and that the infrastructural deficit was still huge.

He said the EU, UN and World Bank had estimated that the infrastructural deficit caused by the insurgency in Borno alone was around $6.9 billion.

He expressed optimism that with the kind of support from the likes of Aliko Dangote Foundation, the state will bounce back to normal before the year 2020.

In her remarks, the chairperson of the State Emergency Management Agency,Ya Bawa Kolo, expressed appreciation to the Foundation on behalf of the Internally Displaced Persons.

While commending the Foundation, she assured that only deserving persons are beneficiaries.

Ten beneficiaries were selected for symbolic presentation of certificates of occupancy.

Speaking, Managing Director/CEO of Aliko Dangote Foundation, Zouera Youssoufou, said the foundation would not rest on its oars to support the victims of insurgency.

Ms Youssoufou said during Ramadan food items were distributed to the IDPs. These include rice, sugar, salt, spaghetti, semolina, wheat meal, maize and millet.

She said the philanthropic exercise was meant to complement the effort of both the state and the federal government.

“We are supporting government reconstruction and rehabilitation effort,” she said.

Hajara Ibrahim, 26, a widow, who is also one of the beneficiaries, commended Mr. Dangote, adding that since her husband, Sani Abubakar, was killed a year ago by the Boko Haram terrorists, it has been very difficult to cater for the needs of her three children and six orphans.

Another beneficiary, Yagana MAdamu, 39, said the new village provided by Dangote will help her and her seven children start life again.

The husbands of the two women were both members of the Multi National Joint Task Force(MJTF).

After the ceremony, the governor, Mr. Dangote and their entourage toured the 200 housing units to assess the facilities.

Dangote donates $10m to families affected by Boko Haram

13/08/2024

Nigerian business magnate, Aliko Dangote has donated 10 million dollars to help families affected by the insurgency waged by Nigeria’s Islamist militant group, Boko Haram.

Dangote, Africa’s richest man with an estimated wealth of $17 billion announced the donation when he visited camps in Borno state with the governor Kashim Shettima.

The donation is the biggest by any individual towards helping victims of the crisis in the north-east of Nigeria.

Dangote said his main priority was to help deal with malnutrition and hunger in the camps as well as provide education and create job opportunities for people.

The BBC quoted him as saying: “This is not the first time I am coming here and it will not be the last”.

The business mogul said he had previously donated about $6 million to help tackle the humanitarian crisis in the north of the country.

The seven-year insurgency waged by Boko Haram has forced over two million people from their homes, many of whom live in camps.

An estimated 17,000 others have been killed during the insurgency.

The Nigerian government has however urged residents of areas recaptured from the militant group to return home.

Boko Haram is exploiting the high levels of unemployment in the largely under-developed parts of northeast Nigeria to recruit young fighters.

The group which has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State in April 2014 abducted over 270 girls from the Chibok Government Girls Secondary School. Some 219 of the girls still remain in the grips of the militant group.

Dangote To Invest $2.3 Billion In Plan To Fight Boko Haram

May 08, 2014

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has announced plans to invest $2.3 billion in rice and sugar production in Nigeria’s northern region in a bid to combat poverty and insurgency.

Dangote, who was speaking today during a plenary session at the World Economic Forum currently being held in Abuja, Nigeria, said that creating jobs was a crucial way of putting an end to the insurgency that has plagued the northern region in the last few years. Nigeria’s northern region has been a base for terrorist camps, particularly the Boko Haram Islamic sect, which recently claimed responsibility for the kidnap of more than 200 school girls from a Government-owned High school in Chibok, Borno state in Nigeria.

Dangote, who is worth $24.5 billion also announced to the forum that his company would invest $16 billion in Africa over the next four years, with the bulk of the money -$12 billion to be invested in Nigeria.

In a related development, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has promised further investment in Africa. Speaking during a keynote address during the forum earlier today, Kegiang announced that China had set aside $2bn for an African Development Fund and promised delegates that China’s support for Africa was non-conditional, stating that the country would not interfere in the internal affairs of African countries.

The World Economic Forum on Africa is taking place in Abuja, Nigeria from the 7th – 9th of May.

Dangote Group Strengthens Strategic Partnership Zambia Govt

President and Chief Executive of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia. The visit reaffirmed the Group’s commitment to Zambia’s industrial growth and its partnership with Government in advancing national development.

Since its establishment, Dangote Cement Zambia Limited (DCZL) has remained a cornerstone of Zambia’s manufacturing sector, investing over USD 500 million in a 1.5 MTPA integrated cement plant in Ndola with a 30 MW captive power plant and over 400 distribution trucks. The company has produced more than 8 million tonnes of cement, transforming Zambia from a net importer to a major exporter within the SADC region.

Dangote Cement employs over 1,200 people directly and supports more than 5,000 jobs indirectly through its local value chains. All raw materials are sourced locally, reinforcing its commitment to Zambian enterprise.

In sustainability, Dangote has replaced over 30% of fossil fuels with alternative energy sources such as used tyres, municipal waste, and agricultural by-products. The company, certified by ZEMA for safe waste management, has received multiple awards for environmental excellence. Its 30 MW power plant ensures energy self-sufficiency while contributing 8 MW to the national grid.

During the meeting, President Hichilema commended the Group’s contribution to Zambia’s economy and called for deeper collaboration on energy solutions.
Dangote reaffirmed his commitment to supporting energy diversification and climate resilience, pledging to explore solar and thermal power projects to serve Zambia and the DRC.

He also expressed interest in leveraging Zambia’s mineral resources, such as coal, to develop sustainable power solutions for the region.

Aligned with the 8th National Development Plan (2022–2026), these initiatives reinforce the Dangote Group’s position as a strategic partner in Zambia’s manufacturing, energy, and agricultural transformation.

naptu2:
Part 2: The Huge Market

The change in the climate change messaging is similar to that of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Dear diary, I told you that, once upon a time, the messaging around the HIV/AIDS pandemic was simply about scaremongering. The logo for the campaign was a skull and two cross bones, pictures of emaciated people were used in the advert and it was basically a terrible thing. The adverts made you feel like you already had HIV/AIDS, even though you hadn’t done anything to get it, and that you were going to die next minute. They spread fear and panic.

However, in the 1990s, it was realised that this kind of message was counterproductive. It led to stigmatisation of people living with HIV (people felt that they could catch the disease by just being near someone that had it). It made people afraid to get tested. It basically made the fight against the disease more difficult.

Therefore, the message changed. The skull and crossbones logo was replaced with a ribbon, people were encouraged to get tested, practice safe sex and not to stigmatise people living with HIV.

Similarly, the message around the climate change issue has changed over the years.

Beginning

The idea of a global environmental catastrophe did not really gain traction until the mid-1980s. There had domestic calls that something had to be done about issues like the smog in Los Angeles in the 1970s, but there was no global action about a potential climate catastrophe.

The whole world was mobilised to tackle the problem of the hole in the ozone layer in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The ozone layer protected the earth from the harmful rays of the sun, but there was a hole in it in the early 1990s. Scientists warned that this could lead to an increase in skin cancer, sunburn, cataracts and other health issues.

The depletion in the Ozone layer was caused by harmful chemicals like chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) which were contained in propellants in aerosol cans and refrigerants in air conditioners and fridges. These ozone depleting substances were banned and the ozone layer recovered by the mid-1990s.

Negative message & scare mongering
The issue of climate change/global warming also took centre stage around this time. The messaging was about catastrophes. There were stories in the media about this or that place being submerged in water. I remember a prediction that Victoria Island would be swallowed by the ocean by the year 2000. It was said that carbon emissions caused global warming and the chief culprits were emissions from factories, internal combustion engines (cars, planes, trains and ships) and agriculture (belching and farting cows). The message was about drastic measures. We’ve got to stop burning fossil fuels, we’ve got to stop using cars, planes, trains and ships, we’ve got to stop eating meat, we’ve got to stop large scale agriculture.

Backlash

As you can imagine, this led to a backlash. If you close down factories because of emissions, how will people get jobs and earn a living? If you ban cars, trains, planes and ships, how will people move around? If you stop burning fossil fuels (gas, petrol, coal, etc) how will people get electricity? If you stop large scale agriculture, how will farmers earn a living and how will people get food to eat?

So some people in the West believed that global warming and climate change was a plot by eastern countries and developing countries to destroy the economy of the West. Many conspiracy theories about global warming sprang up because of this backlash.

Therefore, politicians, governments and activists realised that they had to change their message if they wanted support in the fight against global warming.

Positive message and opportunities

So instead of messages that made people think that they would lose their livelihood, governments and international organisations now emphasise the fact that there are job opportunities in combating climate change (the green economy). There are jobs in things like recycling, electric vehicles, exploring renewable sources of energy, conservation of water, sustainable agriculture, etc. Then, of course there is the big one – carbon credits.

You see, there was a huge debate about who was responsible for global warming. Developed countries complained that they were having to make huge economic sacrifices to reduce global warming and they wanted developing countries to do more. However, developing countries complained that it was the industrial activities of developed countries over the past 300 years that led to global warming, yet it is the developing countries that would bear the brunt of the problem. A means of satisfying both sides was needed.

In very simple English, carbon offsets and credits are a system in which a government, company or individual whose activities lead to the emission of greenhouse gasses, can pay someone whose activities lead to a reduction in the emission of those gasses.

For example, if Mercedes Benz’s activities lead to the production of a certain amount of carbon dioxide, they can fund the activities of someone in the Democratic Republic of Congo that plants enough trees to absorb the same amount of carbon dioxide that Mercedes Benz produces. Therefore, Mercedes Benz AG can claim to be carbon neutral.

Business, Markets & Opportunities

In order words, there is like a market for trading greenhouse gas emissions.

Areas in which big companies and developed countries can fund projects (to get carbon credits) include forestry, renewable energy (windfarms, solar projects, biogas digesters, cookstoves, destruction of landfill methane, etc.

These ideas, the idea that there is money to be made in fighting global warming, the idea that there are job opportunities in fighting global warming, have changed the nature of the fight and have changed climate conferences like COP28.

The Rio Earth Summit of 1992 mainly featured national politicians, scientists and activists. It was mainly about the science of climate change and the ozone layer. COP28 features national politicians, state and local politicians, all kinds of businessmen, journalists, NGOs, scientists, activists and many more people.
Foreign AffairsRe: Nigeria Has The Second Highest Number Of Foreign Registered Delegates For #COP30 by naptu2:
naptu2:
There was a ridiculous report that the Nigerian Government had sent (and therefore was funding) 1,411 people to COP28. Of course that’s a lie. The person that wrote that report simply got a list of people that got blue badges from the Nigerian Government. This includes people like Abdulsamad Rabiu, Tony Elumelu, Aliko Dangote and Gilbert Chagoury, who would have paid their own way and even flew there on their own private jets.

(By the way, I previously wrote that certain stories seem to recur whenever a Nigerian president travels. President Goodluck Jonathan travelled to Kenya in 2014. There was going to be a business summit on the sidelines of his visit. Sahara Reporters and other similar media began writing sensational stories that Goodluck Jonathan travelled with 7 private jets and an enormous delegation. Ma d people believed these stories. The fact of the matter was that the President only travelled with 1 jet, the presidential jet, while the other jets were used by businessmen like Aliko Dangote, who attended the business event. I remember that the then Kenyan foreign minister made a comment about the number of jets Nigerians took to Kenya).

The fact is that many people that were registered/accredited by the Federal Government (that is, they got their blue badges from the Federal Government) paid for the trip themselves or were funded by their organisation or participated virtually. The Federal Government only sent 422 people to COP28, not 1,411.

In fact, as you’ll see in the next part, there are many people and organisations, including businessmen, activists, government agencies, journalists, etc. who wanted blue badges, but couldn’t get any. Some of them were invited to events in the Blue Zone, but they are not able to attend because they do not have blue badges.

Foreign AffairsRe: Nigeria Has The Second Highest Number Of Foreign Registered Delegates For #COP30 by naptu2: 5:49pm On Nov 17, 2025
naptu2:
The Blue Zone is organised by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Only UNFCCC-accredited participants such as Parties, world leaders, media, and observers will have access to the Blue Zone.

As you will see in part 2, the nature of the summit has changed since 1992. The summit now attracts businessmen, NGOs (both international and local), federal and local politicians, heads of parastatals and other civil servants, journalists and other media personalities, scientists, etc (instead of just the federal politicians and scientists of 1992). All of these people need the blue badge in order to access the Blue Zone, where the main events are taking place.

I will show you tweets from activists from Nigeria and Pakistan who tried to get the blue badge from the UN. They were told that they had to approach their home governments for the badge (the UN had run out of blue badges). These activists were complaining that politicians, businessmen and civil servants were able to get blue badges from the Nigerian and Pakistani governments, yet they were not able to get blue badges.

Foreign AffairsRe: Nigeria Has The Second Highest Number Of Foreign Registered Delegates For #COP30 by naptu2: 5:43pm On Nov 17, 2025
naptu2:
Part 1: Blue Badge

1) The Battle of Seattle: There was a World Trade Organisation summit in Seattle in 1999, but the summit was overshadowed by massive riots.

You see, the West had spent a lot of time trying to convince developing countries to open up their markets/economies. They thought that this would enable them to dump their goods in those countries (that is, they would have an easy market and make huge profit). This idea led to things like NAFTA and the European Union. It was called globalisation.

However, globalisation led to cheap goods and most importantly, cheap labour flooding the West. This led to Westerners losing their jobs. There was therefore a backlash against globalisation. There were major riots at summits like the G8, WTO and World Economic Forum in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

2) 9/11/2001: I don’t need to write much about this. You already know that terrorists attacked the World Trade Centre on September 11th,2001 and you know that terrorist attacks have been on the increase since then.

3) Hamas vs Israel: Furthermore, you know that there is a war between Israel and Hamas and that COP28 is being held in the Middle East.

What this means

1, 2 and 3 above have meant that summit organisers have had to take special measures. They either:

a) Hold the summit in a secluded place, usually a small village (like Davos or Cornwall, or in an already secluded place like Camp David) or,

b) They clear out entire neighbourhoods of a major city and restrict access to it. That’s what led to the Chasers prank that I told you about.

Australia hosted the 2007 APEC summit and the government said that they were going to have the biggest security operation ever. They were going to spend $160 million on security and they were going to block off an entire district of Sydney. Nobody would be able to get into that district without authorisation.

Well, a comedy group rented a limousine, dressed people up as bodyguards, put a Canadian flag on the limo and they were able to get into the secure zone. They got in front of George Bush’s hotel and a person dressed as Osama Bin Ladin came out of the limo. That’s when they were arrested.

The point is that there is a (I hate to use the word similar) major security operation in place for COP28.

The event is being held at Expo City and access has been restricted. The area has been divided into a Green Zone and a Blue Zone.

Anybody with a ticket can enter the Green Zone (this is the public area).

You need to have a blue badge to enter the Blue Zone. That blue badge is like gold right now.

The Blue Zone is where the main negotiations and discussions are taking place. It hosts the World Climate Action Summit, the country pavilions, presidency events, and hundreds of side events including panel discussions, round tables, and cultural events. I want you to note the term country pavilions. We’ll come back to it in part 2.

PoliticsRe: COP30: They Were Not Sponsored By Government – Presidency Tackles Peter Obi by naptu2: 2:12pm On Nov 17, 2025
Everybody already knows this. This was well explained 2 years ago.

naptu2:
They did this nonsense during COP28 in 2023. I thought that they had gotten some sense last year and that's why they didn't do it, but we are back to square one.

There's a huge variety of people that attend these climate change summits and that includes:

1) Heads of state and government.

2) Other government officials like heads of ministries, departments and agencies.

3) Environmental activists and NGOs

4) Scientists.

5) Influencers

6) Businessmen, especially those involved in the energy industry and those that make eco-friendly products.

7) Financiers.

8 ) Journalists

Etc.

For security reasons and because of the variety of people that are attending, the venue is divided into colour zones. You need to have the correct badge/ID for a zone before you can enter it.

There is a particular zone that is a high security zone and that's where the heads of state and government meet (that's why you see them walking around with little security).

The issue is how do you get the badges?

The organisers give sensitive badges to governments and some international agencies. You can only get the badges from these governments and agencies.

The fact that someone's name is in the list of a government or agency does not mean that it was that government or agency that paid for his trip.

For example, Dangote might be in Nigeria's list, because he got his badge from the Nigerian Government, but he would fund his trip by himself.

Furthermore, the fact that you see a Nigerian at the event does not mean that he is in the Nigerian list. Damilola Ogunbiyi attends every COP, but she's obviously on the UN list, Joe Ajaero attended COP28 and he was on the ILO list (NLC funded his trip and NLC hosted an event at the summit) and Dayo Israel was invited by the host country in 2023.

But how would that girl know this?

You are right.

But it does not happen in the exact moment that the incident occurs. First, aviation security must deboard and arrest both passengers and taken to the investigation room.

After questioning, a decision is made to prosecute them. Prosecution is not instant.

What could happen faster is the airlines placing the unruly passengers on a no-fly list, and even that would happen after management meetings, debates, and action.

This event in Asaba just happened. I was boarding a flight out of Nigeria when the report from an X user got to me. As soon as I landed at the transit airport, I made calls. I have been informed that both passengers were deplaned (this is good) and taken to interrogation room.

I have asked why the airline has not forwarded an incident report and I am told that they are presently in a management meeting. This is normal, too. Even abroad.

What I can assure you is this; the NCAA will do its part. Our officers in Asaba have been tasked to find and report the exact actions taken by aviation security, pilot, and other personnel. This may go beyond just the two passengers. How long did it take for security to arrive? How long did the incident last before the pilot called for security, if he did.

If the passengers were arrested, are they still in detention? If they were released, why?

When all of these are decided, appropriate ramifications would be dished by relevant agencies.

I must note that the NCAA does not have prosecutorial powers. The Authority, as with previous cases, would surely advise the airline to blacklist the passengers and write the AGF and the IGP to prosecute the unruly passengers.

Your post is not wrong per ramifications. It is only that those ramifications cannot be dished out on the spot. Action will be taken.

VDM AND MR. JOLLOF

I had just boarded a flight and about to take off when I was tagged to a video post about a rage incident between VDM and Mr. Jollof, two social media influencers who should know better than the unacceptable behaviour and subsequent gloating video made by one of the individuals.

Because the aircraft was about to push back for taxiing, and I needed to switch off my phone, I quickly asked the poster for two basic details so that I could quickly forward a screenshot to our CPOs to investigate and get me details which would help me do my job on arrival at transit airport.

I just arrived at the transit airport to find my comment riddled with chaotic insults and labels by people who think that asking questions of the same social media folk who I attend to, day and night, on social media, is an aberration.

I will ignore those insults for now.

Procedurally, the airline should report the incident to the NCAA, and my department would forward to legal for advise and appropriate action/advise.

Since I have not received such a report yet, I will say this before I board my connecting flight:

There is no tolerance for unruly behaviour aboard an aircraft. Both individuals will face the full strength of the law. It is even more shameful when one considers both of them partners in educating their millions of followers to avoid unruly behavior.

While waiting for information (I have reached out to our staff for details now that I am on ground), one wonders if the pilot had both passengers deplaned or if they were flown to destination. If it was the latter, there will be consequences.

The actions of both men put the safety of all other passengers and the crew at risk. It also put the safety of the aircraft at risk.

The NCAA has exerted a lot of energy and resources in educating passengers about the dangers of unruly behaviour and its consequences.

In this case, no matter what led to the fracas, there is no excuse that makes it acceptable.

Subject to the speed of information, I will put out a proper statement before boarding my next flight. Otherwise, I will do so on arrival at destination.
