This South African man explains why some black South Africans are angry at what the NFL did.

He said that black South Africans were told during Apartheid that there was a hierarchy, whites were the superior race, then Asians, then coloureds and then black people. However, they were told that they shouldn't worry that there were 3 classes above them because black South Africans were superior to other Africans.

He said that this is the origin of the hate against other Africans.

South Africans criticise NFL and Paschal Ekeji for wishing them happy Freedom Day.

Paschal Ekeji was born in Lesotho to Nigerian parents. He grew up in Bloemfontein in South Africa, where he played rugby.

He was signed by the New York Jets of the American National Football League in 2025. He painted Nigerian, Lesotho and South African flags on his helmet.

Freedom Day is celebrated in South Africa on April 27th to mark the first fully democratic elections which took place on that date in 1994.

The NFL posted a photo of Paschal Ekeji and wished South Africans happy Freedom Day, but this was criticised by some South Africans that said that Paschal Ekeji is not South African.

I spoke to a few party leaders and some of my friends that are contesting elections

One thing is clear to me at this point that even the ADC alone cannot defeat APC not to talk of dividing it again; it is not possible!

Even as a young man, I see this clearly and I expect our leaders to see it too

I have begged them to drop their egos and speak to each other for goodness sake! We should be more concerned about the mega alliance we have announced at Ibadan which will include the PDP, DLA, APP, Accord, LP, NNPP and others

That should be the conversation at the moment

How do we broaden this conversation and include more and more hands!

This may be the end of the road for me

I genuinely don't have the energy and the luxury of moving around anymore

My generation must now sit down and build something tangible that will be result oriented

I'm still mourning the loss of LP - it should not have happened after we used our blood to build that platform to a powerhouse

Now we have also invested massively in ADC. Already alot of young people have invested in setting up party structures. Membership registration drives and shaping the party's media outlook. Just recently I did multiple TV appearances speaking about the party and the coalition

I expect my generation to consolidate on gains of yesteryears and build a table for ourselves. At the moment it appears our leaders make decisions that favour their own ambition without considering their supporters

How long before my generation becomes the main conversation? This politicking should be revolving around us not them.
