Lanretoye: In Nigeria we rush to believe the person that cries first, she said a corrupt court process facilitated her eviction…when some things doesn’t go in our favor then we discredit the whole system to play victim card. Let your lawyers see all evidence that you have committed a murder, they will still collect money from you to ursher you to the prison. Instead of her to post documents to prove that she owned the land or property she developed, they will rather come online and look for public sympathy. Instead of posting petitions, she should post the court papers, proof of ownership of the property so that people will know that she is being cheated.
It's a family dispute. The house belonged to her mother and she said that she lived in it with her mother till her mother died in 2013. There are 3 sisters and Uche Ibeto is the youngest. Her elder sisters say that they are the administrators of their mother's estate and they have sold the house. Uche Ibeto says that they have no right to sell the house, while the elder sisters say that Uche Ibeto has no say in what happens to the house. It was the new owners that came to evict Uche Ibeto.

naptu2: I was very ill sometime between 1982 and 1984 and the radio was beside my bed. They kept playing this song over and over and it brought me back to life. Listening to this song in that place between sleep and wake is simply magical (or maybe it was the drugs, who knows? )
"I will open my mouth, I will sing, I will lift God high".

Tinubu to undergo surgery in U.S. hospital; condoles with Fashola over father’s death
by Ben Ezeamalu August 6, 2013
A former Lagos state governor, Bola Tinubu, will this week undergo surgery on one of his knees at an unnamed hospital in the United States.
A statement by the Special Adviser on Media to the former governor, Sunday Dare, said Mr. Tinubu hurt one of his knees while engaged in sport.
Mr. Dare did not say what sport the former governor was engaged in and which of his two knees is being operated.
However, the statement, which sought to explain the reason for Mr. Tinubu’s brief absence from public events, explained that the situation with the bad knee had worsened, and that doctors have now recommended surgery.
“Based on previous sports injury on one of his knees and recent further aggravation on the knee from rigorous political and family related activities, he has been advised by his Doctors, despite his persistent reluctance that orthopaedic surgery is necessary at this time,” the statement said.
“The week of the 5th of August has been slated for the surgery. Governor Tinubu is expected to resume his normal political activities and public engagements following clearance from his doctors.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Tinubu has condoled with Lagos Governor Babatunde Fashola, who lost his 79-year old father, Ademola Fashola, on Monday.
He said he received news of the passing of Pa Fashola “with great shock and deep sadness”.
He added, “His demise even at the ripe age of 79 years is a hurtful one and we have indeed lost a true, honest, steadfast and dependable father.
“Pa Ademola Fashola a man of integrity is a father no one would want to loose at a time like this.My family and I send our heartfelt condolences to governor Babatunde Raji Fashola on this great loss.
“We must find solace and take comfort in the fact that Baba lived a fulfilled life and passed away with the knowledge that he gave his very best to his family, to Lagos State and Nigeria. There is no greater testimony to this than his son, Babatunde Fashola, the Governor of Lagos who has given a new meaning to good governance and purposeful leadership.
“Pa Fashola, Lagosians thank you. Nigeria thanks you for giving us a son like Babatunde Raji Fashola” Governor Fashola must remain strong in the face of this great loss of a dotting father, especially as all his other siblings look up to him for strength and courage.
“May Allah (SWT) be his consolation and grant him peace at a time like this.”

This Day (Lagos) 6 May 2002
Lagos — The on-going business trip of Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the United States of America (USA) has attracted the donation of medical equipment estimated at over $300 million to the state government.
Tinubu was conducted round the hospital equipment by the Mayor of Chicago City Council, Mayor Richard Daley Thursday in Chicago.
Obama invites Tinubu for his nomination acceptance
By Channels Television September 3, 2012
The National leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is to attend the three-day National Convention of the United States Democratic Party that kicks off today in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Local media report that Mr Tinubu who was invited to the Democratic National Convention in his right as the leader of the opposition in Nigeria will be at the ring side as the Democratic Party conduct activities that will culminate in the nomination of President Barrack Obama as its candidate for the November 2012 Presidential elections in the USA.
The former Lagos State governor will be accompanied by the Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, Dele Alake and the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji
The Republican Party at the weekend confirmed the nomination of Mitt Romney as its candidate.
A statement by Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser on Media to the former Lagos state governor reads: “Tinubu receives a gold card invitation which is prime and with this, he will be joined by three other eminent personalities – Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state, Speaker Lagos state House of Assembly Adeyemi Ikuforiji and former Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Lagos state, Mr Dele Alake.
“On Thursday, at Bank of America stadium, President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will deliver their nomination acceptance speeches.
Four years ago when President Obama was inaugurated, Mr Tinubu also enjoyed a ring side seat at the event in Washington.
Mr Tinubu’s invitation to attend the convention comes after a successful one week lecture tour, town hall meeting and book launch in Washington and Chicago.
He delivered a lecture at the prestigious Wilson Center for International scholars on the challenges facing Nigeria’s democratic experiment and offered solutions to problems of under development facing the country.
Similarly at a town hall meeting in Chicago with Governors Rauf Aregbesola and Abiola Ajimobi on hand, Tinubu spoke extensively on Nigeria’s search for true federalism and highlighted the fault lines in the country’s practice of federalism.
At the convention, Tinubu is expected to discuss how to entrench true federalism in Nigeria in his private discussions with the leading figures of the Obama administration and seek the US support for Nigeria to hold a free and fair election in 2015.
Their response is that they are ready to fight for 20 more years.
Remember that America invaded Afghanistan in 2003 in order to remove the Taliban from power. Then America withdrew from Afghanistan in 2021 and the Taliban immediately came back to power (in other words, the US invaded Afghanistan to remove the Taliban only for the Taliban to return to power).
2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Race: Falconets soar over She-Amavubi in Kigali
Nigeria’s U20 girls, Falconets, pipped hosts Rwanda 1-0 in a 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup second round, first leg qualifying match in Kigali on Sunday.
Both teams fought hard on the pitch of the Kigali-Pele Stadium, located in the Nyamirambo district of the city, but there was no breakthrough for either side in a gritty first 45 minutes.
Alaba Olabiyi scored from a goalmouth scramble off a corner kick in the 70th minute to give Nigeria victory, and put smiles on the face of Head Coach Moses Aduku in his first outing with the team.
Both teams will clash in the return at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan on Saturday
This story has been told many times in the past 25 years and Bola Tinubu has gone to the US many times since then.
On one occasion when he was governor, he fell ill and was taken to a hospital in the US. He was there for quite some time and that's when he got the idea to build a medical park in Lagos.
On another occasion (I think it was 2012) he attended the Democratic Party Convention in the US.
He also had knee surgery in the US in 2013 and again in 2021.
He has also addressed UNGA in New York since he became president.
