naptu2: Dear sir or madam would you read my book, It took me years to write, would you take a look? It's based on a novel by a man named Lear, And I need a job cos I wanna be a Paperback writer, Paperback writer!
It's the dirty story of a dirty man And his clinging wife doesn't understand. His son is working for the Daily Mail, It's a steady job but he wants to be a Paperback writer.
Paperback writer! Paperback writer!
It's a thousand pages, give or take a few, I'll be writing more in a week or two. I can make it longer if you like the style, I can change it round and I want to be a paperback writer Paperback writer!
If you really like it you can have the rights, It could make a million for you overnight. If you must return it, you can send it here, But I need a break and I want to be a Paperback writer! Paperback writer.
I know that they have lots and lots of really very good songs (lots and lots and lots of really good songs) but this is my favourite. It's also so much fun to play and I taught myself to play this song in the early 1990s.
The video is also a lot of fun. See, it went like this:
I should have posted this song a long time ago, but I didn't because I was searching for what I thought was the official video. The strange thing was that I couldn't find that video anywhere and YouTube kept suggesting another video as the official video. Was it my imagination or was I mad?
Well, I've now figured it out. The video that I was searching for was a combination of the opening sequence of the movie (which has the same name as the song) and their famous Abbey Road photograph.
This song and Paperback Writer have always been my favourite Beatles songs.
The first video is of the opening sequence in the movie. However, the audio is horrible and so I've also posted a second video that has much better audio.
This song was also on one of thise tiny vinyl singles in my parents' collection. I can't remember what was on the B-side.
So I got to get up Early in the morning Why you wanna lovey dovey.
Charlie Wilson actually sang
Early in the morning Find me another lover
So I got to get up Early in the morning Find me another lover
.
I sang
Ain't nothing wrong with the one hand music Like ***** And I was born with a guitar in my hand And I was born the wrong waaaaay
Elvis Presley sang
Ain't nothing wrong with the long haired music Like Brahms, Beethoven and Bach And I was born with a guitar in my hand And I was born to rock, weeelllll
naptu2: We take a little detour and do a little rockin and rolling with the King.
I didn't post a video the last time I posted this song because I was looking for the version that's on the album, but I kept finding the version of the song that's in the movie. I have finally found what I'm looking for.
naptu2 post=79231779: Memories.
When I was a kid, we would take our positions before this song began and prepare to obey Elvis Presley's every command.
( "Du ke" in brackets = the beat of the drums).
I'm just going to jump to my favourite verse.
♪Well there ain't nothing wrong with the long-haired music Like Brahms, Beethoven and Bach Well I was raised with a guitar in my hand And I was born to rock Weeeeellllllll,
Come on everybody and turn your head to the left (dum ke dum ke dum ke dum dum ke) Come on everybody and turn your head to the right (dum ke dum ke dum ke dum dum ke) Come on everybody take a real deep breath And repeat after me I'm love ah my baby I love ah my baby Hey, hey, hey and my baby loves me
Come on everybody and snap your fingers now (dum ke dum ke dum ke dum dum ke) Come on everybody clap your hands real loud (dum ke dum ke dum ke dum dum ke) Come on everybody take a real deep breath And repeat after me I love ah my baby I love ah my baby Hey, hey, hey and my baby loves me
Come on everybody and whistle this tune right now Come on everybody and stomp your feet real loud Come on everybody take a real deep breath And repeat after me I love ah my baby I love ah my baby Hey, hey, hey and my baby loves me♫
This is the song that taught me to whistle properly.
🎵Did you ever notice when the sun goes down Out of nowhere comes a strange and pretty sound It's a whistling tune for walking in the night If you listen you can hear it in the breeze Specially when the breeze is drifting through the trees
It's a whistling tune for walking in the night And the murmuring waters sing the song The echoing mountains hum along The whispering valleys fill the air With a whistling tune our hearts can share
It's so wonderful to walk beneath the moon Listening to old mother nature's favorite tune It's a whistling tune for walking in the night🎶
I might be wrong (it's such a long time ago), but I think the album version was slightly deeper than this.
naptu2: This song has been stuck in my head since I woke up on Tuesday. Therefore, I am going to try and remove it by turning it into a playlist.
I am going to try and post all the songs from that album, at least all the songs that I can remember.
Some of the songs have movie versions and album versions. I will try and post the album versions.
There are some songs that are in the movies but not on the album. I will try and resist the temptation to post them (I have previously done a playlist of the movie songs). I will try and post only songs that are on the album.
🎵Oh, I love only one girl, the one I got my arms around I love only one girl, one in every town
In Paris there is Mimi, and when the moon is bright I love to take her walking, along the Seine each night I kiss her on the left, then I kiss her on the right
Oh, I love only one girl, the one I got my arms around I love only one girl, one in every town
I'm proud of my Brunhilda, in Frankfurt on the Rhine Oh she's a lot of woman and all of her is mine Oh she can lift a Steinway as easy as a stein
Oh, I love only one girl, the one I got my arms around I love only one girl, one in every town
In Naples there's Maria how she can cook and flirt You can't beat her lasagna, I eat until I hurt And then she tops it off with "amore" for dessert
Oh, I love only one girl, the one I got my arms around I love only one girl, one in every town🎶
naptu2: Elvis Presley - I Love Only One Girl (1967)
naptu2: I can no longer remember the plots of these movies, but I can remember many scenes in them.
The boy that is riding with Elvis reminds me of one of my security guards from 40 years ago. That man knew everybody! There's nobody that he did not know. In fact, there was a running joke about Fridays. The man would always come to ask my dad for permission to be off duty on Fridays, because a relative of his was being buried. How many relatives did he have? Don't ask me.
The joke here is that the boy that is riding with Elvis seems to know everybody in Acapulco and despite the fact that he's little, he seems to have the connections to get anything done. So when he and Elvis pass a marching band Elvis asks him, "Did you arrange that?" and he replies, "No, it was my cousin".
Acapulco was a holiday resort for lots of American millionaires from the 1950s till the 1990s, but now the drug gangs have taken over the city and the US Government has issued warnings that US citizens should not go there because of the incredible level of violence (it is the 2nd deadliest city in the world).
Elvis Presley - Mexico o (Fun In Acapulco Soundtrack) (1963).
naptu2: I might be wrong, but I remember that this was the big finale at the end of the movie.
Elvis Presley - Guadalajara (Fun In Acapulco Soundtrack) (1963).
naptu2: This is my entire childhood. I had the videotape of this movie in the late 1970s and early 1980s and I watched it so much that the tape wore out. I can no longer remember the plot, but I can still remember all the songs and certain scenes.
From the movie Fun in Acapulco (1963)
(The first video is the big finish at the end of the movie. I don't care what the real name of the second song is, I'm going to write what I called it back then).
Oops! Sorry about that second video. The audio is from the album! I don't want the album version, I want the movie version! You can't hear the kid on the album, but he was the one that made the song a lot of fun.
I'll tell you what I remember about that kid. He seemed to know or be related to everybody in Acapulco. Just tell him what you want and he'll get one of his uncountable cousins to do it for you.
saintnegroid: if the new is not true, how come it was printed on the news media? I can tell you that the information is true. No need to hide because it will surely be heard publicly
*Breaking: Tinubu sacks Ministers of Defence and Power.*
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has removed the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, and Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence. Additionally, the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has also been sacked.
In a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, it was explained that the dismissal of the Defence ministers was due to their failure to stop the ongoing killings of innocent Nigerians across the country.
The statement also indicated that the decision to remove the Minister of Power was based on his inability to improve the power situation over the pass two years.
Fake News Alert: Ministers Not Sacked, Ignore Phoenix's False Report
This is to inform the general public that the story titled "BREAKING: Tinubu Sacks Ministers of Defence and Power", published by Phoenix Browser, is completely false, misleading, and devoid of any factual basis. At no point has President Bola Ahmed Tinubu dismissed the Ministers of Defence or Power. This falsehood, presented as breaking news, is nothing but reckless propaganda designed to misinform the public.
To set the record straight, the most recent cabinet changes announced in October 2024 did not include the Ministers of Defence or Power. Those affected were Ministers of Women Affairs, Tourism, Education, State for Housing and Urban Development, and Youth Development. Furthermore, ten ministers were reassigned, and seven new nominees were presented for Senate confirmation, all of which were officially documented and widely reported by credible media platforms.
Nigerians are strongly advised to ignore the concocted report by Phoenix Browser. It is fake news, plain and simple, sensationalist hogwash that should be treated with the contempt it deserves.
Please depend on official government channels and trusted news outlets for accurate and verified information.
Security agencies must urgently take action against fake news websites and platforms and the purveyors who fail to check the authenticity of the stories and make them go viral. Press freedom and freedom of speech will not exist when some people can wake up and concoct their news and narratives without regard for truth. Fake news is simply licentiousness and must be criminalised.
