The Governor said that he contacted Chief Allen Onyema, the CEO of Air Peace and Chief Onyema offered to give him an aircraft to convey the 204 people to the UK. Chief Onyema said that he would have also borne all the cost if he knew about the event earlier.

Yesterday, with great joy and pride, we flagged off our historic initiative, the 2024/2025 Ebonyi State Scholarship programme, marking it with the departure of 204 Ebonyians to the United Kingdom and 541 other Ebonyians in various other Universities in Nigeria for their Masters and Doctorate degree programs.

This celebration is not just an investment in education, but an investment in the future of our State and no infrastructure can be bigger than this. It is an event that demonstrates our commitment to human capital development which occupies centre stage in our Government.

I urge you, our scholars, to immerse yourselves fully in your studies, embrace the cultures you encounter, and build networks that will be invaluable to your growth. But remember, your ultimate mission lies here at home. Upon completing your studies. For emphasis, we expect you to return to our State and channel your expertise into sectors that need your innovation, creativity, and leadership.

May your journey be successful and rewarding as proud ambassadors of Ebonyi State.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has doused the Fire that erupted at Bogobiri House, 9 Maitama Sule Street, Ikoyi, Lagos at about 20:06hrs

The one storey building used as hotel has it upper floor went on flame before the intervention of the Dolphin and Ebute Elefun Fire Crews of the Agency that quelled the Fire after confining it to the floor it emanated while saving other sections of the structure and adjoining property.

The ops has wrapped up without any record of victim as the investigation into the cause has began in earnest
