In this special prayer session, the staff of Water Corporation prayed to God to soften the heart of Anambra's "Pharaoh," Obi, so he would release their many years of unpaid salaries & entitlements

The question is: Why do the workers keep mentioning Obi in this matter?


3/4 While Obi’s team claimed that the Corporation was dead before Obi arrived, why was Ngige paying their salaries, paying electricity bills, buying water treatment for the waterworks in Onitsha, and didn’t declare the Corporation dead? Those are the questions Obi needs to answer

Also, Ezeife, Mbadinuju, & Ngige never labeled the Corporation as dead only Peter Obi did

If that’s the case, how come Obi’s government allocated money to the board in the budget and then gave those funds to private contractors as loans?

I want the world to see what the NDC’s thugs came to my community in Effurun, Uvwie LGA of Delta State, to do on Friday, 18th September, 2026. They wrecked havoc on billboards pasted everywhere by Tompolo’s door-to-door Campaign Organisation, entered people’s shops with dangerous weapons and looted the shops. If it had been the other way round against the APC, the section of the bias PRESS and so-called human rights groups would have been screaming to high heavens, but since this happened, EVERYWHERE IS MUTE.

This is the EXACT point I made when I openly condemned the blockade of Peter Obi’s entourage from entering Benue State. But what happened in Benue is nothing compared to this. The double standards everywhere is sickening. The video is clear and the evidence is overwhelming. We have more evidence. The thugs were even accompanied by law-enforcement agents in their payroll. As the foremost political leader in that community, I will not let this slide. I have warned everyone not to resort to self-help.

I WILL BE SUBMITTING A PETITION TO THE INSPECTOR- GENERAL OF POLICE THIS WEEK TO THOROUGHLY INVESTIGATE this incident and bring all those found wanting to book (even against APC leaders, if anyone crossed the line). Disciplinary action should also be taken against those law-enforcement agents in their midst that condoned the looting and destruction of properties.

These are the results of the World Group 1 matches this weekend.

The 8 victorious teams will take part in the Super 8 tournament.

The Davis Cup is a global tennis tournament between men's national teams. The teams are divided into groups (kind of like divisions in football).

In the old days there was the World Group, which had the best tennis national teams in the world and then there were regional groups. Nigeria played in the Euro-Africa Zone Group 1 in the 1980s and early 1990s and we were trying to get promoted to the world group.

However, we got relegated to Euro-Africa Zone Group 2 and I remember that we played a promotion match against Britain in 1996 but lost. We have been relegated since then and I lost touch with the competition.

Today the regional groups have been abolished and what we have are World Group 1, World Group 2, World Group 3 and World Group 4.

For the first time since the early 1990s, Nigeria has been promoted to the World Group 2, which is the second division of the Davis Cup.

This match was an opportunity to play in the playoffs to gain promotion to World Group 1 (the top group), but we lost, so we'll remain in World Group 2.

Morocco ends Nigeria’s Davis Cup run

Morocco ended Nigeria’s run in the Davis Cup World Group II with a 4-0 defeat in their tie at the Railway Club courts in Rabat on Sunday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The hosts completed the victory on Sunday with two more victories after taking a commanding 2-0 lead on Saturday, with Bennani and Dlimi winning their respective singles matches.

Karim Bennani opened the tie with a dominant 6-1, 6-2 victory over Canice Abua before Yassine Dlimi produced an identical 6-1, 6-2 result against Yusuf Abubakar to put Morocco in control of the tie.

Sunday’s programme featured the doubles before the reverse singles, with Nigeria’s Michael Emmanuel and Yusuf Abubakar facing Morocco’s Younes Lalami and Dlimi.

The doubles rubber ended 6-3, 6-2 in favour of the hosts, ultimately sealing their win before Amine Jamji beat Emmanuel 6-3, 6-4 in the reverse singles.

Nigeria’s defeat brings an end to their campaign at the World Group II level after they earned promotion in February by beating Uzbekistan 3-1 at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan.

The promotion marked the highest level Nigeria had reached in the Davis Cup.

Their preparations for the Morocco tie, however, suffered setbacks following the withdrawal of Adeleye due to injury, while Seun Ogunsakin also pulled out over conditioning concerns.

Morocco’s victory earns them a place in the 2027 World Group I Play-offs, while Nigeria will remain in World Group II play-offs ahead of next year.

The defeat also extended Nigeria’s wait for a first Davis Cup victory over Morocco, having lost their previous four meetings since 1973.
