Stripped down and short version of what the governor said (from the video).
He said that the markets need to open and that the economy would be affected if the markets don't open.
He said that he would ensure that there's adequate security for the markets to open without any problems.
He said that he would be at the market every Monday to see how things are going. He said that he came there the previous Monday, he is there again and he will come on Mondays to see what is happening.
He said that any shop that is closed on a Monday will be shut down, maybe for a week. Even at a point it could be sealed for a month.
He said that it's important for the shops to be open.
Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has issued a warning that any store or shopping plaza that remains closed on Mondays due to the sit-at-home directive originally announced by the Indigenous People of Biafra will be sealed off.
I embarked on a routine tour of some major markets in Onitsha to see how the people fared. I seized the opportunity to reiterate our stand on the now infamous Monday “sit-at-home”
We’ll continue to encourage our people to own their land. Anambra will continue to win!

Soludo threatens to seal shops of traders observing Monday sit-at-home
8th October 2024
Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has threatened to seal any shop or plaza closed on Mondays in compliance with the sit-at-home order initially declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra.
Soludo issued the warning during an inspection tour of the Main Market in Onitsha on Monday, where he expressed his displeasure over the large number of locked shops and plazas.
The governor visited the market, known as the largest in West Africa, to observe the level of commercial activity amid the lingering sit-at-home order.
Since IPOB declared the sit-at-home in 2021 to protest the extraordinary rendition of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, the exercise has continued to disrupt business activities in the South East, despite IPOB’s official suspension of the order.
Fear of violent enforcement has caused markets, schools, banks, and other businesses to remain closed every Monday.
Soludo, who inspected the market, warned that any trader or business that refuses to open on Mondays would face severe penalties, including the sealing of shops for up to one month.
He stressed that the persistent closure of businesses on Mondays would damage the local economy, as customers might start going to other regions to purchase goods.
He said, “I am here to ensure that your shops are open. From now on, every Monday, the Main Market must be open for business,” the governor declared. “If you fail to open, your shop will be sealed for one week, and if necessary, for up to one month. When you are ready to open, it must be from Monday through Saturday.”
Soludo assured the traders that adequate security measures would be in place to protect them, urging them to resume full commercial activities on Mondays.
Wetin concern me bi this; how is KAI the abbreviation of Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps?
It's original name was Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI). The name was changed to Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) many years later, but the masses still refer to it with its former name and so government officials sometimes refer to it with its former name so that the masses will know what they are talking about.
Upon expiration of notices served, Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resource through the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps @LAGESCOfficial (KAI) removed illegal structures built by the officers of the Nigerian Army by the perimeter fence of Yaba College of Technology.
The Lagos State government reiterates it's commitment to zero tolerance to all kinds of environmental infractions in order to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all Lagosians.

Earlier today, officers of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI), lawfully engaged in their duties in Yaba, were subjected to an unprovoked attack by personnel of the Nigerian Army under the directive of Major Adebiyi and Captain Gowon.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General T. Lagbaja, and the Director of Chaplain Services, Lt. Col. T.E. Ogbonyomi, for their swift and decisive intervention in support of civil authorities. Their leadership has ensured that KAI officers continue to carry out their responsibilities without further disruption, reinforcing the principle that military personnel are subject to the authority of civil governance within their jurisdictions.
We strongly condemn this unwarranted and unacceptable assault on officers executing their lawful duties. Moving forward, such acts will not be tolerated.
We remain committed to ensuring a #CleanerLagos by upholding safety and sanitation standards across the state.
Tokunbo Wahab, Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Lagos State
