🚨 Aitana Bonmatí's salary now reaches €1 million, and her new release clause is nearly impossible to meet, though the specific figure remains undisclosed.
The group were originally known as the Jackson 5. Then they moved to Epic Records and they became known as The Jacksons. Jermaine Jackson left the group when they moved from Motown to Epic. Randy (the youngest brother) replaced Jermaine. Michael and Jermaine sang lead on most of their songs.
Michael and Jermaine gradually became more successful than the group in the late 1970s and early 1980s. At that time there were 3 major acts from the family, Michael Jackson, Jermaine Jackson and The Jacksons.
Take this video as an example. This video was like the national anthem on NTA2 Channel 5 in the early 1980s. However, there's something that I did not notice about the video until my friend pointed it out 10 years ago.
Michael and Jermaine sang lead on this song, but none of them was in the video. They simply did not show Jermaine, while Michael was represented by a wax doll. In fact, in the early 1980s, I assumed that neither of them was involved in this project, but they were.
The Jacksons declined after that album, but Michael and Jermaine continued to have great success.
They were joined in 1986 by Janet Jackson. Janet was already famous for her acting in Good Times and Fame, but the Control album, which was released in 1986, made her a superstar musician.
Therefore, the successful acts from the Jackson family in the mid and late 1980s were Michael, Janet and Jermaine.
Latoya Jackson released a few songs, but she was no where as popular as her 3 other siblings.
Then came the 1990s and it was just Michael and Janet from the 1990s till Michael's death in 2009. (Jermaine Jackson's last big hit was "Don't Take It Personal" in 1989).
naptu2: If it were possible to kill a song by playing it over and over again, then NTA2 Channel 5 would have murdered this song.
Note: Michael Jackson is not in this video. That thing that you see there is a dummy (I think he was busy with his solo project when the video was shot).
naptu2: You obviously know that Prince had many many proteges, but did you know that Michael also had proteges? Yes he did.
Michael's proteges were his nephews.
This song was originally written by Babyface for Michael Jackson, but it didn't make the cut into his History album. Michael then decided to give it to his nephews.
These are Tito Jackson's sons and they are called 3T. Michael produced the song and he featured in the video (and sang the chorus).
