The 6 sub-confederations are:
1) Union of North African Football (UNAF)

The road has been in a terrible state since the early 2000s. Successive federal administrations have promised to do something about it, but nothing has been done (it is a federal road).
The Ogun State Government applied to take over the road during the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. They said that they would partner with the Lagos State Government to fix it. Approval was eventually granted and work has now commenced.

🚨Governor @DapoAbiodunCON has flagged off the full reconstruction of the Abeokuta-Ifo-Sango-Abule Egba Highway.
Here is detailed information about the reconstruction project that you should know:
—The road spans a total length of 69.2 kilometers and has a dual carriage width of 10.5 meters. The road traverse five Local Government Areas in both Ogun and Lagos State: Abeokuta North LGA, Ewekoro LGA, Ifo LGA, Ado-Odo/Ota LGA in Ogun State, and Alimosho LGA in Lagos State.
—To expedite the reconstruction process, 5 construction units will be deployed at specific zones to work concurrently. Each of these units will assume responsibility for specific zones at the same time.
The zones are: OTA/IFO, PAPALANTO, EaaaWEKORO/ITORI, ABEOKUTA. Each of these Zones covers approximately 15 kilometers.
The 5th unit will be specially dedicated to palliative works, and ensuring smooth traffic flow during the project’s entire duration.
Project Duration: 18 Months. Construction began two weeks ago.
Project contractor: CRANEBURG Construction Company.
Importance of the Road: The Abeokuta- Otta- Abule Egba highway is the second busiest expressway in Southwest Nigeria and it is widely acclaimed to be the second busiest in Nigeria. The road was initially awarded in 2003, with many stop-gaps until they arrived at current state. However, the construction of the road was never fully completed to detail and specification.
The road serves as a critical artery for numerous industrial hubs, including the Lafarge Cement Factory, various markets and 3 of the most populated LGAs in Nigeria: Ifo, Ado-Odo, and Alimosho in Lagos State. It is also the major connecting road from the industrial area of Ado-Odo Otta and Agbara to Lagos and other parts of Nigeria.
The communities along this corridor are densely populated, and the road's strategic location has a significant impact on trade and economic activities in Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
Scope of Reconstruction: The reconstruction will include Site clearance, Earthworks, Drainage, Culverts, Sidewalks, Median barriers, Pavement and Surfacing, Road markings, Traffic signs, laybacks and Landscaping, among other features, to meet world-class standards.
When the road is completed, It will increase security along the ever-busy axis, provide employment for skilled and unskilled laborers, reduce vehicle maintenance costs and improve the general quality of life of residents in the area.
We have officially commenced the full reconstruction of the 70-kilometre Lagos-Sango Ota-Abeokuta Road, addressing a long-standing issue of neglect that has plagued this critical artery for decades.
Our project aims to restore the road to world-class standards, ensuring smoother transportation, boosting economic activity, and improving the quality of life for residents along the corridor.
