This is for objective people. The law has already made provisions for public interest and facts (like a journalist that writes a report about a corrupt politician). See below. And, of course, any arrest warrant would have to be issued by a judge.

It looks like he is still wasting his time and trying to engage me. I won't read it. ![]() |
CorrectionFLuid:🤣🤣🤣🤣 Did the police tell you that the man won't be charged to court?? They just have evidence to keep the armed robberThe police just has evidence to keep the journalist. But, once again, you tried to run away from the question and I'm not going to let you escape. My question was, can the police get involved. Your very answer shows that the police will get involved. The very fact that you are attempting to dribble from what you know to be true shows that you are not worth my time. I only engage people who are being sincere. Goodbye, I have proved my point and I will not read your responses because it is obvious to me that you are not being serious. |
CorrectionFLuid:I was just waiting for you to do it again. You make allegations that you cannot back up, then you run away from them. HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT THE POLICE HAVE NOT ALREADY SPOKEN TO OTHERS INVOLVED IN THE MATTER BEFORE INVITING THE MAN?? Provide proof that the police hasn't spoken to them. Don't run away from this. |
At this point it's just entertainment. He's obviously not serious. |
CorrectionFLuid:Obviously you don't know how the law works. The law states whether it is a criminal matter or not. The law has already been made. If armed robbers invade your house and kill your wife, you'd say that the police should not get involved until the court determines that it is a criminal matter? 🤣 Don't embarrass yourself |
CorrectionFLuid:Who said it's not the duty of the court to determine the case?? HAS THE POLICE DETERMINED THE CASE NOW?? Do you even know how the justice system works? Whose job is it to investigate the matter? Answer that question first. |
CorrectionFLuid:You are doing the exact same thing you accuse Ishilove of doing. 1) You say that the police did not invite him. Do you have proof that the police did not invite him? 2) You say that the allegation in the article is true. Where is your proof? In fact, all through this thread it looks like you have just been making things up as you go along. |
By the way, correctionfluid, have you now accepted that it is a criminal matter and that the police have a role? |
CorrectionFLuid:You are still refusing (I don't know whether deliberately) to see where you have erred. Please actually read the law, then you'll understand. Cool your emotions (because your examples have nothing to do with the facts at hand) and read this. 1) If a person publishes a defamatory material, then the victim can petition the police. 2) The police can invite the other party in the course of investigation. 3) If you are invited, you simply go with your lawyer. There have been many cases where people were invited, they went with their lawyer and they were released immediately. There have also been cases where the petitioner has been arrested by the police for providing false information. 4) It is the job of the police to investigate and see whether the case has enough substance to send to the DPP or charge to court. In the criminal justice system, the police investigates, the DPP or police prosecutes and the courts adjudicate. 5) Read the law, it provides a definition of defamation, provides exceptions, etc. Don't work based on emotions or assumption. |
CorrectionFLuid In Nigeria there is something called criminal defamation. If someone petitions the police that he has been criminally defamed, then the police will investigate. The police will invite the other party in the course of its investigation. If the other party refuses to appear, then the police can assume that he is fleeing and can apply to a magistrate for a warrant of arrest. This is a response to your claim that it is a civil matter and that the police have no business in it.

Sam Mewis interviewed Danielle van de Donk and (from the 27 minute mark) she talks about her time at Arsenal. She said that the thing that made Arsenal ahead of the others was their scouting. She said that the club had the ability to find great players that nobody had heard about. For example, she played with Asisat Oshoala and she always thought, "You are different. You are going to be great one day". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GxMHsjtVrM?si=qEgFYp-WsJtOICA3 |
