Jubril A. Gawat @Mr_JAGs One FACT I forgot to add to the electric bus thread I did, the bus has an electromagnetic brake system, meaning once the bus is in traffic, as u press the break small small, it recharges the battery powering the bus, it maintains the energy and u have nothing to worry about ⚡️🚎https://twitter.com/Mr_JAGs/status/1665976521066967040 |
Jubril A. Gawat @Mr_JAGs FUTURE: Once the Pilot Scheme shows all the positive signs as expected, asides from bringing more buses into the fleet of the regular BRTs, there are plans to establish an Assembly Plant for Electric Buses in future in this our Lagos State.https://twitter.com/Mr_JAGs/status/1652950905107501056
Jubril A. Gawat @Mr_JAGs MAINTENANCE: As Stated earlier, the buses being used for this Pilot Scheme will be moving from the normal Facility where BRTs are maintained, only basic maintenance will be needed (tyre change etc), the vehicle has no radiator or regular engines like the normal BRT bus.https://twitter.com/Mr_JAGs/status/1652950196299374595

Jubril A. Gawat@Mr_JAGs CHARGING: The MoU signed with Oando shows they will provide charging stations & other supporting infrastructure. There will be charging stations at the LBSL Facility to charge these first set while there are plans to strategically place Universal Chargers at public places.
Jubril A. Gawat @Mr_JAGs CAPACITY & SECURITY: Each Bus has 3 CCTV Cameras in it, It has a capacity to carry 40 Passengers and has room for standing too to accommodate more. There is also a ramp (for wheelchair) for People Living with Disabilities (PWDs).
Jubril A. Gawat @Mr_JAGs COMPARING NOTES: Information from Lagos Bus Services Limited (LBSL) shows that an average BRT uses about 200km per day (at maximum). The new Electric buses has the ability to travel 280km at full charge, So don’t be afraid, the bus won’t get stuck on 3rd Mainland as speculated 😀https://twitter.com/Mr_JAGs/status/1652947159816314882
Jubril A. Gawat @Mr_JAGs PILOT SCHEME: This initiative is still at the Pilot Stage, a lot of data gathering will still be done in comparison with the existing BRT system, this means few electric buses will be added to the BRT fleet, it will carry passengers normally, use BRT Lane, Cowry card etc.
Jubril A. Gawat @Mr_JAGs PROJECT AIM: This is a commitment of both LASG and Oando to cut down greenhouse gases by replacing it with cleaner sources of energy. This initiative will accelerate the Government Transportation Agenda and positively impact the health of Lagosians and the environment in general.https://twitter.com/Mr_JAGs/status/1652945640588992513

Moneyboyz:The solar panels at the top of the vehicle do not run it. They are for things like the radio and other electrical components. The car runs on a battery that is charged at a solar-powered charging station. The vehicle is charged at the charging station (you can see a picture of one of the charging stations in my post) and it has a range of 150km (tricycles have a range of 200km). There are 150 solar panels at the charging station. It's all explained in my posts. |
