asha80: that senegal of 2002 had good individual players in salif diao, fadiga, henry camara,diuof,cisse..maybe not great but they were quite good.ghana 2010 yes werent so good individually per say i only know diouf and fadiga .was just a teen then.. I just have the feeling that if we make it out of the group we can get to the quarter finals |

Kog45: Rohr already made up his mind and on player to drop.
Uche Agbo surprised to see him dropped cos always make Rohr squad despite not playing
Stephen Eze lacks the pedigree to compete with Omeruo a d Awaziem, so expected
Junior Lokosa had a debut and impressed as winger but hope to see him after WC.
Dele Ajiboye had a good performance in camp and gave Rohr headache in picking between him,Ezenwa and Akpeyi.
With this decision Rohr is a very conservative who believe in those who worked with him and Simmy need to thank his star that Simeon is out injure.
Hope to see good match against London and see who to drop again. see no sensible coach will drop simy even if Moses wasn't injured,, are they playing the same wing? Simy has a lot to offer he's quick strong skilful and can hold on the ball |

asha80: you are right and i have also said this before..the only issue is that quality of players now cannot be compared to the 90's set ya but I feel Moses ndidi iwobi Mikel simy can pull a surprise. Senegal did it Ghana too even without great individual players |

forgiveness: The lamentation is about the obvious corruption in the selection of players that have to do with nepotism, sentiment, na my brother, man know man. Etc.
The other day Rohr implication himself by telling that he was contacted by Simy's agent and before we know jack shit, Simy made the list. EOD is simi not good? |

Kog45: I think medical reports from camp should do the talking not players telling us they are fit.World cup is not for unfit players.
Rohr must come out and tell us on their fitness cos players like Ebuehi and Ndidi are important to the team.
If Moses Simeon or any players would be out in the next two weeks then they should be dropped.
In other countries nothing like managing players, Romero out Argentina called replacement ASAP but here stories. Baba we don't have the likes of ndidi presently anywhere in and out of Nigeria at the moment so they have to work on ndidi |

nextlevel2222: I would have preferred Aina should be given another chance to prove himself against a world class team like England on Monday before he is drop. As we all know that few players did very well in congo tie. I believe he will deliver if Rohr play him on Monday. I still dnt believe Echiejile is better option.. Have you forgotten schoolboy error Echiejile use to make. He even did it again against Dr Congo that can make Ref to give him red card in world cup tournament. After the world cup I would love to see Rohr to try him for RB position who knows he can be better than Shehu and Ebuehi. Just saying ball is in Rohr court. the match is Saturday not Monday |

Joebie: I said it was said here.. Before now I said Simy would have still made the list to London, regardless of Simon's condition.
modified Take note that Rorh spoke about Simy's qualities and admitted we didn't have such type of player. alright brother,, about Aina i don't see anything special in him, I think the Chelsea thing is just playing in our heads |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Naughtytboy: 7:00am On May 30, 2018 |
Joebie: It was said here that Simon's injury also strengthens Simy's case.. Simy was never going to replace Simon, since he is not winger.
@bolded, that's the point. Do you really think if simeon wasn't injured with the performance simy showed he wouldn't make the team? Your thought.simeon's injury did nothing to simy's chances |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Naughtytboy: 6:50am On May 30, 2018 |
Joebie: It’s Lokosa. So now, since he can’t replace Simon, what next? Simy replaces Simon? That your stature logic is flawed. Lokosa will not go to Russia for obvious reasons and I’m not complaining. Is anyone arguing for his inclusion here? There are clear under-performers staring at our faces. Aina, and Echiejile are not WC materials. We need to be worrying about that and not Lokosa. Lokosa’s invitation was unnecessary. Nobody expected he will score a hart-trick. Even if he did “who will we drop him for?”what I meant was, we have our two point men already even before the match against Congo reasons being that simy coming into the picture, exposure and home based factors played against him even before the match .simy can't play as a winger so he can't replace Simeon due to his stature maybe. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Naughtytboy: 5:34am On May 30, 2018 |
Guys lucosa played out of position was due to the fact rohr wanted to see if he could replace simeon meaning the coach likes him .the fact is lucosa stands no Chance with the likes of ighalo and simy even at the moment ighalo Isn't sure if he's going to be in the ist 11 with the spark simy showed against Congo. Moreover with the stature lucosa has he should be able to play as a winger take the likes of Suarez, salah, Messi even musa can play as a striker. So u guys should stop saying he was played out of position. You can't have two powerful forwards like simy and ighalo and be expecting lucosa to have a shirt. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Naughtytboy: 5:23am On May 30, 2018 |
tbaba1234: That is Victor Ezeji's position. He is not even talking about London, he is talking about the final list.
Rohr has decided on taking 25 players to London. If Lokosa was not already on that list before the match, it means another player has to be dropped to accommodate him.
Iheanacho had a poor game even though he had the assist for Ekong's goal. Can you on the basis of that poor game, drop Iheanacho when you know what he can do?
I think, we need to see Lokosa again in another game but we can do that now or after the WC. I remember Lukmon Haruna scoring and having a great friendly games before disappearing in the WC proper.
Forget sentiments about trying to promote the league, that should not even be under consideration now. The national team is not there to promote the league. God bless you |
