The Nigeria Police Force on Wednesday, November 19, sealed the National Secretariat of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at Wadata Plaza, Abuja. The closure followed a violent face-off between two rival factions on Tuesday, resulting in the firing of teargas at opposing supporters of the party. The police sealed the premises with barbed wire barricades and patrol vehicles to prevent further breakdown of law and order.

The clash on Tuesday, November 18, happened when the faction led by the newly elected National Chairman, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, and backed by Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, attempted to hold its inaugural National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting at the secretariat. Simultaneously, the faction loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and led by Abdulrahman Mohammed, also summoned an emergency NEC and Board of Trustees meeting at the same venue.

Police officers stationed at the venue reportedly fired teargas repeatedly to disperse the rival crowds and restore order, with Makinde and Mohammed reportedly being affected.

Rapper Cardi B has taken to social media, stating she has been dealing with harassment and threats for over a year.

The 33-year-old artist revealed her state of distress after her estranged husband, Offset, posted and deleted a message saying “My kid lol,” which many believed was directed at Cardi’s newborn son with NFL star Stefon Diggs. The post brought about speculation about Georgia’s paternity laws, which automatically assume a woman’s husband is the father of any child born during the marriage, even if the couple is separated and the biological father is someone else.

Cardi, who later deleted her own tweet in response, said the situation has stopped being funny: “Y’all be thinking it’s so funny and it’s not… it’s been over a year and I’m still being harassed and threatened to the point that I feel like my life in danger… LEAVE ME TF ALONE.”

“When I get harassed privately and ignore it, that’s when it goes public… I have every single receipt. I can’t take it anymore.”

The Grammy winner also admitted the situation has left her uneasy at night: “Sometimes I sleep and I wonder, ‘This is not normal.’ You see crime documentaries… women getting killed every other day.”

Cardi and Offset share three kids, Kulture, Wave, and Blossom, and she filed for divorce in 2024 after six years of marriage. She welcomed her fourth child last week, with Stefon Diggs reportedly present during the birth. The divorce is still ongoing, which is why the Georgia paternity law has become a point of public contention. Cardi has made prior accusations against Offset amid their divorce, including claims of stalking, harassment, and sending threatening messages.

APC- The National Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole has said Senate President Bukola’s Saraki’s continued stay in office is unacceptable to the party.

He said it would be strange if the ruling party is experiencing “graveyard peace,” against the backdrop of recent events in APC.

Oshiomhole said these when he appeared on Arise Television, yesterday and added that the APC is prone to controversies because it is a large party.

Last week, the party chairman was detained by the Department of State Services (DSS) and grilled for nine hours after some governors alleged that he received bribes during the party’s primary elections across the country.

In his reaction, Oshiomhole said although the aggrieved members were allowed to grumble but the party has moved on and has put in place internal procedures for reconciliation.

“We have finished our primaries and we have submitted names to INEC and there are internal procedures for reconciliation and we are working on them..
