SportsSodje Brothers Accused Of Laundering £80,000 Fraud Money. (premiumsportscenter) by ndibeemma(op): 8:09am On Sep 07, 2017
Sodje brothers accused laundering £80,000 fraud money.
Former Nigeria internationals Sam and Efe Sodje have been accused alongside their brother, Akpo of being involved in channelling proceeds from scam.

Sam and Efe are on trial at the Old Bailey this week and pleaded not guilty

Akpo Sodje, who also is an ex footballer with Charlton Athletic and now lives in Dubai, declined to return to Britain to be interviewed by the police.

It is alleged that the three footballer brothers helped launder cash from an £80,000 international fraud, a court heard.

Already retired Premier League player Sam Sodje, who represented Reading, Charlton Athletic and Nigeria during his playing days alongside with siblings Efe and Akpo, were allegedly involved in channelling proceeds from the said scam which targeted firms in Colombia, India, Italy and Abu Dhabi.

Sam and Efe are on trial with two other men, Emmanuel Ehikhamen and Andrew Oruma.

The Prosecutor Christopher Julian QC told the jury that the total fraud over the course of a month in 2013 amounted to just under £80,000.

He said: 'This case is about international money laundering. In November 2013 a number of companies around the world - in Colombia, India, Italy and Abu Dhabi - were the victims of fraud.

'They were sent emails which they thought came from their suppliers to whom they owed money, but the emails provided new, false, bank details to which the money should apparently be sent.

'There were two bank accounts to which these companies were tricked into sending money. One belonged to the first defendant, Emmanuel Ehikhamen, the other to a man named Akpo Sodje, brother of the defendants Efe Sodje and Sam Sodje.

'The prosecution allege that all four of them and also the defendant Andrew Oruma were involved in an arrangement to facilitate the receiving and onward transmission of money which had been

Costa left out of Chelsea Uefa Champions League squad
Chelsea rogue striker Diego Costa has not been included in Chelsea's 2017/2018 Champions League squad.

Costa was registered in Chelsea 25-man squad for the English Premier league season but not for their campaign in the UEFA champions league.

The wantawayvstriker is currently on strike in his homeland Brazil and doesn't want to come back to Stamford Bridge this summer.

He has set his heart on a return to his boyhood club, Atletico Madrid, but after the Spanish transfer deadline passed on Friday night he remained tied to the London club.

Nevertheless, for the Champions League it is evident Costa has no chance of playing a role even if he stays in London for another four months until the January window opens.

it remains to be seen whether he will pull on the blue shirt again despite being in Antonio Conte's team for the Premier league.

This decision was taken after Chelsea failed to complete transfers for Fernando Llorente and Ross Barkley on Deadline Day, leaving Conte short of options.

The row between Costa and Conte has become public after the Brazilian born Spaniard accused

SportsDeadline Likely Deals, Alex Chamberlain Off To Liverpool (premiumsportscenter) by ndibeemma(op): 7:49pm On Aug 30, 2017
Wednesday, August 30, 2017
Transfer Crunch time: Possible transfer deals
Phillipe Coutinho to Barcelona: This is a saga that has gone on for a while. The Brazilian wants to go but the Reds want at least another season from their talisman. Barca are desperate. This could go either way.

Gareth Bale to Man United - Reports suggest that Bale is unsettled and that the Welshman would prefer a move back to the league where he made his name. Title contenders United seem interested in the pacy winger.

Thomas Lemar to Barca/Liverpool - Lemar is one of the few gems remaining from the title winning Monaco team. The Reds and the Catalans seem to have developed a Transfer rivalry. Irrespective of which club the player chooses, he could end up as the alternative for Coutinho either way.

Sanchez to Man City - Pep dreams of a team of 10 attackers. He has 9. 'Demoralised' Alexis Sanchez is his target. If this one goes through, the fans could turn on Arsene.

Raheem Sterling to Arsenal - But the Frenchman has an ace up his sleeve. He reportedly wants another winger+cash for Sanchez. Sterling may not be anywhere near the class of the experienced Chilean but at least he is good enough to play for the Gunners.

Ross Barkley, Danny Drinkwater to Chelsea - The defending champs are on the lookout for a Matic replacement. After being turned down by Oxlade Chamberlain, they are actively pursuing Leicester's Drinkwater. Barkley hopes he can escape the Merseyside Blues and step up.

Oxlade, Virgil Van Diryk to Liverpool - What is a transfer window without the Reds signing a Saints player. Ox is a product of their academy and shares the Dutchman's desire to play under Klopp. £75mil to go with the apology in July could see Southampton begrudgingly let go off VVD.

Divock Origi to Monaco - The Belgian could be used in a makeshift loan deal to bring Lemar to Liverpool. A return to France might do some good for Origi who has fallen down the pecking order.

Mamadou Sakho to Crystal Palace - Yes. The French defender is still around and apparently kicks the ball outside Melwood. Frank de Boer wants to save his job and believes Sakho is the man. The Reds are demanding £30 million. The Eagles are hoping for some final day discounts.

Jonny Evans to Man City/Arsenal/Everton - The West Brom man is suddenly hot property. Pep needs a ball playing defender and Man United fans swear that his passing is underrated. Everton have been compulsive shoppers this window and don't want to miss out on the fun. Arsenal.. well they need players.

UEFA Champions League Wednesday knockout qualifying round Review
Liverpool 4-2 Hoffenheim

Liverpool stormed into the group stages of the Champions League after an explosive first-half display against Hoffenheim at Anfield which saw them score 3 goals in 25 minutes secured a 4-2 win and 6-3 on aggregate.

Midfielder Emre Can stroke twice, the first in the 10th minute and the second in the 25th.

Mohamed Salah tapped in on the 18th-minute to score the second which was his first European goal for Liverpool and his first at Anfield.

Mark Uth reduced the deficit after coming on as a sub in the firsthalf but an unrelenting Liverpool ran riot and got the fourth through Firminho after captain Henderson stole the ball from the Hoffenheim last defender.

Sandro Wagner briefly paused the party atmosphere with a 79th-minute consolation header.

To be frank, Klopp's men will not be an opponent desired by Europe's leading teams when they are placed in pot three for Thursday's Champions League draw.

Steaua Bucharest 5-1 Sporting Lisbon

After a first leg that ended goaless, Sporting Lisbon went on a scoring spree in the second half of the game as they reached the group stage of this season's Uefa Champions League.

The team from Portugal got the lead when Ivorian Seldou Doumbia put Sporting ahead after 13 minutes, but when Junior Morais equalised seven minutes later when he tapped in after Lisbon goalkeeper had save a shot.

The momentum died for Steaua Bucharest during the final 30 minutes, conceding four goals as Sporting cut loose with Marcos Acuna, Gelson Martins, Bas Dost and Rodrigo Battaglia getting the goals that powered the Portuguese side into the pool draw.

FC COPENHAGEN 2-1 QARABAG

The surprise team from Azerbaijan Qarabag went through to the group stage following a tense play-off tie away to FTC Copenhagen in Denmark.

Qarabag took a one-goal advantage with them to Denmark, but fell behind in the 45th minute when Federico Santander netted for the home team. Things looked better for Qarabag when Dino Ndlovu equalised in the 63rd minute, only for Copenhagen to regain the lead in the 66th minute through Andrija Pavlovic.

It became a tight contest towards the end but Copenhagen could not score again, meaning the tie ended 2-2 on aggregate with Qarabag progressing on away goals and becoming the first team from their country to make the Champions League group stage.

SportsFarwell Rooney, As Player Calls It Quit From International Football by ndibeemma(op):
Wayne Rooney retires from international football
Wayne Rooney has retired from international football - despite coach Gareth Southgate wanting him back in the England squad.

Rooney bows out as England's all-time leading goalscorer with 53 goals, and the second-highest appearance maker.

The former Three Lions skipper rejoined Everton this summer and has enjoyed a fine start to life back at Goodison.

After scoring his second goal in as many Premier League games against Manchester City, he confirmed he would speak to boss Gareth Southgate.

But he has now decided to hang up his boots, despite Southgate planning to select him for upcoming matches.

"It was great that Gareth Southgate called me this week to tell me he wanted me back in the England squad for the upcoming matches. I really appreciated that," he said in a statement.

"However, having already thought long and hard, I told Gareth that I had now decided to retire for good from international football.

"It is a really tough decision and one I have discussed with my family, my manager at Everton and those closest to me.

Playing for England has always been special to me.

Every time I was selected as a player or captain was a real privilege and I thank everyone who helped me.

But I believe now is the time to bow out.''

Rooney's last game for England was the win over Scotland in November, with his final goal coming against Iceland last summer.

Injuries prevented him being called up last season before Gareth Southgate overlooked him for matches this summer due to his lack of game time with Manchester United.

There had been calls for his return following his impressive form with Everton.

Rooney burst onto the international scene as a teenager, making his debut against Australia in February 2003, aged 17.

He took Euro 2004 by storm before securing his move to Manchester United

Aiteo Cup: ABS bundles Enyimba out
Adeshina Gata, Yinka Adewale and Wasiu Alalade's heroic performances was enough for Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC, to bundle Enyimba International FC of Aba out of the Aiteo Cup (Federation) with a 2-1 victory.

It took the Saraki Boys only three minutes to go in front from the spot kick when Gata's clear cut chance found Wasiu Alalade.

Enyimba Ghanaian goalkeeper Dauda Fatau had brought down Alalade for the penalty.

The visitors capitalized on an ABS defensive mix-up when Ernest Governor's back pass was picked up by Ikechukwu Ibenegbu whose pass find an unmarked Eric Frimpong who easily tapped in from a close range in the 22nd minute.

12 minute later, ABS should have doubled the lead when Adeshina Gata's another clear cut chance was fired inches away from goal by Abubakar Chindo.

Three minutes before half time, Stephen Chukwude fantastic effort was well dealt with by Yinka Adewale in goal for ABS FC.

The Saraki Boys restarted the game better than the visitors as they pegged the Peoples Elephant to their half for most parts of the 2nd half.

One minute into the restart, Chindo's pass picked up Alalade who was unmarked to head past Fatau to restore the hosts' lead.

After the ABS second goal, the game became an end to end battle with the two sides searching for more goals.

SportsLiverpool: One Leg Into Champions League Group Stage by ndibeemma(op): 11:23am On Aug 16, 2017
Liverpool one leg into Champions League group stage after win over Hoffenheim
It was indeed a special night for 18 year old Liverpool right back, Trent Alexander-Arnold as he made his champions league debut scoring his first Liverpool goal with a wonderful freekick which set the English team on their way to a 2-1 Champions League play-off round victory away at Hoffenheim in Tuesday's first leg match.

Liverpool, without brazillian star Philippe Coutinho, had it very difficult against a Hoffehiem side unbeaten in 17 games at home.

With a jittery performance and a penalty saved by Mignolet in the early stage, Liverpool dug deep and got inspiration from an unlikely source.

Liverpool broke through Sadio Mane, who went past two defenders before being brought down.

Then shockingly stepped up 18 year old right-back Alexander-Arnold who bent in the freekick with the goalkeeper rooted to his spot.

Liverpool got the second through a controversial fashion.

SportsStop Treating Me Like A Criminal, Costa Tells Chelsea by ndibeemma(op): 11:20am On Aug 14, 2017
'Chelsea is treating me like a criminal' - Diego Costa
Want a way Chelsea striker Diego Costa has aired his disgruntled feeling towards manager, Antonio Conte and further accused the Premier League club of treating him like a Criminal.

Diego Costa was Chelsea's top scorer with 20 goals last season as they secured a second league title in three years but as it was reported, Conte has since informed the Spain international that he will not feature in his first-team plans for the new season.

According to Goal, his Former club Atletico de Madrid looks a better option for Costa, who is presently picking up fines as he refuses to return to Chelsea and train with the reserves.

"I wouldn't be allowed access to the first-team dressing room and I would have no contact at all with the guys," he explained. "I'm not a criminal! I don’t think it is fair after all I have done to be treated like that.

SportsIttf Nigeria Open, Aruna Quadri Crashes Out!! by ndibeemma(op): 11:00am On Aug 13, 2017

Aruna Quadri knocked out of ITTF Nigeria Open
Bode Abiodun caused a sensation in the third round of the Men’s Singles event at the 2017 ITTF Challenge Seamaster Nigeria Open in Lagos as knocked out tournament favourite, Aruna Quadri

Against all odds, Abiodun defeated compatriot and top seed, Quadri in six games (11-9, 7-11, 11-5, 12-10, 9-11, 11-9) to reserve his place in the last eight.

Earlier in the year, he came third in the group behind Frenchman Andrieu Landrieu and the Slovak Republic’s Jakub Figel at the Seamaster 2017 ITTF World Tour Hungarian Open in Budapest in January.

That was his only international competition prior to the Lagos Open.

Presently Bode Abiodun has no world ranking, his most recent position being no.200 earlier this year in May, a listing which enabled him to occupy the no.9 seeded position in Lagos.

The highest of his career was in October 2010 when he was named at no.126.

Conversely, Quadri Aruna presently stands at no.29, having been at no.25 from September 2016 to earlier this year in January.
