Hi Nairlanders, Someone is offering me a 90's Acura Legend at low price. The car is clean inside out and it's currently in the United States. The car cheap die but has over 200k Miles on it. I heard this car is a rare gold. How True is that? My only problem is that I might use it for long and will I be able to sell afterwards.

Please can someone explain to me why the Toyota Crown Royal Saloon hardly comes in Left Hand Drive. I read its customized for the Japanese market and they limited there only. I have seen some on Lagos Roads. One person admitted his own was converted. I don't like doing conversions becaue of the problems associated with it if not properly done. Now my question again, if the car hardly comes in Left Hand Drive, where do they get the corresponding parts to make the switch?. Finally where are these cars found, because you can walk the whole length of Lagos but no dealer has it in stock. Your inputs will be highly appreciated. Nefo Motoring Czar @ Banks Motoring

Sincerely speaking I don't think one needs to flush transmission oil twice in a year. Transmission oil and Engine oil are not of same viscocity. I think once a year is good. Also it depends on usage of the vehicle. I have a friend who takes public transport to work everyday and only drives Saturdays and Sundays. He never goes anywhere far. So in this case he doesn't even need to take a look at his tranny fluid. Also note that the gear system contains fibres of which some tranny fluids can cause damage to it. So one has to be careful about frequency of flushing. |
nurey:Just like you said, they have other competition within its family. Most people will favour the corolla or camry over this. But am very postive on this one. It Wil deliver beyond expectations |

Hi House, please I would live to get your opinion on 2004-2005 Acura TSX. Those who have used it locally can share their views on durability, availability of parts, efficiency and all there is need to know. Oyibo sites rated this car 5 stars out of 5. And i wonder why then is it not rampant on our roads. Please someone should clear my doubts. Thanks

Didnt see an 04 model on any of those sites. I saw 99-2002. And this falls out of the desired year. I take year of manufacture very seriously. Anyway I will continue my search till something good is found. |
nurey:You are very correct my brother. I have searched o! Haven't seen any dealer in Lagos stocking this model. When the time is right, am considering going to cotonou as well. Or better still import from America if I can source enough dollar at the right price. It seems people are not giving up these RL's easily. |
Hi all, I am looking for a 2004 Acura 3.5rl to buy. Must be an 04 model. Am very specific about the year. It's the last year for the car before it was completely redesigned. I have done extensive research on this car and found out that it is highly underrated though it's a very reliable and comfortable car. Has features a Camry or corolla of same year won't dream about. What's the reason for my choice: I like being different and so opted to stand out from the crowd. I want to go away from with whole Toyotas out there. Granted Toyota make good cars but still doesn't match the Acura RL's finish. Can I get a feedback about the cost of this vehicle. Also your comments will be highly appreciated.

I wish to share to my encounter with the security guards at Ikeja City Mall on 19/02/2016 at about 0845hrs. I was on my my way home from work when I decided to enter the mall and pick up a few food items from Shoprite. On getting to the mall, I was pressed and needed to ease myself. The security guard at the mall entrance said I won't be able to do so till the mall opened by 9:00am. He also added that I can go anywhere outside the mall and take a piss if am so badly pressed. I told him I wouldn't do that and as a security guard such horrible suggestions shouldn't come from him. The ICM is housed in Alausa, the seat of Government in Lagos state and as such its wrong to defecate publicly around there and every other place. Maybe he doesn't know there's a section of Lagos state law that handles such offences. Probably he wants me picked up by Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) Officers working in the area. He apologized and asked I should wait a few minutes more. Eventually, the mall opened and I rushed in to use the toilet before proceeding to Shoprite and once more I was stopped by a security guard at the toilet entrance. I probed to ask why he stopped me and he said that I can't use the toilet till 0930hrs and the instruction came from his supervisor. I thought maybe there was a problem with the toilets but he told me plainly that I won't be able to take a piss. At this moment, I got mad and requested for his supervisor's name and if possible lead me to his office as I wish to speak with him. He declined giving me his name and maintained his ground. At that moment, I told him I will take the piss right there and then if he didn't allow me pass. He later allowed me in but started making side comments that I shouldn't take a piss on the floor and also not misuse the facilities. This bashing continued even as I was exiting the toilet area. I kept my cool and decided not to engage in exchange of words with him. I find this conduct very embarrassing and lowly for a place like ICM. From my experience as senior ranking security officer, I believe that floor guards ought to be trained on how to be courteous, polite and firm. They are supposed to be taught how to use their discretion and make exceptions were necessary. If the ICM is facing facility maintenance issues, the best way to approach it is not by the use of security guards to restrain legitimate shoppers from making use of the facilities. I believe there should be a better solution to the problem other than the one being executed at the moment. The maintenance and management of public spaces is not an easy task but that's not enough reason to prevent/restrict people in a rude way. If there have been cases of improper use of toilet facilities in the past, the management should brain storm and finding a lasting solution so as to stop this embarrasment. |
sultaan:Thank you Sultaan. You too much. The last time.I cleared a 2002 Vehicle it was put at 340k. But let me see as it goes sha. A big buick for me is what I need right now. Am tired of seeing same Toyota cars over and over again. |
My good people of Nairalands, I am a lover of American cars mostly especially ones made by GM. Am not really a fan of Toyota, Honda and other Japanese models. Don't get me wrong they are good cars but so regular. I don't do reguar cars. Standing aprt from the crowd is my thing. Am about purchasing a 2002 Buick Century. Previously using a Chevy Aveo but need something with more power. Can you please share your thoughts on availability of parts and a good mechanic that services American cars in Lagos. I don't mind buying my parts from America but need them to be fixed right. Thanks

Hi Nairalanders, please I need your advice. I am currently stuck in a job for 5years now and I think it's time to move on. I have given my best and there is no much to give any more. The pay is not bad but I feel everything now is a routine. There are times I will wake up and not feel like going to work. In fact there was a day I decided to stay at home and didn't bother calling in sick either. At about 9am, my boss called and asked why I wasn't at work yet and I told him I was on my way and ended the call. I was hoping for the Heavens to fall when I got to the office around 11am but he didn't utter a word throughout operational hours. I was expecting a query or something over the next few days but it never came. In fact I heard he told some colleagues that I am one of his strongholds and he would want to keep me close. So, I decided that I will quit my job and pursue something else. I wanted to leave the country and pursue an International Masters Program. I started applying to various schools and admissions started rolling in. I also started saving up money for the next move because I knew I will need quite alot. I started contacting my buddies who have completed or pursuing their Masters degree abroad. The first guy I contact told me he had finished but yet to get a job. He made first class in Petroleum Engineering from a well known University. He complained so bitterly how rough things were in Europe and I parted with €100 to reduce his suffering. He wasn't begging me for money but he is my guy so I should know what to do. The next guy I contacted also told me same stories of woe and how he has been unable to find employment ever since. Finally, a friend who just completed his masters called and requested I pick him up at the airport which I gladly obliged. On our way home, I hinted him how I want to quit my job and pursue a masters program abroad. He gave me a stern look and said, please don't go...ITS NOT WORTH IT!!!. I asked him why, he said if you think Nigeria is the only country with employment problems then you have to wake up. A Masters degree program is good but not a pathway to success or better job. He also added that so many people have refused to come home while some have attained two masters degree programs and yet no job. House I need your advice, should I cancel or pursue. I have tried getting another job but it is not forthcoming. |
PushMusic:Thank you. I will make out time go go check it out. Just hope they don't want two arms and two legs for it. ![]() |
dumo1:Thanks but am specifically looking for a 1996 Jaguar Vanden Plas. I call it the "Original'" Jaguar because it was made by the British Company of old. The company has been sold to Ford and later to TATA group. Though the Jaguar name plate still remains, the new Jaguar cars of today are good but have lost that perfect touch of the British Engineering. So I will pass on this one. Thank you. |
The 1996 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas is a vehicle you won't believe that was made in the 90's. Most cars of 2015 can't boast of some of the features found on this car. It was so over engineered for its year. The designers simply out did themselves and completely went beserk on this one. Fast forwarding to 19years later, the car is still there but has lost all forms of attraction. Young buyers won't even take a look a it twice and some won't take a look at all. So please if I can see one to buy cheap I will be glad. Make all these sellers stop to dey high price joor. Don't out your while financial burden on one car. Would they rather to have cash at hand or allow these cars eat dust on a daily basis. Haba
|
PushMusic:Pls can you give me directions to the workshop or number of the person in charge so I can follow up. Thank you |
Denn:I saw a 94 Vanden Plas abandoned close to the Old Toll Gate in Lagos. I went back there to make inquiries and was told it has been taken away by Ambode people. I saw another parked off Allen Avenue. The car was good but swallowed in years of dust. The dust don form cake for the body sef. I had to consult passers by to make out the phone number of the seller pasted on it. But the guy wanted two arms and two legs for it. So I bid him farewell and told him to wait till the car is totally buried in mud before he takes an offer. ![]() |
kingreign:I wanted to purchase one myself. Believe me this car comes cheap and is not in the scope of any person who is about owning a car for the first time. A dealer in the USA offered one for 2500 US dollars.( about 500,000NGN). The car has been sitting in his lot for many years and nobody seemed to be interested. People who visited his shop would always go for a more recent car. A deal was nearly struck but I decided to get a quote from the Nigeria Customs Service as per clearing charges. The bill I got surpassed both the cost and shipping of the car totalled together. In fact it shot through the roof. Reason they gave for this is that vehicle is more than 15years old and as a classic/luxury vehicle the duty is calculated specially. So I walked away. |
Hi Nairalanders, am currently seeking a 1996 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas for a short project. Must be a Vanden Plas variant. This is a classic car form the 90's and very rare to find in Nigeria. Am a motoring enthusiast and you can look me up on my facebook page 'Bankz Motoring'. Am not offerring $$$ because i cant afford it but will be happy to use one for a short period of time. Anyone with ideas on how to laid my hands on one should reply asap. Thank you.

I didn't even see the internal memo at at al.l The info was passed through an old friend of mine who worked there previously. I went to NBPLC site and no job was active at all. I suspected the info sha but also decided to act on it. You never can tell. What I don't like is being embarrassed at the gate by security guards especially when submitting for a job that wasn't advertised to public. |
I saw the job advert on the clsoing dateb for submission. Sadly, I was very far away from Iganmu that day. Since I had my laptop with me, I mailed my credentials to a friend and asked him to race down to Iganmu as fast as he could. It was around 3:30pm that day and he got there just in time to submit the application. But I haven't gotten an invite to the test though. Will they still call more people. Fingers crossed |
Call Mr. Sunday on 0803 448 3534. He is very reliable. His shop is in Olowu street, Ikeja. Solved the issue with my car AC in minutes. I dropped the car for him and went to buy a phone at computer village. When I got back I didn't see my car again. I called his number and he took me to where it was parked. The car was on and the AC was so powerful that my windows got frozen. |
JUMIA invited me for interview on two separate occasions and I turned them down. I applied for a Security Analyst position and I knew I was one of the best candidates for the job. I didn't attend the first interview and offered no excuses for that. Surprisingly, they reshuduled the interview and I still did not show. After reading about them online, I made up my mind to back out completely. The company couldnt have sustained my long term goals. |
Hi house, I just heard that NBPLC is recruiting for Sales Executive position. But it is not advertised anywhere at all. Its more of an internal arrangement. Prospective candidates were asked to submit their CVs physically. Anyone with a more reliable info should share please. Thank you |
