Okay! One should understand the root cause of the Nigerian woman making demands of a boyfriend or fiance. I personally trace that to the Igbo culture. Traditionally, a woman is not expected to inherit lands or houses from her father after his demise. The prosperity of the Igbo woman is mostly tied to the husband She marries. She therefore becomes very picky over who She dates and eventually marries. Such a man is expected to take full responsibility of her before getting married as a sign that he is capable of doing same during the marriage. Younger generations of girls took cognisance of this. That being said, If Nigerian men want Nigerian girls to be less materialistic, it is our generation that will change the culture. When you have female children, provide adequately for them.
