Police in Mumias, a town in Kenya had to rescue a man posing as female prostitute in the town from angry residents who wanted to lynch him.

The man calling himself ‘Grace’ was arrested for dressing as a woman and was also accused of seducing a patron at a local bar.

The man was engrossed with ‘Grace’ that he booked a hotel room but to his utter shock ‘Grace’ was not the sexy woman he expected but a man.

According to witnesses the man was good at posing as a woman with his walking style, gait and mannerisms similar to a real woman.

Some of the residents said ‘Grace’ was a member of gang that seduces patrons in bars and lodgings with the aim of stealing from them.

Mumias OCPD Farah Mohammed confirmed the arrest but said ‘Grace’ would be released as the complainant was yet to record a statement with the police.

According to witnesses the man was good at posing as a woman with his walking style, gait and mannerisms similar to a real woman.

The pastor in charge of Bishop David Oyedepo's Winners' chapel church in Nairobi, Kenya Pastor Patrick Ngutu posted the photo of the owl lying lifeless with a number of people surrounding it, and said it was a second killed in the church’s compound.

He said the bird is a witch sent to haunt members of the church. However, his post has attracted massive criticism from a section of Kenyans who now want the man of God to be arrested by the Kenya Wildlife Service for killing an innocent bird.

Considered the biggest churche in Kenya, the 20,000 seaters capacity Winners Chapel is situated along Mombasa Road, less than a kilometre from the Nairobi National Park. Perhaps this explains why many who have seen the post feel that the bird just wandered to the church compound because of the proximity to its habitat.


Efforts by Ngutu to defend his post attracted even more criticism, with many telling him off and even referring to the church as just another cult.

I can see lots of attention seekers everywhere. They scream women are being discriminated against but produce not facts but heresay. So let's examine the pure facts:

Education
The writer says women are being discriminated against in education. She forgot to tell us which Nigerian culture does not allow girls go to school. She just mentioned "cultures". Truth is that there is the Universal Basic Education program that ensures ALL Nigerian Children are educated to a certain level - JSS 3. This program does not discriminate against girls in any way. It caters for both boys and girls. The writer also forgets that Jamb cut of marks are not Gender based. If women were being discriminated against, then their own scores will have to be higher. Besides, I hear for common entrance, the cut-off marks are actually lower for girls than boys. So can someone explain what the discrimination is about. Unilag actually has about the same number of female and male students at the moment.

Politics
No law in Nigeria stops anyone from holding political office. The only barrier could be age but certainly not gender. How many women even contest for electoral offices? How can you vote for a women if there are no female contestants? KOWA Party had a female presidential flag bearer, how many women voted for her? Did the writer vote for KOWA? If she didn't then she should just shut up.

The problem with Nigerian feminists is that they do not believe they have to work hard for anything. They think they should get these positions just because they are women. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Mobola Johnson etc all got to where they got to because they worked hard. Go check their resumes. Hilary Clinton, Christen Lagarde and the likes got to their positions because they worked hard and deserved it. It wasn't because they were just women. People will take anybody serious when you truly have something to offer - if you have nothing to offer, you can't expect to be given much authority simply because you are a woman.

Marriage
No law in Nigeria forces a woman to marry or remain with any man. A woman has a CHOICE and most times decides who she marries by her own free will. And she decides to stay or leave as she pleases. If a woman marries an slowpoke, it is because of her poor judgement - it has nothing to do with gender equality. There are several women who married wonderful men or who even chose not to marry. And if a woman decides to remain in an abusive marriage - it is also her choice and has nothing to do with gender equality. There is a law in Lagos state against gender violence.

Most times these women marry for nothing more than money. They don't even care the guy's source of money or whether he can sustain a decent lifestyle. Once he has a little money to spend on them, they just open their legs and let the man have his way. Whose fault is that biko?

As for the writer insulting Freeze, I think the writer's degree ought to be investigated.

Say no to drugs

There is so much drug use in the Nigerian music industry too, we hope our artistes wil learn from this.

Popular Tanzanian singer, Ray C, was rescued by police on Thursday night after she attempted to commit suicide.

The once popular singer who destroyed her life with hard drugs, attracted attention when she started screaming in the middle of the road claiming that kidnappers were after her.

She requested for a knife to end her life as passers-by tried to rescue her.

Popular Tanzanian actress, Esha Buheti, witnessed the drama and said that Ray C’s claims that kidnappers were after her were all hallucinations from drug.

“I thought all through people were making false claims about Ray C sliding back into drug use. However, what I witnessed today broke my heart. We should do something urgently to help Ray C,” the popular actress said.

“I had gone to buy chips at a fast food joint in Kinondoni when I heard someone say that Ray C threatened to strip. I thought it was a joke until I saw Ray C screaming, asking people to rescue her from being kidnapped. She was very strong. When people held her, she started mumbling. She slipped the grip and started looking for a knife to commit suicide.

“People held her, and when she realised she couldn’t get the knife, she lowered herself to a muddy ground and started rolling around. She was yelling at the time. Tears rolled down my cheeks.

“As that happened, police in a patrol car came and picked Ray C up. She screamed yet again, this time loudest. I don’t know where she was taken to. But Ray C appeared to have gone bonkers,” Esha added.

A part of the popular Ogun River which flows under the Kara Bridge around Ojodu Berger area of Lagos State suddenly and shockingly turned dry today June 18th. The Kara cattle market community under the bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway has become a Mecca of some sort as people besieged the community to see the dried section of the river which once provided water for the Kara cattle and ram market.

Residents of the area say they woke up this morning to see the river which served as one of their means of transportation where canoes were used to reach the dense waters, totally dry and it wasn't like that the day before. The surface of the water had become firm and people can now stand on the portion of the river. What do you guys think happened? Photos below...

This is the third man to have been electrocuted today by this faulty Street light pole at Kosofe Bus Stop, Mile 12. The Lagos State Government recently barricaded the road around the area with iron rails to force people to use the new pedestrian bridge in the area instead of crossing the road. However, because the bridge location is very far from this particular spot, people who have businesses at the other side of the road always cross the iron rail demarcation after bending the sharp pointed irons fitted on top. Unfortunately, a broken cable from this street light pole fitted to the demarcation is already touching the entire rail and therefore everyone trying to cross the place today have been shocked. Three unlucky persons died today at different times after getting electrocuted by the rail. That's not the only problem, the said pole is at the brink of collapse as it's been shaking all day and a major wind can finally pull it down. This is a very busy road, hope authorities will do something about it immediately before more damage is done. More photos below..
