You just stated that you are currently in Germany studying abi? If you went through the process of booking appointment, waiting on the queue, going for interview and finally getting the visum. If you actually passed through this process, check the mails embassy sent to you. Compare them with the letter you have now. It is same format. Unless you have an ulterior motive. It is nobody's business here if you have a contact that can get appointment date for people. There is a standard communication channel the embassy uses to communicate Appointment Date(AD) and Approval Mail(AM) to VISA seekers. The email address embassy uses both ends with .de A888Nny: |

[quote author=A888Nny post=1306561o Everyone, I was a follower of this Topic few years ago and I must say this forum helped me with my process starting from admission to visa to getting to germany and finding accommodation. I am well aware of the difficulty in getting an appointment date and someone is trying to help my brother secure an appointment but I need to confirm if the appointment letter is valid or not. Is there anyone here who received an appointment date later of recent. I will like to see it please. You can blur the details please. Is the Visa appointment date letter same as certification of document and opening of blocked account appointment ?
|
None. Everyone is on the waiting list. Use this moment to get all you need ready. Checklist for Opportunity Card(Chancenkarte) appointment at the Embassy/Consulate. 👇👇👇👇 https://nigeria.diplo.de/ng-de/service/-/2660826 noisemaker12: |
Don't conclude on what you are not sure. The link above is authentic. You can only book appointment for Chancenkarte through the German Mission in Nigeria. The link is for Opportunity Card. Some may find it difficult navigating the embassy/consulate website, so I copied and pasted the link for Opportunity Card here for easy accessibility. ihavesense: |
Since Appointment Date (AD) is no longer given on the day you book, rather you are on a queue (waiting list). No need to cancel it. If you cancel, you are taken away from the waiting list. Make sure you have an admission letter before your interview. Bryanutuk: |
Gaining admission is the first and most important. Reason been that without admission your visa request is not possible. You will not gain access into the Embassy/Consulate without without providing an admission letter from a university in Germany. I will attach a checklist link below. Secondly the amount to block is 11,208€ as of 2024 and not 8,000€. I don't know if you can use MPOWER loan but source of funds is usually verified. Cat A and Cat B are related to securing Appointment at the Embassy in other to process your visa request. Cat A: holding a letter of admission for PHD studies or holding a bachelor's degree with a grade of 1. Class issued no more than TWO years ago and having been accepted to a master's degree (also a DSH course-related admission to the master's program) or PhD study in Germany or holding a scholarship financed from German public funds or European supported funds for a study or a PhD in Germany or holding a signed “Aufnahmevereinbarung” / hosting agreement concerning your research fellowship with a university or research institute accepted by the “BAMF”. Category A receives Appointment Date (AD) within 2-3 weeks of booking Appointment. Category B: For those that made 2.1, 2.2, etc... are in Category B. The waiting time is 18-21 months. Goodluck! Checklist👇👇👇 https://nigeria.diplo.de/ng-en/-/2568986 I recently completed my undergraduate studies with a CGPA of 4.02/5. I am preparing to apply to German universities for my master’s degree, and eventually pursue a PhD. Since Germany requires a master’s degree before pursuing a PhD, I have several questions that I need clarified: 1. Do I need to gain admission first before funding my blocked account? 2. Can I use an MPOWER loan or any other online loan financing to fund the €8,000 required in my blocked account? 3. What do CAT A and CAT B mean? Are these categories related to securing a visa interview date? Please kindly explain how the entire process works.
|

It is difficult but not impossible. If you have any friend or close family member resident in Deutschland, there is hope. Is your question related to proof of funds for sustenance? Or getting a part-time (secondary employment) when you arrive Deutschland? If it is regarding securing a part-time employment contract so that you won't need to block funds, then it is very remote. But if it is about securing a part-time employment when you arrive Deutschland, it is very possible and not difficult. I hope I answered your question.
How can one easily get a part-time job in Germany from Nigeria?
|
Make up your mind and join the queue if you are interested to move to Deutschland. People are booking for appointment every day regardless of the uncertainty surrounding appointment date. If you belong to Category A, you will get appointment within 3-4 weeks but for Category B, the waiting time is 18-21 months. If you made first class within the last 2 years, then apply under Category A but if it is 2.1, 2.2, etc., you belong to Category B. You should book, join the queue so that as others ahead of you move up, you do same and the waiting time reduces. There is nothing wrong in waiting except you have enough funds to try other places like Canada, UK, US and others. Make up your mind now. sweetval: |

Sure you can. As long as you meet the criteria. Secondly, Student study Visa section and Opportunity Card section are different. If you meet the requirements for Chancenkarte, you should apply too. sussybae: |

Has anyone been able to register for Chancenkarte appointment? Someone said it is possible to do that in person at the German Consulate Lagos but I doubt that because no such option is available when booking an appointment. I am asking because I may be wrong, has anyone done that? Secondly for the jobseekers visa, would secondary employment allow the individual work pending when the person gets a permanent job? Finally, has anyone who booked an appointment around November 2022 for Category B been called for interview? Anyone with insights should kindly clarify. Thank you! Hannania: |

Request for the official transcript of results from your institution. Most likely you wont be given the official copy. Your school will charge you for the delivery and they will send it to Uniassist. Second option, search for a notary public in your area so as to notarize the student's copy you have. That can also work. In my case, i have used the notarized copy in place of the official copy. Uniassist accepted it without any issue. NLFreak: |
Since English language was a language of instruction, I dont think you need any English test certificate. You are a native english speaker and English language was the language of instruction during your undergraduate studies. Get a proficiency letter from the institution you attended. You should be concerned about German language A1 or A2. ElGabi: |
Ok. Just do as instructed. Ademxju: |
You have until Monday. If you reside around Lagos, do it today. Monday is your deadline. Ademxju: |
Thank you for this information. Mine is still far sha but i will remain hopeful. Ademxju: |
If you reside in Lagos, you don't need another appointment to give them print out from Fintba indicating the availability of the blocked funds.Since tomorrow is Friday, don't use courier like DHL or UPS, rather walk up to the embassy and drop it there. Use an envelop, write your name, contact address and phone number on it. It is better to go before 12noon. But if you reside outside Lagos, you may not be able to meet the deadline of 2nd june. If so, then use DHL in your location. Use express service for quicker delivery. Then send an email to info@lago.diplo.de explaining the delay as a result of verification of source of fund. All the best. May your efforts be crowned with resounding success. Cheers Ademxju: |
I guess you booked under Category B and already in the waiting list but just want to know if you can book again in Category A. All the best to us in the waiting list ![]() didiz: |
